40TH Birthday ideas for my fiance

She is turning 40 in may.

Not sure what to do. I'm currently debt free but she is not...however working hard on it she is !


I was thinking of maybe buying her a nice relaxing day at a spa since her birthday is on a Wednesday. Maybe she could go after she gets off work.

Then maybe take her for a nice trip into the mountains that following weekend - possibly stay at a nice bed and breakfast...if it's not crazy expensive.

What ideas do you guys/gals have?

1. Bike riding to a healthy restaurant
2. Back massage
3. Print a Calendar. Help her get organized.
4. Think about little things that frustrate her. The sun in her eyes, could her car use a roll down shade? reduce any of the daily things which could be annoying. Have fun on her birthday :)

What does she like to do?  If going to the spa is something she enjoys but doesn't get to do much, then that could be a good idea.  If she likes the outdoors, maybe plan a hike at a state park you haven't been to before.  If you can cook, plan a homemade meal of her favorites.  See if there's any free/cheap events in your area that weekend that she might like.  Find a local art exhibit, concert, etc.  Find something that she likes but doesn't often have the time for, and make the time by making it a gift.

Put yourself in her shoes. What would she want to do for her 40th? Not what you want to do for her.

Weather permitting,  a nice hike somewhere secluded with a nice bottle of wine and picnic lunch. ;)
