I think I want to join this. I've turned it into a game with the husband, so I think we can really get it down in Feb. The only big expense should be making a campground reservation for the summer, but that's going to be done no matter what, so I won't count that against us. For our daily lives, though, we should be able to get very frugal.
Temptation is all around! Our favorite podcast is doing a live show in NYC, and we have a friend who lives there, so free lodging. We went through the cost of it all and were about to pull the trigger when our friend decided he couldn't swing the expense. Just because it's an affordable trip doesn't mean it's a GOOD IDEA, and that's what I struggle with. We live in SC, for reference, so flights were involved.
A friend at work just invited me to TWO concerts! The only reason I didn't immediately commit is because I am have conflicting plans for one show, and the other happens to be sold out. I need to institute a substantial waiting period before I make any plans, clearly, or all my saving will be for nothing.
