A real life MMM with compromise
« on: June 27, 2014, 06:51:33 AM »
A real MMM would have sold both cars and used bikes we already own. Maybe take the bus or rent a car/taxi sometimes. I live in a world of compromise.

I kept the truck that can carry anything including the RV trailer. More expensive than tent camping but much less expensive that 4 place tickets many times a year.
I sold the 2008 SUV that drank premium gas at 15MPG. Got a 2011 hybrid for 3000$ less that will drink normal gas at 35-40mpg.

All in all a good move I think.
- Wife is happy even with the car downgrade
- Newer car means 3 years more before it dies from rust
- Cheaper car means money in my pocket
- Much better MPG and cheaper normal octane gas
- Still able to go anywhere and carry anything. 2 kids with sports and suburbs makes 2 cars very useful

Now my next challenge is to cut the food bills. Buy to a meal plan and stop throwing away old vegetables and fruits.

Is this supposed to be in the journal section?  Or is there a question?

I'm not sure what's going on here, actually.  :)
I am a former teacher who accumulated a bunch of real estate, retired at 29, spent some time traveling the world full time and am now settled with three kids.

No question. General sharing. I'll just shut up and read only from now on :)

That wasn't what I was implying at all, I was just confused.  Still am.  :)

A, if this was in the Share Your Badassity section, would you still be confused?

A little, based on the title and first paragraph.  That's why I was asking if this should go in the journals section.  That would be okay too though, I guess.  So less confused, yes.  :)
