Everyone on this forum was very helpful in my last furnace thread.

Now though we've decided we are going to replace the furnace due to age. But we cannot decide if a one stage vs Two-stage, which would be better...

All the research and everything I've done shows a one stage vs Two-stage is cheaper overall for replacement parts and labor costs.

Yet the sales guy is trying to sell us the two-stage. He's trying to convince us that the 2 stage is the best one to go with in terms of heat efficiency and overall lifespan efficiency of the Furnace.

Can anyone offer any advice on a 1 stage vs 2 stage for a home in Michigan or any Midwest area really-that's 2000 square feet-- three levels basement unfinished-- ( we hope to finish this level in a few years)  mid-level and upper upper level is All 4 bedrooms

Anybody? Please. If you need to or have to plan for a new furnace which option would you go with?

Your thread title has 200sf. You might get more responses if you fix that.
