09/2017 - $155,863 (+2870 - Saved $2838, Market Gains $32, Savings Ratio 52%)

Disappointing month based on ratio again. I really have to pick it up. I spent plenty on presents and treats for guests and my girlfriend. No reason September and October can't be very frugal months though.

7/1/2017  $100,056
8/1/2017     $105,261
9/4/2017    $105,325 It has been a crazy month full of many large ups and downs. During this month we: bought a van we intend to move into next summer, had about $1200 in car repairs (managed to save another $800 or so in labor doing what i could myself),  and recieved a large reimbursement from some previous expenses. In summation, no movement forward this month, but I am happy to have broke even everything considered. I will have to look at the positives in the money I saved doing the repairs myself and what we will save in the future without rent.

5/1/17 - $115,775  //  $92,843
6/1/17 - $132,067  //  $96,095
7/1/17 - $134,078  //  $96,404
8/1/17 - $142,711  //  $100,068

9/1/17 - $144,009 // $102,800

Home value took a dip this past month based on comps of recent sales.  Broke out invested assets, which shows a ~$2,700 increase (mostly contributions) despite a pretty flat month of returns.

Feb 1st - 167,752
Mar 1st - 177,448
Apr 1st - 183,917
May 1st - 189,025
June 1st - 195,189
July 1st - 202,048
Aug 1st - 211,263
Sept 1st - 215,880

Def did some more spending this month with a couple small vacations, plus the market wasn't the greatest.  The rebound yesterday actually brought it up at least another 1k, and the raise/promotion finally happening at the beginning of the month raised me up to 90k a year, which also helped.

Aug. 1 2017 -  131,000
Sept. 1 2017-  131,000

Last Month I said I didn't have to put money into the house, but not the case this go around.  I doubled my budgeted spend, and still held steady on NW.

Probably going to drop a good amount this month or the next since we will have to pre-pay taxes into the new escrow, which is an unexpected additional cash to close.

I think I'll end the year about where I started, but also hope that I'll have half funded a 529 that won't be reflected here, so I'm just kind of chalking this year up to getting my house in order for the next few rest of my life.

Woo hoo!  Looks like we've graduated!!

Our investments continue to power our NW growth.  I was surprised how well we did, it sure didn't feel like such a big jump until I ran the numbers.

Doing a happy dance!

Congratulations!!!!

August 31 NW: $200,570.84.

Congrats on changing that first digit :-)

You are right, it's really really cool when unusual expenses don't even register in the progression!

This (last) month, I bought plane tickets to visit family in Japan along with my parents during cherry blossom season :-)

And yet, NW went up 5,659.83 to 185,799.85!! It did help that it was my birthday and some family members decided to be generous.
Turned 33, income 85k, single, renter.

Welcome to all the newcomers! It seems like a lot of people broke into the 6 digit club :-)

*Increased number by $250 to reflect a direct deposit that did not show when I originally took down numbers and another almost 2,200 for the TSP that I forgot about... I suppose it is a good thing when you have enough money you don't notice 10% of your paycheck disappearing :)

I actually had to double-check my numbers twice because it seemed so high. Still getting used to that dual income life. Next month will be even more because September is a 3 paycheck month. We continue to struggle a bit with lifestyle inflation as our grocery bill attests and we've loosened up a bit on brownbagging it to work. Usually because my husband will leave his lunch at home because he hasn't really woken up yet as he's leaving and then he ends up at mcdonalds or wendys. Oh well. I'll keep trying to get him to keep food up in his office.

It is not a typo that August shows the 10th, I was travelling internationally and couldn't get my readings by the 1st.  I'm making progress!

Personal Capital tracks it by the date.  So I can go back and time and tell you what my accounts totaled on any given date.

I don't like giving out my passwords, even to a site like personal capital.  I am a little old fashioned with my spreadsheets and calculators.

You could use software like GnuCash. Easy to generate graphs and charts from your historic records and you don't have to enter any passwords. All the data stays locally on your computer. It does require manual entry, but no more than using your own spreadsheets.

We have now closed on our house so things are stable enough to join.  Tracking everything except real estate in this challenge

6/30:  198.7k
6/30:  198.7k
7/31:  207.5k

If we can continue this pace, we would hit 250k at the end of the year.

May 2017: CHF 231'000
June 2017: CHF 235'000

As I paid CHF 2'700 in taxes and the mortgage (CHF 1'380) for the last three months was due I'm satisfied.

July 2017: CHF 243'000 (that was a good month)

August 2017: CHF 247000

I'll race ya!

My networth for the end of December 2016 is: $103,491, just over the $100k threshold.

I'm not exactly sure when we'll hit $250k since I've just started keeping track of net worth earlier this month.
Just reached $176k at the beginning of September 2017, hard to believe!

Our home flooded thanks to Hurricane Harvey, 1.5 ft of water and it had never flooded before.  I have updated the NW number since it is typical for a house's value to drop ~20% or more after it floods since nobody wants to buy a house that could potentially flood again.  We will have higher expenses for the next 6 months since we our renting a townhome while we try to rebuild our house so we won't really be able to invest much outside of our 401Ks ($5,500/mo).  Ugh.

Very sorry to hear, although I'm glad you guys are ok. I was living in Galveston when hurricane Ike scored a direct hit. 75-80% of the island was under water. They wouldn't let us back on the island for weeks after the storm. Literally a month prior, I had moved from a first floor apt to a third floor one downtown. When they let us back in, I remember walking into the building and seeing a line of grass and weeds on the wall to which the water had risen. It was almost 6 ft. My apt however, large single pane windows and all, was completely unscathed. Amazing.

Just crossed 100k yesterday on personal capital. This is my first post on MMM, but i've been reading for about a year. I'm going to freeze my home equity now, so it stops jumping all over. I am currently in the debate of pay down house or invest my extra cash.

Thanks for the challenge!

Welcome to the Challenge!  Before long you'll have a list of monthly posts, and you'll be asking yourself two questions:

How have I been a part of the challenge this long?
and
How I have managed to save up this much money already!?

Whatever you do, don't start a new post on the home equity or investing question--the old timers around here will tell you to get off their lawn for being soft at worst, link you to the numerous forum debates on the question at best (https://goo.gl/U1i3Qj), or, heaven forbid, you'll incur the wrath of Boarder42.  He has... strong opinions on the subject.

Welcome and good luck :)

I think I might start tracking current portfolio value and value after a routine 20% bear market in equities, just to start toughening up my bear market skin.

16th March 2017 - $156,970.56
14th April 2017 - $172,158.80 (+$15,188.24)
18th May 2017 - $187,986.35 (+$15,827.55)
18th June 2017 - $219,742.03 (+$31,755.68) Whatever small amount I had in cryptocurrencies went bonkers 😳
14th July 2017 - $200,846.03 (-$18,896) - Vanguard dropped over 5% and the crypto portfolio dropped 34%. Additionally I paid for house renovation, moving, bond, and prepaid the rent. So the drop may look dramatic but it's really where it was 6 weeks ago. Also I own way more Vanguard units now than during the last update.
17th August 2017 - $228,106.09 (+$27,260.06) - Back on track, although I still have some big expenses coming up in the near future. Hoping to graduate by the end of October 2017.
26th September 2017 - $228,382.36 (+$276.27) - cryptos went down by the same amount as what I saved. I'm done with the big house related expenses now.
