A combination of market increases and recieving my last check from my previous employer (which included my vacation time payout), lead me to my greatest, single month increase in net worth! Things will be much slower in the coming months as I have just purchased a new home, which will have several projects that need completing in the coming months. Additionally, there will be a one-time increase in net-worth when I sell my current house and invest the equity, as it is a sizeable sum(likely to happen in September/October). Congrats to all the folks continuing to make steady progress!

And a special congrats @mgardner88 see you on the next thread!!

Pfft, that should teach me not to open my big mouth about graduating before it actually happens. Thanks anyway for the encouragement @Vindicated and @FrugalFukuoka but it looks like you're stuck with me for another month!

And congratulations @mgardner88 --I look forward to joining you in the next thread soon!

I'm right there with ya! I dipped below 250k last month, but this month I'm over again at 256k. Giving it another 2 months to consolidate!

And congrats @mgardner88, big milestone!

I check back in to this thread from time to time.  I am currently in the $250 - $500k thread, but want to congratulate all of you on the progress you are making.  I still maintain this thread is the hardest one to complete.  It is more than a doubling, and if I could do it again, I would have gone more mustachian than I did.  I will FI, but not so much FIRE.  So keep grinding.  Many of you will finish this goal before I have moved on from the next Race and look forward to watching you make marvelous progress in that one too.

This is the club I'm in. I may hit 200k at the end of the month. Looking forward to posting my number then... hopefully get to 250k in the not so distant future!

Until the markets stablized, I'll probably be inbetween this thread and the race to 100K

JAN 2022: 40,699.37
MAR 2022: 87,840.41
JUN 2022:  86,153.42
AUG 2022: 100,611.5

JAN 2023: 109,070.31

Oct 2023: 147,632.73

Been a ridiculously spendy 12 months for me. Planning to challenge no buy for 6 months.

Jan 2024: 176,026

Feb 2024: 192,902
I may reach for the stars and try to get to $250K, but we'll see.

March 2024: 216,138.71

Got my yearly bonus and the no buy has been good. I did have to fly out for an emergency but net worth has gotten a market boost too.

July 2024: 236,662.18

Had a few emergencies this year (very costly root canal) but marching along.

Okay these are my numbers so I can start tracking... hopefully I get to 250k quickly and graduate to the next club!

I think I'll start taking monthly snapshots instead of more or less quarterly.

Sept 6 2023: $ 115,236.73 (Starting Point)

Jan 5th 2024: 147,842.08 (+ 32,605.35 since previous snapshout, + 32,605.35 since starting point)

Mar 29th 2024: 179,559.31 (+ 31,717.23 since previous snapshot, +64,322.58 since starting point)

Jun 28th 2024: 204,276.13 (+ 24,716.82 since previous snapshot, + 89,039.40 since starting point)

Notes

I got July and August to jump another about $10,500 to get to plus 100k for the year. Really hoping the market stays strong! I have a really good shot at hitting this goal since in good months recently I'm saving/contributing 7k per month... so I should get there I hope. Going to try to do whatever it takes. I got a vacation trip now to take and after that I'm cutting back on spending big time.

Soon I think I'll track every month and then come up with a fancy table or something like I've seen.

Okay these are my numbers so I can start tracking... hopefully I get to 250k quickly and graduate to the next club!

I think I'll start taking monthly snapshots instead of more or less quarterly.

$7k per month savings is great, no matter what the % of take home pay that is.  My goal is to be at $6k/month starting Sept.  24.  I have had a very expensive year thus far, but am grateful that I can even think about saving that much in a month.  I am using the interim months to Sept. to hone in my fruality ways.  #1 priority - no eating out.

@lcmac32 Yes, saving this much is great... I have to be really grateful to be where I'm at. A second job has done a lot for me as well as being frugal. Truthfully I can do better in some spending areas.

Good news is I think once someone is saving 4k plus the progress is so noticeable. I get more motivated the more I can save. It's really hard to be frugal when saving 1k or less a month - it's much easier to go for impulse purchases.

We're in a good spot for sure and saving more than most people! Let's keep at it!

Extremely grateful for the strong market this year; fingers crossed it continues! This year has felt kind of surreal - the month-on-month increases have been approximately in the range of my salary.

I haven't been able to put away as much savings as I had wanted this year. I've a couple more expensive international trips coming up and have been funding my holiday pocket for that with any surplus savings. I do feel guilty about that sometimes, but I'm trying to remember this is a marathon and not a race, and I want to spend on experiences I love as well.

Congrats to everyone who has graduated! And for those of us still plodding on, let's get it!!

+ 3.323 €

Starting to reduce the savings for the upcoming months with reduced pay. Savings rate is still at 31% but it might be a bit inflated and I might even have to "un-save" next month.

May 2024 - $111,045

June 2024 - $114,755

Pretty normal month for me!  Of course my 12 year old car needs an oil change/maintenance next month, which could mean anything.  Haha!

Another great month, my actual savings was small, but the markets really helped me along. I finished my home purchase and moved in June, leading to a lot of one time expenses. I am hoping to get my previous home sold in August/September which will comfortably push me into the next thread when that occurs!

Retirement savings has reached $250,000!  I’m not contributing currently as I am out of work, so it’s up to the total stock market to keep me above the goal.

April 2024 - $107,258

Increased my 401K contribution by a couple of percentage points.  Not that it did anything for me this month.  Haha.

I was scrolling back in this thread and saw this post.  Hope that you have had several great months since this post.   Time for bumping that auto savings into 401k by another couple of points, eh?  That is how you can slowly build those mustachian savings rate muscle; 2% points at time.  You are doing great!!!

Crazy goal of mine is to save/be up 100k for a year. I'm about 3k away. Just need the market to hold up for this next month. I should save/contribute 7k+ next month so I'm on track...

Just a great milestone to write home about... hope I make it!

It freels unreal that I could graduate from this thread in a few months, if market and crypto continue to increase... But it will not happen that early, since I am buying a flat in a few months and I exspect roughly 25.000 € of transactional costs, which will reduce my net worth. The flat itself will be neutral to my net worth, since I value my properties at their acquisition cost. But even these 25.000 € will only throw me back to April...

As I say: it feels unreal.

Looks like you will be well ahead of that 2026 goal of 250k in your table. Even with the flat purchase you are well on your way to hitting that goal early!

A drop in value despite adding £1,800 to the pot this month. The market is a cruel mistress.

The market is a loving partner gifting you a wonderful discount on your financial journey :)

Lol I like it @JAYSLOL

Late check in from me, but wow.  That was the craziest financial month of my life.  My company got sold (don't worry, I still securely have my job) and the PE company that sold us gave us all a HUGE bonus.  At least huge to me.  By far the most money I've received at once in my entire life.  It's probably ho-hum money to a lot of people here, but for someone who has had their electric cut off before because they couldn't afford the bill, I was floored.  It was $15K before anything came out.  After taxes and 401K and whatever else that gets taken out, $8K wound up in my bank account.  After company match, $2K wound in my 401K.  This is wild money to me.  I've received bonuses before, but they've only been a couple of grand.

Do you know how long it takes me to save $8K in cash?  Years.  Many years.  I've been very very slowly building my emergency fund for over 7 years now.  I've been trying to hit a number that equals to 6 months of my normal paychecks.  Now I'm actually going to be done building it by October.   I'm still a little flabbergasted by it all.  I feel like I'm turning a corner in this big financial game.

THis is so fantastic @LittleWanderer --I'm so happy for you! (as a relatively low earner, I also would be gobsmacked by an extra $8-10k!)

Thank you!  I'm glad to hear that others would also react the same way.  I realize that's some people's normal paycheck around this forum!

This is so cool, thank you so much for sharing! I think we have been lingering together in the same forums for some time and it is always exciting for me to see "old friends" doing big things! Keep it up!
