I'm officially on the struggle bus. We moved back onto the ship, but the galley is still closed. That means no place to cook, no reefers to keep food, and over all suckitude with heavy reliance on restaurants. I don't think I've gained, but I'm certainly not losing. Words of encouragement welcome. As are ideas for non-cooking, shelf-stable meals around 400kcal each.
I sort of remember watching an episode of Rachael Ray where she said she spent a summer in Copenhagen (followed by "don't ask").

She lived on this cucumber greek salad thing.  All veggies that don't really need refrigeration - so cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, peppers, olives.  Feta if you can fridge it, but you could do chickpeas or canned chicken or tuna instead.  Olive oil and vinegar.

Without the ability to cook, it's super tricky.  There are some tips here: (traveling tips)
http://mrspetridish.blogspot.com/2015/07/how-to-travel-with-all-of-your-meals.html

I'd focus on fruits, veg, and proteins.  It's gonna get super boring, but:
apples, bananas, oranges
carrots, tomatoes, cucumbers, bagged lettuce if you can eat that stuff, canned/pouched tuna or chicken.
broccoli, cauliflower pre-cut. Snap peas.
Do you have access to any grocery store with salad bars?  That expands the options.
granola bars, oats, nuts

When we travel or go camping, we mostly eat shelf-stable things.  It can get boring fast.

159.9 (72.5kg) this morning, on the official scale, in my skivvies. It's done. I did the thing. I'm off the fat body list, and onto the parole list. I'll have to stay below 160 for the next 12 months, or it's an automatic separation. Plus an additional 24 months afterwards, though that's just suggested separation, instead of automatic separation.

I suspect I'm actually closer to 165, and this is a false low from being miserably sick for 4 days. The dieting will continue until 145lbs, so that I don't have to sweat random weigh-ins that are guaranteed to fall at exactly the wrong time of the month. Then, maybe 130lbs, if I still have some jiggle. But it IS done. Now I just have to keep it done, which is far less stressful and sword of Damocles-like.

For anyone who would like to donate for the last 9 lbs, head over to RideJamesRide. Couldn't have done it without you. All y'all are a fine village.

Awesome! *manly congratulatory fist bump*

P2F! I'm in. I think I'll be creative and donate $1 for the first pound, $2 for the second pound, $3 for the third pound, etc. Increasing rewards for increasing achievements :-)

This worked out to be $292.80, by my math/according to your posts, at least one of which is probably slightly wrong, but also probably close enough :-)  Donations made.

Way to go SS.  Donated $60 to RideJamesRide at the beginning of your weight loss, and donated another $60 2 minutes ago.  Knew you could do it.

Making us do our own math this time around?  I had to go back to check what the deal was... $10/lb?  So I owe James another $90?  Good thing I like those people.

Edit:  Done.  118 CAD ~= 90 USD

Adding to the chorus  of "hurray!"

Congrats!

Also, adding to the $ to RJR -- go James and Prosp!

SS, do you have a plan for, you know, boring old maintenance? Or are you going to continue to go for "loss", as you mentioned, to give yourself some headroom?

Life happens resurrected this, making me realize that we didn't enter final donations into a tracker. How will you calculate without data?

Cripes. There was so much sickness at the end, I ceased caring about the total.

If everyone enters their crap into the tracker, I will post the total.

I'm not sure how you track my crap. I rode a bike, coaxed/coached a kid, and rode a ferris wheel.

You guys boosted our fundraising and motivated/"incentived" us to keep on going.

I wish I could account for how much of our fundraising came through Sam's weightloss, but I cannot. It was a big chunk of it though. The measurable on that is shown in kids learning to walk, teens speaking their first words, parents seeing their first night out in years, young adults who are employable rather than dependents, kids who see selfworth rather than depression and substance dependency, and on, and on.

You want to measure something? Put all that into a blender, hit puree, and see what pours out. Now multiply it by the 3,000 kids on Grandview's waitlist. That's what you all have done.

Mine is in the dirty dish like. My final donation on Sammy success day was 159.9 dollars. I didn't track it because I had seizures and meds and hallucinations related to both. Someone track it.

Or I can blend a bunch of rice j to rice milk when I get home. In my vitamix

I'm in for $500 to my local chapter of the ALS Association* when you swagger over the finish line of your goal in triumph.  It's going to be a banner day!

*You probably already know that ALS hits military folks at a greater incidence than civilians, and having lost someone I loved to it...the choice was clear.

Go go go Tubby-Tubby!

Thanks, @MarciaB! That's a lot of money. I sure better perform.

Yeah, I'm aware of the connection between ALS and the military. It's one of those things that's so heartbreaking I kinda choose to never, ever think about it. At one point, I heard a statistic that veterans are 60% more likely to be diagnosed that veterans.  It's like a ghost that takes people in the night.

So - I must not have pushed the Notify button on this, and just today got to wondering about you and your goal...and you DID THE THING! Congrats sir and well done!

I am mailing off a check to the ALS Association of Oregon and SW Washington tomorrow (in your honor). So proud of you!

160.0 for my April weigh-in. Maximum allowed weight is...160.0.
