hey everyone,
new member here :)
i was was reading MMM blog post and he listed that one of his favorites ads are honda and toyota and they dont have affiliate links,
but i was wondering if there is any other way to have the ads posted on your site. either through and agency like CJS ?
or do the companies contact the websites themselves and thats how they get the ad.
i really just want it for social proof but if i get paid at the same time that would be awesome :)

PS or is it just google ads, adsense that all these ads come from ? i still need to make my account and find out if they have to approve you before allowing you to post their ads.

It's very unclear what you are trying to achieve. Do you own a website on which you want to publish ads in order to monetize your site? Or are you asking if MMM has an affiliate link you can use to buy a car, and send the commission his way?

In general I assume big car companies like that either go through huge agencies such as google (in which case as a member of adsense you might have these ads show on your site, but you don't control that), or they might have an affiliate program driven by a third party such as CJ or other (google "toyota affiliate program" <-- at a quick glance, nothing particular surfaced. some companies are known enough that they don't *need* an affiliates program).

In rare cases, for very big sites, it is possible that these companies would deal with you directly. That's assuming you're in the top 5000 Alexa ranked sites or something.

thank you for your reply,
i am creating a website and want to add extra income through ads.
i am setting up my google adsense account and was wondering if they offer the honda or toyora ads i see on many websites. i think i even saw some on the MMM page near the bottom.

yes on the main MMM site there is an add for chevrolet that has the tag "adchoices" at the top right hand corner and i was hoping i could add a few car ads to the site i am creating as well.

so google adsense will pick the ads for you based on how you search for stuff on google chrome ? sorry for the newb question.

the end goal is just to add the car ads to my website, and im trying to figure out if its just a random add i see based on the search engine analytics, or something i can manually request or add.

thanks

so google adsense will pick the ads for you
This is correct. Adsense picks the ads, you don't. Depending on who visits your site, how they found it, what they like, what your site talks about, who pays the most, etc...

Bottom line, if your site is dedicated to cars and all the people who visit it are car fanatics, it is possible that adsense will show lots of ads for cars, car insurance, etc... but you can't really predict it, let alone choose. Their algorithms decide for you.

If you want to show a specific ad, this is typically done through affiliate marketing (CJ  and the like, as you mentioned, but I don't think Toyota/Honda go through mainstream affiliate sites), which is not what adsense is about. Or a direct contract with the company that owns the product, but for that your site would need to have significant visibility already in its niche, IMO.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
