   Jul 1, 2016      -$19,048
   Jan 1, 2017      -$25,189     <--Found MMM
   Jan 1, 2018       $110,473
   Feb 1       $116,237
   Mar 1       $122,184
   Apr 1       $122,764
   May 1       $129,950
   June 1       $149,174
   July 1       $154,992            (+5818)

I only count investment accounts minus loans (low interest student loans). TFSA full, RRSP started. That should accelerate things this year until it fills up in November, market contracted a bit near the end of the month but still growing.

Edited for spelling.

07/09/18 - $120,886 invested + no debts + paid for condo & car + one months emergency fund (should really be more, but investing it gives a better return).

Keep the momentum even as I report a staggering number of Julius Pepperwood novels having been sold! I shall post the "Challenge within a Challenge" on July 16th.

I wish I could join but I’m a bit too far behind you guys.  I was at like $155k 2 weeks ago.  I’m not gaining 100k net worth in 5.5 months.

Lol, its taken an unrepeatable Herculean effort to get 75k net worth in the preceding 6 months.  Additionally, I wouldn’t sacrifice time with our baby for a few extra bucks.

Joining in - adding $5500 a month roughly

June 2018.  $219,320

Appears the market is up because I did not put in anything extra this month.

July 2018. $228483

Going to be mostly dependent on the market for me.  Don't think my savings can overcome a flat/down market in the next 6 months to get to $250k.

Dec2017: 184,268
Jan2018: 191,980
Feb2018: 204,625
Mar2018: 201,747
Apr2018: 184,058 [started tracking investments only]

Lost a couple months of tracking because I changed my investment passwords so personal capital didn't update. This was of course during the same months that I took out a temporary 401k loan, bought a house with my fiance, sold the condo, and put the money back. I still have about 30k in profit from the condo sale, but will wait until we figure out whether we need to do some attic repairs before I put it toward investments.

Column 1: investments (retirement + otherwise):
Column 2: total net worth (including investments, savings account and the paid off part of the house)
 7/17/17    $182,905   $301,487
 8/17/17    $184,943   $301,381
 9/17/17    $191,576   $308,692
10/17/17   $197,557   $314,090
11/17/17   $201,230   $315,249
12/17/17   $210,178   $328,245
1/17/18     $225,531   $340,364
2/17/18     $224,612   $342,742
3/17/18     $226,810   $339,652
4/17/18     $227,061   $340,423
5/17/18     $230,609   $349,921
6/17/18     $238,269   $360,523
7/17/18     $241,997    $364,204

My first year of tracking done!  Not bad considering we had a baby this year and this includes paid hospital bills, a month of unpaid time off and childcare expenses.
Looking to do even better next year!
More stable income from SO should be starting next month, which will be wonderful.

Graduation from this thread is nigh!

Invested Total, which is what I am actually tracking is starting to progress again now that I am back at work from maternity leave.  Took a hit on the rental because apparently our property manager did not feel the need to tell us it had gotten into such bad repair over the years and the realtor market assessment was really not good.  The value reflected is after we replace the roof, gutters, fesica, and soffit all of which is scheduled for this month.

I will join in the race but only counting my "Early Retirement stash". So this does not include my emergency-fund, pension capital, or payed-off residence.

These are the "end of the month" numbers:
Month      Early Retirement Stash
Jan 2016   €  58,971.00
...
Jan 2017   €  86 368.00
...
Jan 2018   € 119 817.00
Feb 2018   € 118 464.00
Mar 2018   € 115 094.00
Apr 2018   € 122 622.00
May 2018   € 128 787.00
Jun 2018   € 130 283.31

Jul 2018    € 135 595.00

First number is retirement savings, second is total NW including cash emergency savings and real estate equity.

January 2015: $98,619

January 2016: $101,235
December 2016: $140,779 (total NW $269,089)

January 2017: $151,307 (total NW $276,052)
December 2017: $193,677 (total NW $364,276)

January 2018: $203,876
February 2018: $200,867 (total NW $382,740)
March 2018: $196,371 (total NW $393,470)
April 2018: $197,690 (total NW $397,029)
May 2018: $201,800 (total NW $372,420) hit with a special assessment at the condo
June 2018: $202,198 (total NW $376,525)
July 2018: $208,954 (total NW $380,041) Starting a new job in August which will finally allow me to max out my 401(k)

I know the total NW is over $250k but I'm focused on retirement only for this challenge. A good chunk of the NW is real estate equity.

4/30/17: $116,557

4/18: $148,621
5/18: $153,220
6/18: $157,062

7/18: $166,413

Back on track! Saved about $6k this month, with some market tailwind added in. On track to save another 6K next month. The biggest perk is my income has been increasing quickly, so living the same lifestyle I'm now saving about 70% post tax income.

Just got inducted into the race to 250k. Shouldn't be here for more than a year or so with the temporary assignment I am on. (Expat)

Last 2 months

June 1st 99417
July 1st  109417

Edit, this is excluding home equity which is probably 40k.

Hope to not be here long!!

June 1st         99417
July 1st          109417
August 1st      121085

Making good progress in the first 3 months to my goal of 250k... Markets are in question.

JULY UPDATE

03/01/18: $100,871
04/01/18: $104,410
05/01/18: $109,333
06/01/18: $111,851
07/01/18: $115,134
08/01/18: $118,949 => $3,815 increase ($2,552 contributions, $654 gains, $609 debt pay down)

Another great month considering I am still on parental leave. I return to work at the end of August, so expect a smallish increase next month, as there will be no new contributions. Hopeful that we can crank up savings again starting in September. Also, have some uncertainty going forward regarding my wife's percription medication. Approx cost is about $2400 a month, so hoping my company health plan will help in that regard. 🤞

"CHALLENGE WITHIN A CHALLENGE!"*

June

Canadian Ben  $221,000
Nick Miller   $217,559.28
Virtus    $213,000.00
moonpalace  $186,416.00

July

Nick Miller $231,046.53
@Canadian Ben $225,900.00
@Virtus $220,000.00
@moonpalace $190,600

DAMN we cranked it up a total of $29,571.25 in just one month. Nice job, ladies and gents! (not making any assumptions)

Does anyone else want in on this sweet action?

(*most meta name for anything ever)

June - $208,027
July - $216,157

Going to be mostly dependent on the market for me.  Don't think my savings can overcome a flat/down market in the next 6 months to get to $250k.

Challenge within a Challenge - August

I am up to $220,843 - $29,157 away from the goal.  I start a new job on Monday which will give me a 12% increase in salary.  So that should help.  I still think it's going to be dependent on the market being slightly up these final five months to get to $250K.

Had a small settlement check come in mid month, but that isn't accounting for half of the increase.  I don't know where that increase came from, but I'll take it.  Went over budget by less than $100.  This month I'm already getting hit for the annual insurance on cars.  Pro-rated it is fine, but I save money by taking my lumps all at once.

Still hoping to graduate, optimistically, in April, pessimistically, end of 2019.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
