Oh, geez -- I know you're Canadian and can't help being polite, but I'm getting all foggy-eyed here at the computer. Wish James our best, 'Kay?

Just realized the "carrot" for Sammy doesn't work if I don't announce it.  Donated $44 to the cause of the week.  (Well, almost.  I sent 55 CAD and my CC was charged 43.84 USD.)

Keep it going, Sailor Sam!  I look forward to finding out how much I get to donate (and to what cause) next week.

$5 per reporting period,  bonuses every 4 pounds lost.

So, I have options regarding my donations. I was assuming successful reports. And this was at 80% compliance. Leaving me to decide how many times I'm actually going to donate and if I dock you for missed days.

I have decided that you will be rewarded for each completed reporting period, because honesty should be rewarded. Donation made. Please proceed to achieve more goals.

@Sailor Sam - the boys prepared a menu for us. It may work for you too! (If you can figure out what Thursday is, let me know.)

Chicken noodle soup and grilled cheese

ETA:. Ooh, ooh, ooh! Is Tuesday

Friday appears to be cheese butter?

Your children seem to subsist on mostly cheese.

Is it mean to post menu words like that on a page dedicated to weight change?

I don't like spaghetti, and I can't eat cheese. So I'm personally pretty unfazed.

Posting here so I remember - one of the charities I'm going to donate to is having a event where all donations will be matched if made on May 1st, so I will donate to that one early instead of just saving the lump sum for the end of this.

Maybe I just copy it out here...

Tues: SPeGeDee
Weds: MaKronee aND Chees
Thurs: ChiCkii NooDl soup GrilleD Chees
Fri: Chees Burgers

Now that I look at it, I see you are correct. Cheese is a prominent element in this diet. It may not be suitable for you. The boys are cooking so they can get some badge for their Beaver Blankets.

Shut up. I can hear you giggling from over here.

TIL Little Red Corvette is really about sex, and apparently all Prince songs are about sex. Then again I'm not a Prince fan so the sum total of the lyrics I know for that song are "Liiiiiiittle Red COR-VETTE!"

I had a whiny text conversation with a friend last night, about how slow and boring the weight loss journey is. He suggested more movement, same about of food, faster results. I whined eleventy-billion reasons that wasn't sustainable for me. Probably Friend rolled his eyes a little bit.

Indeed, probably Friend is right. Right now I aim for 30 minutes of vigorous exercise, 3-4 times per week, but I don't get much casual movement. 1 mile of walking is 20 minutes is (almost) 100 calories. Twenty minutes won't break the time management bank, or the trigger the "deficit is too big and now I must die" feeling. One hopes.

I'd venture to say that your friend knows what's what, based upon his own experience on a similar Journey (I've heard it said he was once referred to as the Porky Storky). He would probably say that some extra walking (at a good clip) thrown in wherever possible would be an excellent idea. He would probably also say that excellent music while exercising is key - think about hitting him up for some good workout tunes.

Since I'm in this thread now I may as well say that I'm anxious and eager to donate some funds.

Dark green fleece, sew badges on, for camp (camp usually being indoors).  Cubs have sashes for badges but Beavers have blankets.

Walking at a moderate pace is a mainstay of bodybuilder types cutting body fat for competitions. It burns calories without triggering increased hunger or damaging muscle mass.

I was already going to contribute to James's great escapade, so who can resist the opportunity to double one's bang for the buck? Not Dicey. Also, my local food bank has a sugar daddy matching donor right now, so more doubling up on the horizon. Something else needs to close first, so I will report back when the deeds are done.

Sammy, I'm confident in your success, so I'm going Lump Sum, probably in the next 10 days or thereabouts. I promise not to even look at the spreadsheet before then. Here's to your success! I'm quite looking forward to calling you a loser without fear of pushup-type torture reprisal.

I'm donating in euros and my brain works with kgs, so I'm still thinking on the amount per kg. So far I've donated €10 ($12, so $10 per kg) to Project Aware. Will donate to several charities over time :)

My uniform blouse feels looser. This is nice because them things ain't very forgiving.

Otherwise things continue to be slow and boring, with intermittent periods of gasping like a land whale during induced exercise. I have a goal for the update on the 26th, but curiously weight loss doesn't obey my orders. We'll just have to wait, and see.

I'm in for $500 to my local chapter of the ALS Association* when you swagger over the finish line of your goal in triumph.  It's going to be a banner day!

*You probably already know that ALS hits military folks at a greater incidence than civilians, and having lost someone I loved to it...the choice was clear.

Go go go Tubby-Tubby!

Thanks, @MarciaB! That's a lot of money. I sure better perform.

Yeah, I'm aware of the connection between ALS and the military. It's one of those things that's so heartbreaking I kinda choose to never, ever think about it. At one point, I heard a statistic that veterans are 60% more likely to be diagnosed that veterans.  It's like a ghost that takes people in the night.

Great job on the calories!  I'll try to make my donation before I head off to the middle of nowhere this morning.

Tell me more about this charity, please. Unless you mean Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA), I can only find one organization with this name.  It's in Ohio.

Congrats on sticking to the calorie goal and shedding 1% of body fat! You'll see the scale move down once that new muscle has a chance to contribute to increasing your metabolic rate. Stick with it!

I definitely rolled my eyes and huffed at the scale this morning. At one point I saw 180.0, but of course Report Day would be the day it shot back up. But I ain't worried. The 7 day trend is 1.0 lbs/week. Right where it should be.

Awesome! So we've got 3.2 this time plus .2 from last time (I wasn't going to donate $1) gets me $17, so I'll round up to 20 for Trevor Project. :)

$36 to the Trevor Project, for this period and last (I never got around to the SPCA thing, because the amount was pretty small, and animal-welfare groups in my area are very, very very well supported. I am happy to send that $ over to the Trevor Project.)
