My NW is at $662K.  Not sure I will ever hit $1M, but it's nice to think about!  I'm aiming for $800K when I retire in June 2018.

Now up to $709,418.  :)

I'm in the middle here, currently at $712K NW and hoping to hit $1M before August 2019, when I turn 40:

2016 Ending NW $712K
End of year goals for-
2017: $815K
2018: $945K
2019: $1,075K

Quarterly-ish update: $775K as of 4/28/2017, making the year end goal very much in sight, save for any big market changes, which don't worry me that much.  The market will do what it's going to do, I'll focus on what I can control.   I'm getting a little eager for FIRE as I've just gotten into travel hacking.  So travel resources have increased and these points are begging to be used, but it seems I lack time off to get all this traveling done!

Updating -- We are at $651,069 invested + $312,000 house equity = $963,069.   Wow, barring a market downturn we should cross over sometime this summer!  :).  Not counting the kids' 529 accounts.

And at this point (~2 years from FIRE) I am hoping for a downturn so I would have a chance to pour a bunch of cash into cheaper stocks.

Joining in! I didn't expect to ever make it to a million - my FI goal was/is more like 750k but it seems I'm going to pass that before I'm ready to quit. Just doing total NW which includes about 100k of home equity and more cash that I should have in savings right now, too lazy to separate it out. The number jumps the past few years have been crazy, and they have included a lot of overtime that probably won't be replicated going forward so I'll be curious to see how it goes. Even with the lower effective salary happening, I think I'm well into snowballing territory at this point.

April 2017: 720k
March 2017: 711k
Feb 2017: 703k
Jan 2017: 680k
Dec 2016: 650k
Dec 2015: 487k
Dec 2014: 412k
Dec 2013: 350k

Didn't track much before that. I really wish I would have, because I graduated from college in 2007 with a NW of about negative 25k or so thanks to student loans, though I'm very fortunate that I didn't have even more loans and that I was able to get a steady, well-paying job pretty much immediately. Though I'm a planner and did spend a whole lot of time in college trying to get the perfect internships and then job to set myself up for a career I was interested in and that would pay well. But I fully acknowledge good luck played a role, too, and I'm very grateful to be in this position.

Like Scubastache, I wasn't expecting to hit a mill. But now it looks just within reach by the time I plan to pull the plug in Oct. 2019, so I'll join the thread in hopes of getting there! Current NW is $612k. The past year has gone like this:

4/1/2016: 382k
7/1/2016: 425k
10/1/2016: 488k
1/1/2017: 528k
4/1/2017:591k

It really is crazy to see how fast it grows, between stock market gains and a frugal lifestyle.

It's so weird to contrast a thread like this one with the one over on Bogleheads: https://www.bogleheads.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=165943

Over here people are talking about FIRE at 750k, 1m etc. Over there they are talking about getting from 1m to 2m to 10m with no sign of stopping.

I'm never going to join their club (no choice really, the opportunities aren't realistically there for me to earn that much for that long) I am very glad that living frugally is a path to FI even for people who aren't doing the "go to med school, get 100s of thousands in student debt, earn big from 35 to 50 years" thing.

First Post!  New to MMM forums.  Aiming for 2021 to 1M NW.

NW:$593

Cash: $220
IRA/Old 401k: $130
Vanguard: $56
Old Mutual Fund: $11
SEP IRA: $22
Fundrise: $15
Lending Club: $43
Home Equity: $96 (duplex)

I know, I know.  Too much cash.

Was considering getting off the grid or starting a company, but figured I would invest for early retirement before making major lifestyle change given my conservative nature.

Hard to dump 100% of cash into today's stock market so plan to DCA over the next year or so.  Also considering a rental property.

I'm at $494k and I can't wait to join this race. My husband insists we're already in it because I'm low-balling our home value, but I prefer to be a bit conservative.

We're in! We've finally graduated from the $250-500k NW thread. It took about 2 years for our NW to double from $250k to $500k, despite purchasing a house last fall and spending ~$40k in renovations during Q4 2016. May NW total includes ~ $51.5k in home equity (difference between purchase price and mortgage balance only).

Increases so far this year have been pretty crazy, likely unsustainable, but it's been fun so far. I wonder how fast we can get to $1M? Maybe in another two years? Fingers crossed!

Jan 2017: $444,411
Feb 2017: $466,365 (+$21,954)
Mar 2017: $473,859 (+$7,494)
Apr 2017: $496,610 (+$22,751)
May 2017: $509,180 (+$12,570)

Happy to be transitioning from the $500k race!

NW shows $513,000 as of this morning. Past glimpse:

2011: $167,933
2012: $208,846
2013: $308,056 (no expenses, gross income went to investments that year)
2014: $358,723
2015: $371,371
2016: $457,543
June 2017: $513,000

Looking forward to this finish line, since it's about FI for me. My current spreadsheet says 2023; hopefully it'll be sooner than that!

Currently I'm at about 700K in liquid assets, plus or minus a few thousand depending on the markets. My master spreadsheet says I should join the double comma club sometime in 2018. Hope to see you all there!

It's been a while since I checked in, but I'm happy to say I'm ahead of schedule! About $949K at the end of last month.

It's definitely the bull market I have to credit for this, as monthly investing gains are starting to outpace my contributions. If it keeps going at this pace, I'll hit my $1M goal before the end of the year, not 2018 as I originally guessed.

Checked our finances today and we broke 900k in invested assets! Damn, that feels good.  It makes $1m seem right around the corner...this is so freaking exciting.  Trying to take with a grain of salt given markets could tank, but still.  :)

Somewhat embarrassingly, I didn't starting keeping close tabs on my net worth until finding MMM this year. Thankfully, I didn't muck it up too bad up to this point, but I'm hoping to do even better now that I know better! So, let's start here...

6/2017 - $630K; ~$180K in home equity, ~$10K in cash, remainder in investments

I'm happy to move over to this "race"!  Just crossed over $500K this quarter.

Here's my progress thus far:

1/1/2015 - $319,018
3/31/2015 - $358,647
6/30/2015 - $350,887
9/30/2015 - $329,044
12/31/2015 - $340,246
3/31/2016 - $390,030
6/30/2016 - $408.983
9/1/2016 - $447,834
12/31/2016 - $459,043
3/31/2017 - $509,618

Our goal to retire on is $1,000,000 but will need to get to about $1,200,000 first because we want to be done with the mortgage before we call it quits.  Pretty sure we will not be able to keep up the pace as kid's college will be chewing into things for the next 10 years or so, but always good to measure.  Glad to be here!
6/30/2017 - $520,691

Including the equity in our home we are at $921K. So close to $1M. As we are expecting our 2nd child in October it may take a little longer to hit the $1M mark.

I'm sitting in the low $900's right now (including house equity). Took a visit over to the $1 million to $2 million board for inspiration, but actually I think the incredible upward trajectories here are pretty dang inspiring.

Stay strong, guys!

I'm right there with you TallTexan.  Debating whether to hop over to the next thread when total NW crosses over $1M, or hang around here until liquid investments alone cross over.  I love this thread!

was just reminded that I haven't counted a thing called a "Pension" that my employer has for me. They claim its cash value is about $15,000, so I'm that much closer to the goal!

Estimates of NW over the years with more concrete values currently
2011: $40k  Real estate sucked (I'm a realtor and own rentals), income was low and equity was non existent.  Tough times!
2012: $55k
2013: $75k
2014: $160k  Being a realtor and also having a large portion of NW in real estate helped income and value go up drastically. (income $155k) plus asset appreciation
2015: $295k  (income $210k) plus asset appreciation
2016: $505k (income $242k) plus asset appreciation
Started using Mint for tracking in 2017
2017: March $515
         April $500 spent money... :(
         May $521
         June $573
         July $588

Onward and upward.  Only discovered MMM this year.  Good luck to all!

Checked our finances today and we broke 900k in invested assets! Damn, that feels good.  It makes $1m seem right around the corner...this is so freaking exciting.  Trying to take with a grain of salt given markets could tank, but still.  :)

I hit $900,000 today in investments as well.  Feels like a momentous occasion.  And yes markets feel like a towering Jenga game, but let's enjoy it anyway.  ; )

I am joining.  I am now around 510K in cash and normal investments with a disclaimer.  I am not counting equity in my house. Also, Even though i probably should, i am not counting my tiny equity in a local business because its illiquid and probably wont sell anytime soon. I am not counting the valuation of my small oil and gas royalties I get since i don't know what that would be and I don't plan to sell them.
