Happy new year, everyone! It's been a good start to the year for my finances. My stretch goal will be to graduate from this thread by the end of this year, if the markets are kind enough. I'm aiming to be stricter with my spending this year and seeing how much I can push the numbers up.

On a side note, I've also just hit $400k total net worth if I include my government-mandated savings accounts - our 401k equivalent! Still can't believe it.

Fighting! Let's have a good year ahead! ^^

Bravo, @Fifo . $50k+ gains in one year... awesome!

I enjoy reading about the lifestyle options some of you are pursuing and the big savings gains because of it. Before my current relationship I had some very frugal ways of living but my SO is not one for budgeting so we have very different expenditure levels than I would on my own..but he also owns a house which has quadrupled in value (and which I am part-owner of now) so I can’t complain about his cheese consumption too much. Good work though to those of you making some awesome decisions for your future self!

I can definitely relate, @Serendip. My SO is more spendy than I am, and not such a planner. Yet between the two of us, we have still accumulated what is already a nice stash and growing. I am sure you have a positive influence your partner

Feb 1st - $167,500
Mar 1st - $160,100 (-$7,400)

Have been off work for the winter and also burning through cash working on the home we just bought, and it appears the market is down a little.  Overall, not a great month for my accounts, but I’m back to work starting Monday, and most of the costly renovation work is done, so I’m hoping the bleeding stops and I start building again

01-Jan-2025: $245,544 (+$2,654 for the month)

A low-spend month contributed to a reasonably nice gain. Because of market vagaries I'm going to remain in this thread for a little while until it's clear I'm ready for the next one.

01-Feb-2025: $263,257 (+$17,713 for the month)

Market headwinds and a vacation to the stupidly expensive Hawaii for three weeks meant modest gains for the past two months.

01-Apr-2025: $266,468 (+$3,211)

Yeah I started tracking in September of 2023 and it was all good news up until recently.

I saved 7k this month and my networth dropped 4k. Really important lesson for me to learn now and stick with it and keep plugging away like you say.

Apparently a trade warrior had other plans and gutted another huge chunk.
