Another stellar month thanks to the strength of our investments.  EXAS stock in particular continues to power our growth (see the "Shoot, I Stock Picked" thread in Investor Alley).

For the year we are up $132k which is 77.3%.  Astounding.

16th March 2017 - $156,970.56
14th April 2017 - $172,158.80 (+$15,188.24)
18th May 2017 - $187,986.35 (+$15,827.55)
18th June 2017 - $219,742.03 (+$31,755.68) Whatever small amount I had in cryptocurrencies went bonkers 😳
14th July 2017 - $200,846.03 (-$18,896) - Vanguard dropped over 5% and the crypto portfolio dropped 34%. Additionally I paid for house renovation, moving, bond, and prepaid the rent. So the drop may look dramatic but it's really where it was 6 weeks ago. Also I own way more Vanguard units now than during the last update.
17th August 2017 - $228,106.09 (+$27,260.06) - Back on track, although I still have some big expenses coming up in the near future. Hoping to graduate by the end of October 2017.
26th September 2017 - $228,382.36 (+$276.27) - cryptos went down by the same amount as what I saved. I'm done with the big house related expenses now.
13th October 2017 - $256,067.92 (+$27,685.56) - Looks like I'm done here. Markets went back up + I'm back to big savings. My portfolio is pretty volatile due to the crypto exposure so it may come back under 250k at any point of time. Rebalancing would trigger massive tax so I'm leaving it for now. See you in the next thread. Good luck all!

Hi all, just graduated from <250k thread a couple of weeks ago so now I’m here. I’m actually thinking of including investment property and retirement accounts from now on, as it helps me being interested in their worth and manage them better.

Joining late to the game!

2017 progress:

Jan 17: $287k
Feb 17: $301k (partially accounted for by 2016 bonus)
Mar 17: $304k
April 17: $316k
May 17: $322k
June 17: $326k

Automatic savings of $1500/month in my 401(k), and usually deposit $3-4k into Vanguard per month, right after my paychecks hit.  I could probably stand to increase that.

Update:

November 17: $365k.

DH started a job this month, and his whole paycheck goes straight to Vanguard.

So spending was pretty awful this month. (Travel + eating out + drinking, camera purchase, apparel, and healthcare/pet costs didn't help.) And I'm now a contractor, so I get paid the hours I work, but we had a vacation planned. So the two paychecks I did get were a lot smaller than I can expect going forward. Still, positive movement. Just not as much as I'd prefer to see. So far, $150k in a little under 2 years. $400k is just around the corner!

Jog my memory, those figures are combined with your wife right?

Starting 10/2016 - $310,000 (rough estimate since we still have a few accounts left to be merged)
11/2016 - $328k
12/2016- $347k
1/2017 $358.7k
3/2017 - $367.2
5/2017 - $382.2
6/2017-$395.0k
7/2017 - $419.3k
10/2017 - $441.9k

11/2017 - $473.4k - husbands annual bonus + market + high savings rate led to this huge uptick. Looks like we should reach $500k by Q1 with our normal savings rate.

Another month down, another bit closer to 500k (in non-house assets).
Our house got an offer, and in January we will liquidate the assests!!! Yay!!

10k growth this month was not too bad considering we are down to one income and still paying a high mortgage on the house. Mr.HH has had a few interviews and hopefully will have a job soon, bumping up our income and saving rate!

1/1/2017:  $170,881  (start of tracking)
2/1/2017:  $183,768
3/1/2017:  $197,020
4/1/2017:  $202,363

11/1/2017:  $302,991
12/1/2017:  $303,901

I thought for sure this would be our first down month.  My individual stocks drifted lower and we had about $2500 in dog expenses.  First we had her teeth cleaned to the tune of about $700.  Then a couple weeks later she had a bout of pancreatitis which necessitated 2 days at the vet on IVs.  She was one sick, sad pupper-dog.  Of course there was no question that we'd have her treated and thankfully she is now back to her normal, happy self.

So I was a bit worried while adding up the numbers tonight.  Thanks largely to a big jump in my wife's 401k and HSA accounts we managed to eke out a small gain.  So the streak continues...

Starting 10/2016 - $310,000 (rough estimate since we still have a few accounts left to be merged)
11/2016 - $328k
12/2016- $347k
1/2017 $358.7k
3/2017 - $367.2
5/2017 - $382.2
6/2017-$395.0k
7/2017 - $419.3k
10/2017 - $441.9k
11/2017 - $473.4k

12/2017 - $482.5k - getting so close!! I do have to say hitting these milestones feels less exciting than it used to; guess it's the boring truth of getting rich - no big lottery win just slow and steady progress to retirement.

Top of the muffin to y'all.  Just graduated the 100-250K thread so hopping in on this one so I don't lose any motivation.

12/1/2017: INV-$256,324.07    NW-$266,011.53

NW used to be a lot higher before an asshole named Harvey destroyed all our equity.  Large amounts of money are still in limbo due to contractors and the mortgage company dragging their feet on everything and we still have to buy appliances for the house eventually.  I can't wait till everything calms down and we can get back to normal again.

edited because I can't spell :/

My net worth is up more than 80k this year, which is approximately my earnings after taxes. High savings rate and huge market gains early in the year made it happen.

I can make it spookier! I also have a small terrier, who had pancreatitis in Nov. Doggo is 16-ish, and was so sick I afriad it was the end. But she bounced back, and is once again spry and wagging.

I read this thread 2 seconds after reading EngineerYogi announcing that her dog has pancreatitis.... I was confused, and spooked.

Hmmm, I guess we have proof that posting to these forums is bad for your dog's health...

Jan 2017 $368k
Feb 2017 $390k includes 20k windfall from an inheritance.
Mar 2017 $396k
Apr 2017 $398k
May 2017 $404k
June 2017 $408k

Sept 2017 $432k
Oct 2017 $440k
Nov 2017 $448k
Dec 2017 $450k
Unbelievable considering we had a tax bill of almost $5k and one of our direct shares lost almost $6k off the value. Quite randomly and has since come back a little.  I had 3 pay days this month so that helped.

Welcome afuera, JLee & Frugal_NYC.

Congrats mizzourah2006.

Crap, I added 10K to my NW this last month! Some of it was market gains (nice to see your accounts go up 1K in one day), but I also managed to stick to my budget this month and sock away a little extra.

For next year, I'm going to set a goal of reaching $400,000. I have no idea how I will do it, but what the hell. If tax reform passes it will remove one avenue of savings (I contribute to both a 403(b) and 457(b)) but I'll figure something out.
