Ooh, nice. I don’t have nearly so well-thought-out a list as you. I want to bike to work the max possible. I’ll give myself one day of free pass for sick/tired/weather/whatever, but that is all.

My coach asked me to think about what my goals are for this year. “2019 is the year of...”? I need to work on figuring that out in feb.
As of the last day of February I have not driven to work once this year. In fact, the last time I drove to work was one day during the big fires last year which was, what, Nov? That part is awesome.

As for the rest, I feel like we are just barely holding our lives together. Pretty much every conversation I have with my husband includes one of us saying “things are really hard right now, but we’ll get through it”.

Some years are just the Year of Hunkering Down or the Year of Keeping It Together. That too is an achievement.
That is a good goal for 2019: keep our shit together.

We’ve been talking more about figuring out how to dial things back at work to reduce stress. My husband and I used to call ourselves Team Awesome. Now we are calling ourselves Team Good Enough. ;-)

@ysette9 - you are legitimately in a really hard life phase. The logistics become different (driving, activities, emotional parenting of older kids, etc), but you are deep into the hardest physical parts of parenting + kids getting sick all of the time + lack of sleep, etc. That part, I promise, does get easier!

We've definitely had years that are about keeping it together. For me, in those years, I try to choose a few very small things I can do to make life more manageable. Making journaling a daily habit, meditating more often, turning 3 meetings a week into walking meetings, riding your bike to work is awesome (you are inspiring me!) Maybe 2019 can be the year of small positive steps?

I like the idea of journaling more. I was thinking just earlier today that I need to make that a priority. I carry my journal with me all the time and yet never crack it open.

Same. I have a nice journal sitting on my nightstand that I never remember to write in. :/ Maybe I need to set an alarm or something.

I made a thread for March, for those who want to continue and/or modify goals this month.

We managed to paint the three small rooms in the house that needed it to prepare for sale.

I also finished a library book that was quite thick. Although i did need an additional 1 1/4 day for it.

Good idea, I enjoyed the January version.
1. Save at least 50% of income. Stretch goal: 55-60%.
2. Go to local bootcamp at least 3 weeks out of 4. (Already missing tomorrow, so I'll have to be disciplined!)
3. Start each day with 5-10 minutes of quick exercise.
4. Do several social things every week, as I now have 2 full days off.

A bit of a belated update:
1. 58.5%, so well within the stretch goal. Yay!
2. I went 3 times.
3. Did not do this - at all. Maybe it was a bit ambitious, as I wake up at 5:10am some days.
4. I did, and as a result even got invited to a wedding in spring.

I’m going to have to break my bike-riding streak this Friday as I have a doctor appointment in the middle of the day. Technically I suppose I could bike there as well, but that would mean spending a total of two hours on Friday on the bike which is just too much to fit into a work day. Bummer, this run has been a good one.

Linda, I've got this on my list for March!

ysette9, I've also got a good streak going for biking! I've resorted to the bus a few times, but other than that it's biking to work for me.
