ALDI is coming to the LA area!

I was reading the Sunday LA Times today and saw an ad for ALDI in the help wanted section. It looks like they're opening up several stores (8 to 10?) from the SFV to Orange.

It's too much of a haul for us to make on a regular basis (I'm not driving 200 miles round-trip to save on groceries), but I'll add it to the list of stops for when we do a long-range shopping trip.

The ALDI website doesn't list the LA-area stores yet, but they should be coming soon....

Huzzah. I occasionally drop by LA on business, and it'd be amazing to be able to buy groceries for less than the extortionate sums Fresh n' Easy charge. Think I lost all my spending money in that place last time I was out there...

Interesting. Rumor has it that the recently shuttered JCPenney Furniture building at the local mall is going to be a Trader Joe's but I wonder if it's really becoming an Aldi. (They have the same parent company.)
