Drummmrollll....

Aug-2014: 30k

Aug-2016: 65k

Aug-2017: 250k
Sep-2017: 277k

Jan-2018: 499k <- HCOL House sale
Feb-2018: 502k

WAHOO!

This has been a high spend month, as well as not a great month investment wise, so once our spending levels out again (after moving costs, and new house costs), it will be great to see this number grow. Hopefully I won't be back on this thread :). Catch ya'll on the flip side!

That's awesome. Congrats.

Historic
13-Jul     $0
13-Dec   $6,153
14-Dec   $49,012
15-Dec   $101,290
16-Dec   $179,750

This Year / This Quarter

The markets giveth, and the markets taketh away.

Honestly, it's pretty cool just to see the snowball rolling itself, even if it's defying gravity for the moment.

9/1/16: $217,000
10/1/16: $220,000
11/1/16: $232,000
12/1/16: $234,500
1/1/17: $238,500
2/1/17: $245,000
3/1/17: $254,000
4/1/17: $252,000
5/7/17: $262,000
6/30/17: $271,000
9/1/17: $285,000
10/1/17: $296,000
3/1/18: $286,000

So I quit my very high paying high stress job in October and went on a long overdue 3 month vacation, which was pretty great!  I've completely changed careers and am just starting a 100% commission based position, so it'll be interesting to see how this goes moving forward.  Pleasantly surprised by how high my net worth remains after 4 months of no salary and relatively high spending on my (and SO's) part :)

Been a few months since I updated on here. Last month has been the biggest fall in our investments ever, just over £14k.

However the blow was softened slightly with my monthly cash invoice into the business account (I'm a contractor in IT).

Jan 2017 - £346,854
Feb 2017 - £388,581
Mar 2017 - £396,119
Apr 2017 - £401,345
May 2017 - £399,619
Jun 2017 - £411,132
Jul 2017 - £409,299
Aug 2017 - £413,486
Sep 2017 - £415,586
Oct 2017 - £434,692
Nov 2017 - £438,434
Dec 2017 - £452,034
Jan 2017 - £456,088
Feb 2017 - £467,243
Mar 2017 - £463,199

Target is for £500k by June 2018.

Onwards and upwards!

Down about $1k- market losses from the dip, which were somewhat offset by a pretty substantial uptick in the price of my RSUs in my company's stock. I've still got my 401k contributions and I was able to throw some extra cash into my taxable account to buy during the dip!

Welp this wasn't the most fun month.  I was back into the 260s a couple days ago, but the last couple days with the market has definitely made a big impact, plus the bit I have in crypto is not doing super hot either.  I've been spending a lot booking tickets and tours for an upcoming trip to Taiwan and Vietnam and paying for both me and my boyfriend, so that definitely adds to some of the amount, plus needing to be reimbursed for a work trip, but the amount would still have been positive had it not been for the market...Here's to next month.  Just glad I was able to stay in this group.

12/1/2017: INV-$256,324.07    NW-$266,011.53

1/1/2018: INV-$265,731.22    NW-$277,837.89

3/1/2018: INV-$284,266.50    NW-$297,619.99

Net loss due to market correction and purchasing vanities + appliances for the house.  We are finally back in after the flood.  Still waiting on $20K check from mortgage company and to settle final costs with our contractor.  There are some punch list items that need to be fixed before we will give him final payment and he is taking his sweet time scheduling the work.

If I look at cash and securities only (not counting rental equity or primary residence equity) I belong on this thread

1/2016  $137K
1/2017  $154K
9/2017  $244K  (cash out refinance of primary residence in June)

conservative projections:
12/2018  $300K
12/2020  $400K
 6/2022   $500K

remodeling our house- so a decrease

3/2018   $208K  includes 0% credit card debt that will be paid off with HELOC when 0% rate expires in a few months.   Still expecting $300K by the end of 2018

Never thought I'd see the day that I would post in this race! But here I am, checking in. Pure insanity.

Might as well start this off clean with no nested quotes. The highlights:

2014 - $115,000
2015 - $161,000
2016 - ?
Early 2017 - $235,000
Year End 2017 - $253,000

And as of now, with values rounded for ease:

Assets

Primary Residence Value - $175,000
Commercial Property Value - $55,000
Vacant Property - $15,000
Newest Real Estate Deal - $12,000
Retirement Assets - $25,000
Cash Assets - $34,000
Vehicular Assets - $16,000

Liabilities

Primary Mortgage - $1000
Secondary Mortgage - $38,000

Net Worth - $293,000

So actually I'm clocking in a little late. The biggest jump was due to the fact that we just got a property appraisal done last week, and the conservative estimate came in $25,000 higher than I've been factoring. I am both overjoyed, and overwhelmed, to be here. Can I actually manage to graduate out of this tier of the race? I guess we're going to find out!

I've commented on this before, I still think you need to have your own blog (or drop the URL). You are a pretty good example of "what can be" with a full on buy in for someone who finally saw the light.

Never thought I'd see the day that I would post in this race! But here I am, checking in. Pure insanity.

Might as well start this off clean with no nested quotes. The highlights:

2014 - $115,000
2015 - $161,000
2016 - ?
Early 2017 - $235,000
Year End 2017 - $253,000

And as of now, with values rounded for ease:

Assets

Primary Residence Value - $175,000
Commercial Property Value - $55,000
Vacant Property - $15,000
Newest Real Estate Deal - $12,000
Retirement Assets - $25,000
Cash Assets - $34,000
Vehicular Assets - $16,000

Liabilities

Primary Mortgage - $1000
Secondary Mortgage - $38,000

Net Worth - $293,000

So actually I'm clocking in a little late. The biggest jump was due to the fact that we just got a property appraisal done last week, and the conservative estimate came in $25,000 higher than I've been factoring. I am both overjoyed, and overwhelmed, to be here. Can I actually manage to graduate out of this tier of the race? I guess we're going to find out!

Amazing progress psinguine!!!!!

Thank you very much for the kind words!

I actually did start a blog last year, but there's not much going on. I think I was still a little uncertain of what exactly my niche was, and then just as I was finding my voice my life got very very busy.

And honestly I don't expect things to change any time soon. My wife and I just picked up another real estate deal, the biggest we will have ever done by the time all is said and done, and I'm running around in 10 directions at once trying to keep it together. My boss gave me some advice when I went to him for kind words: "The first couple hundred thousand you spend are the hardest. It gets easier after that."

I'm sure it's true. But somehow it does little to lessen the tension.

Hi, I'd like to join. Love seeing everyone's progressive, very motivating :)

I only track quarterly.

January numbers £41,916 (liquid), total net worth £348,747. I think, realistically, we should be able to reach £500,000 by April 2022.

I've also joined the race to £100k.

Happy saving!

2017
Code: [Select]
Date             Assets           Debts          Net Worth
October 2017 $370,483.90 -$120,007.15 $250,476.80
December 2017 $382,100.79 -$121,838.12 $260,262.67

2018
Code: [Select]
Date             Assets           Debts          Net Worth
January 2018 $390,088.91 -$119,841.70 $270,247.21
February 2018 $393,016.96 -$118,184.89 $274,832.08
March 2018 $388,528.30 -$117,901.07 $270,627.23

Calculating a bit early because I have no more bills and got my last paycheck of the month -- definitely feeling the hit to the market! Down $8500 just between Vanguard and Fidelity alone (no idea how much I've lost on my other/smaller accounts - just have the balances).

I had a 403(b) contribution go missing, and I wrote down the value of my car and moto; that plus losses sends my balances lower. I also started manually calculating my NW using a spreadsheet; I had been using Personal Capital before but the site kept losing accounts, making it worse than useless.

Big month for income. Logged dividends (+) and market value changes (-) for the quarter. Relatively low spending and high income made up for a mild negative quarter. However, a lot of cash will go towards 2017 taxes and 2018 Q1 estimated taxes next month.

I was waiting for you to blow right by us :) Maybe next month?

Our last two months were busy. We gutted and rebuilt our bathroom and all of the problems came with a higher price tag than expected. We got approval for our garage and have been getting quotes for a stick build and finished building. And we're now also simultaneously cleaning out a room for our new little bundle expected later this year. Nothing like have a ton of big expenses coming to make you want to find every penny of savings and extra income possible.

We cut back on taxable investments so we can have some extra cash laying around. SO is supposed to get a raise in April/May which should help too.

Haven’t posted for a few months.  Time to catch up (and face reality, ha):

June 1, 2017: $349,328
July 1, 2017: $362,675
Aug. 1, 2017: $373,748
Sept. 1, 2017: $378,549 (bought a new house...I know, I know)
Oct. 1, 2017: $389,829
Nov. 1, 2017: $396,444
Dec. 1, 2017: $407,245
Jan. 1, 2018: $412,626
Feb. 1, 2018: $433,521 (investments did well; saved a bit extra)
March 1, 2018: $418,873 (bought furniture; investments got pummeled)
April 1, 2018: $410,875 (more investment losses; minimal savings)

Not discouraged by the market losses at all.  I can buy more shares at this price.  Hope the prices/PE ratios continue to adjust to more realistic levels (until I need to start withdrawing, of course).

Net worth not counting house equity (cash and stock funds):

Jan 2017: $305,000
Mar 2017: $340,000
June 2017: $368,000
Dec 2017: $439,000
Apr 2018: $492,000

Market volatility/slowdown makes me feel better about the progress(vs inflated from a booming market). We got a push from big bonuses at work. Will pass $500,000 soon 😁.

I'll join in (also just tracking investments) :)

1 January 2018   - $295,835.
1 April 2018        - $305,001.

My goal is for $500k Q1 2021. Not setting any records at that pace, but it is what it is.
