Stash           Total NW including home equity
3/28/17:   667k           1.208M
4/28/17:   704k           1.193M
5/25/17:   716k           1.244M

9/28/17:   783k           1.384M
10/31/17: 800k           1.411M
11/27/17: 821k           1.432M

2/27/18:   876k           1.512M
3/29/18:   854k           1.515M
5/1/18:     871k           1.542M

Investments still aren't back to where they were in February (almost!) but our home value has rocketed up another 50k this year. And, THAT is why I track them separately and don't consider us to be over 1M until it doesn't included the home equity...we can't move yet anyway.

Same here FireHiker -- our home equity is kind of crazy, so I am sticking around here until liquid assets cross a million . . . I also carve out our 529 plans and don't count those, as they are earmarked for something other than retirement.

The new house appraisal has us up about $9k, but we had a lot of medical bills last month that meant we drained one of the HSAs.  I'm hoping to get reimbursed for some of that.

Still in this race, but only from an investments/cash perspective.

As of close today sitting just over $891K cash/investments

Still hoping to be on track to hit it by EOY, but the market has not been so cooperative. I'm still throwing money at it though.

Joining from the race to 500,000 thread which is based on liquid investments, but will post both since living in Seattle has been good to real estate value lately, but that is more an estimate of what we would get from a sale of our house

May 2018: $502,000 Inv/$852,000 NW

Also joining in on this race, but hoping to jump ship soon!

Below is our quarterly net worth (excluding our home equity)

Feb 2017        $880k
May 2017       $919k
Aug 2018        $918k
Nov 2017        $963k (my annual bonus is paid in Sept)
Feb 2018        $979k

May 2018 MTD $993k

Even if the market stays flat from here we should see an increase before EOM, but itís going to take some luck to find another $7k of savings in less than 3 weeks...

Joining the club.

...

Not sure when/if I'll get to 1m; may semi-FIRE before then.
...

If the market were to stay flat, would probably hit 1m investible around 6 months from now.
Quarterly update, November 2017:

....

Not declaring victory yet though until I have 1m investible and no debt to the bank.
Quarterly update, February 2018:

...

  • Q2 2018: 1,108k liquid + 392k home equity: total 1,500k (debt: 131k)
  • Q1 2018: 1,075k liquid + 409k home equity: total 1,484k (debt: 141k)
  • Q4 2017: 1,005k liquid + 332k home equity: total 1,337k (debt: 189k)
  • Q3 2017: 894k liquid + 313k home equity: total 1,207k (debt: approx 193k)
  • Q2 2017: 720k liquid + 250k home equity: total 970k (debt: approx 228k)
So, net worth hits $1.5m for the first time (up $530k YoY), and now we're above $1.1m in liquid/investible assets (up $388k YoY). Currently $23k away from having enough to pay off all debt (gap closed by $485k YoY, debt down $97k YoY) and still have $1m liquid/investible. Once I have that, I'll be ready to declare victory (and graduation from this thread).

Well, I'm in the $1M to 2M race thread for total NW, but I think I'll join this thread for my liquid NW.

1/1/16: $455k / 675k
1/1/17: $555k / 822k
1/1/18: $735k / 1.071M
5/17/18: $765k / 1.112M

Dang, that's not much progress this year despite upping my savings rate.  Must grow faster.

I've been a slacker on tracking this out of self preservation. My ex-other half remains unemployed (passing all child-related costs we are supposed to split evenly solely to me), and I've paid for 2 international trips for 2 people in the past couple of months, yet somehow, if one ignores the insane market blip that was January, I'm not losing ground. Looking forward to seeing the year-over-year numbers come August! :-)

Numbers for end of month:
Month Year: Investments
June 2017: 504K
July 2017: 523K
Add in home value - debts; net worth as second number:
Aug 2017: 533K / 666K
Sep 2017: 539K / 679K
Oct 2017: 551K / 698K
Nov 2017: 561K / 711K
Dec 2017: 569K / 724K
Jan 2018: 589K / 751K
Feb 2018: 577K / 741K
May 2018: 585K / 744K

Stash (NW):
April 9, 2016:  $319,737
April 16, 2017: $379,833

March 8, 2018: $500,818
March 30, 2018: $505,467 ($924,670)
April 30, 2018:  $510,215 ($937,731)
May 31, 2018: $514,410 ($950,830)

Shash includes cash on hand, and we just gave $10K to a family member as a gift so not the growth I was hoping for this month, but better than a decline. Using Zillow for home equity and pay little attention to the fluctuations although the market is pretty hot where I am.

01/01/17 £374668
01/01/18 £497097
01/02/18 £500655
01/03/18 £497804
01/04/18 £492551
01/05/18 £503531
01/06/18 £519609

Mid way through the year now.  Only put on £22.5k to the NW this year so far which is disappointing.
I probably contributed about £30-£32k into the stache so an overall loss, even worse if you look at property values etc as they seem to have stalled.
Hopefully we will see some growth in the later end of the year.  Pension seems to be ticking along ok though this year +5% for first 6mo.  ISAs doing ok +4.5%.
I have reduced my 2018 goal from 600k to 560k.

Monthly check in, counting retirement investments only (no real estate, and no college savings accounts).  Moving up:

               Invested (+/-)
5/1/17 --    $631k
6/1/17 --    $647k (+$16k)
7/1/17 --    $655k (+$8k)
8/1/17 --    $665k (+$10k)
9/1/17 --    $672k (+$7k)
10/1/17 --  $684k (+$12k)
11/1/17 --  $702k (+$18k)
12/1/17 --  $724k (+$22k)
1/1/18  --   $731k (+$7k)
2/1/18  --   $761k (+$30k)
3/1/18  --   $737k (-$24k)
4/1/18 --    $731k (-$6k)
5/1/18 --    $738k (+$7k)
6/1/18 --    $747k (+$9k)

May was an absolute bloodbath of spending for us ($7000 on medical issues +$600 planned, kid's camp fees).   Our increase this month was almost entirely market movement.

Will post an update tomorrow after wife's 457 contributions post.  During June of 2018 I anticipate 1) taking on a $2,900 debt for a tooth implant and 2) blowing about $3,000 on new rings for our anniversary.  That will likely make June a flat month at best.

Our investments finally climbed back higher than the end-of-February numbers!  We have had about 12k in unexpected expenses so far this year - medical and legal - which drained one of the HSAs and the cash accounts, so I'm really glad to see we aren't getting too far off track.

If I take out the 10k in catastrophic-these-won't-ever-repeat-for-sure expenses, then our spending is averaging about $550/month less than last year!

I am expecting a nice increase in June due to two lump sum payments, and my wife has decided to go back to work so we will have more money to stash into savings. It was nice enjoying some time while we were both off work / in between jobs, but I like seeing the income go back up.

It is a month after hitting the two comma club on TNW, yet it still doesn't feel all that impressive to me. I am hoping when we hit that level with the liquid investments here that it feels a little more exciting haha. I'm still holding out hope that I might hit the target before the end of the year, but it will in large part depend on how the market behaves.

Jan 2017: $444,411

Mar 2017: $473,859 (+$7,494)
Apr 2017: $496,610 (+$22,751)
May 2017: $509,180 (+$12,570)
Jun 2017: $522,280 (+$13,100)
Jul 2017: $539,829 (+$17,549)
Aug 2017: $547,156 (+$7,327)
Sept 2017: $568,755 (+$21,599)
Oct 2017: $588,681 (+$19,926)
Nov 2017: $612,643 (+$23,962)
Dec 2017: $628,029 (+$15,386)
Jan 2018: $664,203 (+$36,174)
Feb 2018: $662,419 (-$1,784)
Mar 2018: $667,963 (+$5,544)
Apr 2018: $687,251 (+$19,288)
May 2018: $713,039 (+25,788)

A very respectable increase in May, despite a pretty spendy month overall. The 9-day vacation we took was 100% worth it, however! I'm revising my end of year NW goal to 820k. Here's hoping the market can get us there...

Feb 2018 -  880K / 1.02M
Mar 2018 -  859K / 1.00M
Apr 2018 -  855K /   996K

Jun 2018  - 875K / 1.02M

Also joining in on this race, but hoping to jump ship soon!

Below is our quarterly net worth (excluding our home equity)

Feb 2017        $880k
May 2017       $919k
Aug 2018        $918k
Nov 2017        $963k (my annual bonus is paid in Sept)
Feb 2018        $979k

May 2018 MTD $993k

Even if the market stays flat from here we should see an increase before EOM, but itís going to take some luck to find another $7k of savings in less than 3 weeks...

May 2018 numbers are in:

Feb 2017        $880k
May 2017       $919k
Aug 2018        $918k
Nov 2017        $963k
Feb 2018        $979k
May 2018       $991k

Lower than I had hoped as banks shares in particular have plummeted in the last couple of weeks thanks to the royal commission highlighting pockets of appalling behaviour by some of our banks. And we were in Iceland in March which was crazy expensive (but fabulous!)

Hoping to crack the $1m by the end of July.

Adding numbers for June.  I'm soooo close on total NW ... but still have a ways to go invested/cash.

                    Invested/Cash    Total NW
End of 2015  $513k                $752k
End of 2016  $574k                $820k
10/1/17        $670k                $921k
11/1/17        $679k                $931k
12/1/17        $693k                $944k
1/1/18          $701K                $954k
2/1/18          $730k                $993k
3/1/18          $708k                $972k
4/1/18          $710k                $974k
5/1/18          $710K                $974k
6/1/18          $725K                $990k

Dec. 2017: $502k
Jan. 2, 2018: $513.7k
Feb. 5, 2018: $539.9k
Mar. 5, 2018: $543.6k
Apr. 2, 2018: $557.6
Apr. 30, 2018: $574.5k

June 4, 2018: $616.2k

Sold my car for a $13k boost + a gain to investments + an extra $800 this month for a side hustle.

It's a bit crazy to me that we've gone up over $100k since the start of the year! Amazing how good habits and good investments compound over time. Now we're officially over halfway to our FIRE target number which is pretty exciting indeed. Took me 6 years to get here; bet I can get the next half faster =D

Still in this race, but only from an investments/cash perspective.

As of close today sitting just over $891K cash/investments

Still hoping to be on track to hit it by EOY, but the market has not been so cooperative. I'm still throwing money at it though.

Sitting at $934.5K right now for cash and investments. I should be in good shape to make my goal of $1M by EOY.

Hi!
Back at the end of Feb, I jumped ship on the race from 250-500k thread. And then trade wars happened.

I've been patiently waiting for enough of a buffer to build up, but I think I'm confident we are here now.

(Numbers do not include property, just cash and investments)

Aug-2014: 30k

Aug-2016: 65k

Aug-2017: 250k
Sep-2017: 277k
Sept-2017: 290k
Nov-2017: 300k
Dec-2017: 300k
Jan-2018: 499k <- HCOL House sale
Feb-2018: 502k
March-2018: 500k

April-2018: 512k!

May-2018: 523.7k
*One of my accounts isn't linking properly to mint, this may be slightly higher but I'm too lazy to check.

I'm now on mat leave, but our investments are really where we are seeing the gains these days, it is exciting when your money starts making more than you do in a month!

June update:

Our Stash (NW):
1/2018 - $565,049
2/2018 - $560,628
3/2018 - $573,526
5/2018 - $601,628
6/2018 - $624,739  -  market moves + debt pay down!

Anticipate slower growth over the summer months as debt pay down slows to do home repairs and pay for various summer camps.

Well, after a volatile winter/ spring, I'm happy that NW seems solidly over the 600k mark.

Liquid this morning shows $624k, and I'm closing on selling my house next week. Here's hoping I make 2018's NW increase goal in June!

Happy to be transitioning from the $500k race!

NW shows $513,000 as of this morning. Past glimpse:

2011: $167,933
2012: $208,846
2013: $308,056 (no expenses, gross income went to investments that year)
2014: $358,723
2015: $371,371
2016: $457,543
June 2017: $513,000
June 2018: $624,000

At $926K.

IF the markets stay flat, my income in the next month will put me into the double comma club.  Yes, I know that's a big IF.  :)

Original Goals
2016 Ending NW $712K
End of year goals for-
2017: $815K
2018: $945K
2019: $1,075K

Revised Goals
2018: $1,050K
2019: $1,210K

Actuals

04/28/2017  $775K
08/31/2017  $824K
12/31/2017  $899K
01/31/2018  $924K
02/28/2018  $922K
03/31/2018  $905K
04/30/2018  $921K
05/31/2018  $947K

Would really love to hit $1M by August (I turn 39)! If it happens it'll be a market based win, we save about $5,350/month.  So savings alone won't get us there.  We are tracking slightly below meeting our year end goal.  No RE, about $85K is kids 529s, all else is investments.

Getting close decided to take some increases on the house still well under the value I and Zillow think it's worth. Should hit it by my 32 bday in November. Should hit 1MM invested by April next year. Over 1 year and 3 months ahead of my projections.
