60 day free amazon kindle unlimited
« on: November 20, 2017, 01:46:12 PM »
Just want to make it know that Groupon has a free coupon code for amazon kindle unlimited for 60 days. If you want to to read some free books. You just subscribe then cancel and you still get your 2 months. Not sure how much longer it will be on there though.

I took advantage of this last week and am enjoying it. (I set a reminder to cancel when the two months is almost over.) You have to wade through a lot of dreck, but there is some very good stuff on there, also. If you are a fan of Dick Francis, I can recommend the three Brian O'Connor books that are on Kindle Unlimited -- gripping horse-racing mysteries.

Awesome I'll have to check out this books. And you don't have to wait to cancel. I did just a few moments after I signed up. It will say something like "you have untill January 18."

Thank you! Just signed up and got my free 60 days and promptly cancelled to eliminate charge on my credit card in January- and loaded up a bunch of interesting books in time for the long weekend here in the USA (many of us take Friday off so a 4 day weekend for many of us).

Thanks very much for the tip!

Who owns a kindle?

Library books seem to be fine with us.

I agree, the library keeps me quite well supplied.

But even without a kindle you can get a kindle app for iOS, Android, Mac, or PC or use the Kindle cloud reader on anything that can access the internet.

You can download free library books to a Kindle (or in my case, a tablet and phone with the Kindle ap) without ever leaving your couch. I read plenty of print books, but there is something truly decadent about spending a snowy or rainy day reading and when I finish one book, I can go to my library's website and download another.

The other thing I really like is that, while I read on my tablet at home, I can access the same books on my phone. If I find myself having to wait at a doctor's office or in line at the post office or whatever, I can pull out the phone and keep reading.

This. I love my kindle and use it almost exclusively for library books. A hint- if you have a kindle and select to have the book downloaded via usb instead of wifi, you can keep the book on your kindle for as long as you want as long as the wifi is off. That way if a whole bundle of books for which I've been on the waitlist come up at the same time, I don't have to worry about whether I'll going to have time to read them all in the next two weeks. Also, I can then return it as soon as I have it downloaded so the next person in line can check it out.
