Dec 2015 - $35,251
Jan 2016 - $34,524

Feb 2016 - $35,261

Meh. Market gains amounted to a whopping $3.35 in the month of February.

Looks like the spreadsheet keeps getting messed up. Anyone know how to fix it? It's not pulling in the current month's net worth. Also, I input my current months net worth yesterday and it looks like someone sorted and it changed the values that were entered for each person.

I have updated the current month (cell A1) and fixed the formulas in column A and B. The problem with the sorting most likely happens because the columns after January 2016 are outside the sorting range (marked by the green line/letters/numbers). I have not figured out how to extend the range, but that would not fix the misplaced values only prevent it from happen again.

I just hit $10K and would love to join this gauntlet. Is there a way to do that at this point? Could we start a new gauntlet since so many people in the original thread seem "done"?

I just updated, but I'm shit at tracking monthly.  I'm going to try to get it together, because I think it will keep me from feeling discouraged when our progress isn't super clear.

I'd be happy to jump in on a new chart if one is made too!

How can I add myself?

EDIT: Okay I just added myself, hope that was okay.

How do you make sure that there won't be some troll deleting all the data?

I just added a new sheet 'Net Worth 2' that starts from 2016, but I made the changes in a private copy of the spreadsheet first so I can easily recreate them if the spreadsheet is restored.

Looks like the March 1, 7:12 PM - anonymous revision "sorted" and bunked a bunch of the data. We can restore to the earlier 3:51 PM and undo this, but it will also undo changes that occurred since then.
Yea there is something wrong with the table alright.

$40,061 - 1 Dec 2015
$43,153 - 1 Jan 2016
$47,634 - 1 Feb 2016

$50,404 - 1 Mar 2016

Broke 50,000, seems like a decent milestone on the way to 100k

Can you redo this? I restored to the previous revision to fix the misplaced values, but the formulas were not correct in that version.

It's done. I also figured out how to update the sorting range which should make it safe to sort again.

dachs Super sorry about that. On March 1st, someone scrambled a bunch of the data, so we had to reset to the previous version. It's been pretty rare *knock on wood* but we can use Revision History to fix such issues.. but it does remove data added after the jumble. If you add it now, it'll stick!

Okay thank you :) But there is no more cell left to add my name. Is there a special way to add a new cell? I don't want to mess up the table.

Are you looking at the right row? I can see two rows for the username dachsi (assuming it is yours), but only one has entered her/his networth.

Also don't enter your networth directly in column A or column B. They are supposed to contain formulas that reads data from elsewhere (column AX has the networth for March 1, 2016). Anything you enter in those columns will get overwritten the next time the formulas needs to be updated.

Updated the last couple months for me:

1/31/16: 71,733
2/29/16: 74,225

Slowly but surely. I'm hoping to hit $100k by the end of 2016, about 2.5 years since starting in May of 2014. Not a bad pace!!

I haven't done a proper update in a while, but this month I finally crossed back into 10K territory! *does 10K dance for the second time*

Hoping to hit the 20K mark by August, when I start my new position (with 20% pay increase!), and then I hope things will really take off!

hit 25k USD this week, although I should probably stick to my own currency, 17.8k GBP. My road to 100k will be in bursts rather than a steady increase, though, as I'm a college student just trying to find little moneymaking schemes here and there rather than having an actual income.

$25K for a college student is pretty good!

Not much progress in Feb too. While the Canadian holdings increased by ~2500, due to forex fluctuations the oversees numbers are trending lower in CAD. But we are back to the 35-40% savings levels and are plugging away at the investments.
Aug 2015: $73,900
Sep 2015: $78,300
Oct 2015: $86,014
Nov 2015: $88,620
Dec 2015: $88,329
Jan 2016: $90,032
Feb 2016: $90,600
Early update this months as the year-end bonus and a hefty tax refund gave a definitive push over the line, with a paycheck still remaining in the month. Took me 27 months to go from 10-100.

Dec 2013: ~10,000
Dec 2014: ~50,000
July 2015: $74,250
Aug 2015: $73,900
Sep 2015: $78,300
Oct 2015: $86,014
Nov 2015: $88,620
Dec 2015: $88,329
Jan 2016: $90,032
Feb 2016: $90,600
Mar 20th  2016: $107,112

Steaming along to the next goalpost.
Good luck everyone on your journeys and see you soon on the other thread.

Just did some conservative calculations and I should hit 100k at the end of 2020. Mind you, this includes zero interest or dividends, so it will hopefully be sooner. I've set myself a goal. I want to be at 100k at the end of 2018. I will need to get serious about side hustles though! What's life without a little challenge!

1st post! My stretch goal is 125K by the end of the year if I get lucky with the market. I will be about 23.5 years old (sidenote: I can't believe I'm turning 23). More realistically I will probably hit 105k-110k barring any illnesses/family issues/injuries etc.

Me: Single male, 22 years old, NYC
Started at -12k in student debt when i graduated in 2015. During college, I paid down ~8k from earnings in college/internships.

Current stats:
Cash on hand: 20k. 15k is in the savings account to maintain the credit card. I have an additional 5k for instant liquidity (rent, paying the monthly credit card balance) without disrupting my long-term investment positions and getting slapped the 35% capital gains tax.
ETF: 10k
Cash for Investments (dry powder): 37k
401k: 5.5k - the match doesn't activate until I've stayed with the firm for 2-3 years so I'm ignoring the additional +5.5k match.
Traditional IRA: 5.5k as soon as I cash in the tax refund. It's sitting at home with my parents.

Total: 78K
Year-End Goal: 125K
62% there!

Okay - time to join this one. I want to make this past 100k this year and we (wife and myself) should be able to do that easily mainly because the mortgage is about to be paid off. I'm not including home equity or super (Australian retirement account that you can't access until 60).

4th January 2016 : 55k.

An update for close to the end of the quarter: 58k.

So this is pretty pathetic but the returns haven't been good for us plus we have only made one investment in the market. In stating that we invested 10k and we've moved forward 3k. I suppose it's interesting to think about how poor returns can impact me. I think over the longer term we will still come out ahead so I'm not really that stressed.

We also have close to 10k in cash. I'm not including this because I'm only including invested assets. I expect to invest another 20k during the next quarter and we will see how we go.

Well this quarter hasn't been great return wise but I did sell my car which helps increase my net worth plus my bonus at work helped to pay down the last CC and will be finished either end of May or beginning of June.
My yearly raise should be effective April 15th and tax return is due any day now so I expect another big jump from March to April as well.

03/31/16   58,923.60

**I don't include my home value since we plan to stay in it forever. This is only IRA and 401K and savings and taxable accounts****

A couple stats and factoids.

Age: 25
Asset breakdown: 16% cash/savings. 26% investments, 31% Retirement account, 27% home equity.
Debt: Nothing other than mortgage. Watched my parents destroy any hope of retirement with credit cards.
Field: Public sector I.T. (Decent pay, but far from the 6 figure salaries that seem to be common around here)

Time to go start lurking in the 6 figure thread!

Somehow i just now saw this thread...and it is one i can actually not feel out of place :)

(2010-2013 amounts are my best guess. Didn't start tracking until 2014)

End of Year: Amount
2010: -$7,500
2011: $7,500
2012: $8,500 (bought a car - hence the relatively flat NW)
2013: $24,000
2014: $36,285 (Found MMM in October)
2015: $40,655 (Peaked at $48k, but then I liquidated some savings to buy a house)
Today: $48,000

There is a very slim chance i could hit 100k by the end of 2017...should get there in 2018 for sure.

7/31/2015: $36,978
8/31/2015: $34,949
9/30/2015: $35,722
10/31/2015: $37,797
11/30/2015: $39,424
12/31/2015: $42,763
01/31/2016: $44,656
02/29/2016: $47,521
03/31/2016: $51,770

March was a good month for me. Between my employer simple IRA company match being deposited, the market gains in general, and also some privately held company stock that I own increased the share price by 7%, I have seen a very nice jump in my net worth! Little bit of a milestone for me surpassing the $50k mark. Slow and steady my progress has been but finally crossing the half way mark is giving me extra motivation to stay the course.

Glad to see we have a bunch of new people joining in on the race! Good luck everyone and I am excited to watch your progress along the way!

January 2015: CHF 49,805
...
November 2015: CHF 66,524
December 2015: CHF 67,473
January 2016: CHF 78,098
February 2016: CHF 81,995
March 2016: CHF 78,422

Down more than 3k... no new investments, weak USD and markets mostly sideways.

Damn, all of you are really impressive!
Real good looking progress CanyonMan, you are MILES ahead of nearly every other 25 year old out there, killin' it!

My update is as follows:

1/1/2016   $70,395.59
2/1/2016   $74,587.69
3/1/2016   $77,683.18
4/1/2016   $81,670.69

Most of this NW is in equity/Pension/retirement accounts so I'm just focusing on getting a larger Emergency Fund for the next few months as I've always gone a little light on cash in the bank.

Mar 20th  2016: $107,112

Steaming along to the next goalpost.
Good luck everyone on your journeys and see you soon on the other thread.

Congratulations!! See you there :-)

1st post! My stretch goal is 125K by the end of the year if I get lucky with the market. I will be about 23.5 years old (sidenote: I can't believe I'm turning 23). More realistically I will probably hit 105k-110k barring any illnesses/family issues/injuries etc.

Welcome!

02/29/16   46,830.84
03/31/16   58,923.60

Past the half-way mark!

I made it! Closed in March comfortably over $100,000!
4/1: $100,869.59

On to $250k!

Keep on keeping on, everyone!

Congratulations! :-)

2/29/2016: $105,360
3/31/2016: $101,978
Logged quarterly market movement. Does not include $11k deposit on new house or rental house real estate value. Going to have to figure out new plan for tracking net worth or I'm about to take a really big hit on paper :) Looks like I'm still officially a graduate even after paying for inspections and deposit!

Congrats!

As for myself, *so close*! $99,781.52 :-)
