This is for invested assets only.

February 2016 - $180,741
March     2016 - $190,352

But incidentally I crossed the $300k mark in total net worth (includes house, car, and other physical assets) this month. Which feels pretty good considering my net worth moved into the black for the first time in 2011. The 1st 100k was definitely the hardest.

I have just looked back for the first time, and  I can't believe how up and down it goes compared to the rest of you:

This is with the same 13% going in each month and with not messing with my funds until very recently. I might go back further in time and see if i was in the 100k before jan 2015 too.

Do you mean 2015 and 2016? That does seem a bit strange! About how much is 13% (i.e. roughly how much do you add each month)? And What are you invested in?

If you're talking about 2015 and 2016 with relatively small additions, I don't think that seems too far off. My old 401k accounts that havent had any contributions stayed relatively flat. They are worth roughly the same (within $1,000 difference) in Jan 2015 as Jan 2016 and Mar 2016.
I refinanced my student loans with Earnest and cut 1% off my rate. PM me for a referral with $200 credit.

Yes sorry duh 2015/16 haha.
Yes I guess my contributions are small in these circles it isn't much - $820 my choices were all over the place, but mostly stocks.

This is for our Investment Accounts only.

January 2015:   $77,300
July 2015:         $115,800
January 2016:   $124,100
February 2016: $127,500
March 2016:     $141,700

April 2016:        $152,300

Finally crossed the $150k line!  The rest of this year should be rather slow going as we front loaded our investments as much as possible this year.

Been off the forum (low info diet) for a while, less time surfing, reading more books etc. Just logged into see that my steady (set and forget automatic withdrawals each month) savings were growing very nicely, thought I'd post here. Will add another 15,000 before summer is over due to raises and bonuses this year.

Jan 2015 - $94,000
Feb 2015 - $ 97,000
Mar 2015 - $106,000
Apr 2015 - $108,000
May 2015 - $114,000
June 2015 - $ 117,000
...
April 2016 - $145,000

I think it makes sense overall then since most markets were not great over the last year. And the trend is generally positive. And if market variation can swamp out your contributions, that is generally a positive sign. Your stash is big enough to have a mind of its own.

I have just looked back for the first time, and  I can't believe how up and down it goes compared to the rest of you:

Are you tracking on Mint? If you are, are you, by chance, tracking your house value with the Zestimate? If you are, that could be throwing your numbers out of whack. My Zestimate was varying as much as $15k in two weeks, so obviously it was not remotely accurate for my region. So, I put in a manual value and it stabilized my NW.

Another great month, markets were up on this one.  These next six months will be interesting since my last day of work was on the 31st.  I still wager my NW will continue to rise, but it may be slowing down a bit until I find another job.

HI, yes i do use Mint, and Zillow, but this it just from my 403b only, my net worth is a bit higher, but as you say moves around too much because of bills and zillow. I should set it to fixed like you have.

Hi Guys! I look forward to joining you next month - I was about $300 shy of the mark at the end of March :-)

I thought I'd bring something to the party, so here's a spreadsheet you we can populate if we wish:

*All data entry on the "Data Entry" tab. "The Big Board" tab will auto-populate based on these data.

*EDIT* Opened up access to anyone with the link, had it on private at first

$141,000 - Thanks to a nice drop in the markets over the past months -_- Hoping to get to $200,000 by Dec 31st 2016.

Up to $148k investable assets as of today.

Up to $169k today, looks like I'll be hitting that $200k by end of 2016.

I'm in too. I really want to press the pedal now. I am 31 and at 92K net worth, but I think I can join this race. Thanks to my lovely wife, we have been very modest in our lifestyle, yet very comfortable. I have a 4 yr old too, we are a good small team. I'll hit 100K in April, expecting a windfall. :)

September 2015      $58,316.82

I suppose I'll join in... It's crazy how week to week or month to month things seem so small, but crazy how things over years can add up. No house, just cash, investments, and SL's. Have been putting away ~$4k month or so.

Dec 2014   $101k
Jan 2015   $102k
Feb 2015   $116k
Mar 2015   $117k
Apr 2015   $117k
May 2015   $121k
Jun 2015   $120k
Jul 2015    $126k
Aug 2015  $123k
Sep 2015   $125k
Oct 2015   $139k
Nov 2015   $146k
Dec 2015   $147k
Jan 2016   $141k

Checking back in on this challenge after a few months...   I've actually been going backwards...  Focused on paying off a used car purchase for youngest and saving for a new roof from job income that isn't going to be fun, but has to be done and is over 1/3rd saved up now...    Spendypants.

Without these debt paydown & roof expense, I'd be well into the $115-120k range by now which is about $15K since first of the year...   but as it is, I went backwards into the low 90k's.    The car note has another $8K to go, then that net monthly cash flow can go back to this challenge to growth.   Then the mortgage payoff club gets any windfalls/bonuses to free up that monthly "nut" in another year or so to go to the "growth" side as well...   That magic "100% debt free" goal is closer every day (we're now under 40% of the total debt we had before MMM and with greater passive income...   so financial freedom can and will be done)!

2/29/2016: $105,360
3/31/2016: $101,978

Well, this month is different. I always excluded real estate values, but last Friday, we bought a house. So I've got the rental and this house, and a new mortgage. And rather than having it look like I just took a quarter million dollar loss in net worth, I decided I need to start including real estate values. I'm using the purchase price for each property, which I'm hoping is conservative (both appraised for higher than the purchase price, and should hold their value in our relatively stable market.)

So, without any further ado, here's our new net worth:

4/29/2016: $262,438

I guess I'm in the wrong thread :)

Congrats!

First month without a job, didn't do too shabby:

This months numbers:
May 2015:  $100,323.89
June 2015: $106,433.29
July 2015: $114,450.69
August 2015: $118,018.27
September 2015: $121,664.35
October 2015: $132,652.87
November 2015: $138,272.53
December 2015: $144,824.70
January 2016: $149,731.88
February 2016: $159,138.30
March 2016: $172,089.61
April 2016: $177,924.11

A gain of nearly $6,000 while being unemployed.  We did have some boarders come for a month, which sort of helped, though we spent about as much as we made on getting the room ready.  We have another one lined up for June through August.

Next month I'm not quite expecting to see as much growth as I did this month, but who knows, maybe I'll see more.

Feb 2016 249,608
Mar 2016 271,295 (Minus college fund is 248,483. So close!)
April 2016 274,222

Minus college fund is $251,521! Yay, graduating to the race to 500k thread
. At the current pace, it would take 3-4 years to get there, but we may restructure some things before then.

I went back through my records and discovered that it took us 5 years to reach the first 100k (lower pay, no kids, small house) and another 5 years to reach 200k (higher pay, 2 kids, bigger house). We reached 200k about a year ago, at around the time we discovered MMM. It only took us a year to get to 250k, so finding MMM and adjusting our spending and saving made a big difference!

Good luck to everyone else on this thread!

Baby steps! Bought a ticket to Thailand and Japan to see family and depreciated an asset, so April growth was a little slower. However, I am also grateful to have received a substantial (15%+) raise that should speed up the pace moving forward :-)

April 2016 $296,708.77 -$145,223.65 $153,621.56 (now including HSA)

Most of that has got to be my house (mint includes a Zillow estimate, which may actually be a little low) -- the Phoenix market is up roughly 40% over the last ~3 years.

My investment accounts didn't increase too much in April either (I don't have a whole invested and haven't contributed in six months)) but my investment properties are soaring in value and I made a few adjustments to that. Don't be discouraged if your investments are a little slower growing than other's, they may have more invested which creates bigger gains (and losses) and contribute more. We are really only racing ourselves here.
