But in the long run it will be a fortune! I changed my job last year. My previous employer paid 50% of my pension premiums (it all works a bit different here) and my current employer pays 75%. I'm making a lot more so my premium has increased, but due to the change in employer contribution it's gone up only by about €100 pre-tax/month. And I'm saving up a LOT more than I used to do.

11/30/20 - SEP Balance $ 15524.45 + Roth $ 1770.76 - Student loan balance $ 6897.45 = $ 10,397.76
12/30/20 - SEP Balance $ 16106.09 + Roth $ 1813.94 - Student loan balance $ 6306.71 = $ 11,613.32

01/29/21 - SEP + Roth $ 20,139.02 - Student loan balance $ 5,316.32 = $ 14,822.70
02/28/21 - SEP + Roth $ 21,680.41 - Student loan balance $ 4,000.15 = $ 17,680.26
03/31/21 - SEP + Roth $ 22,823.38 - Student loan balance $ 2,994.55 = $ 19,828.83
04/27/21 - SEP + Roth $ 24,365.29 - Student loan balance $ 1,699.29 = $ 22,666.00
05/31/21 - SEP + Roth $ 25,063.59 - Student loan balance $ 0 = $ 25,063.59 - Student loan is paid off!!!

Amazing to see that 6 months ago, my net worth was just over $10K and now my loan is completely paid off and my net work is over $25K. Can't wait to see what my end of year number looks like. Now to max out the Roth for the rest of the year.

Getting closer and closer. Since last month, I've informed my boss that my wife and I are moving to CA, and the good news is that I can stay remote through the fall for sure, and also can start to look to transfer internally. I was afraid my company's co-location preference would get in the way of this. Of course there's always a chance something doesn't work out, but overall I'm happy to be moving with some stability. That's all to say -- I'm fairly certain I can keep up the pace and hopefully get to $100k in investment accounts by August or September.

7/1/2020: $46,295
8/1/2020: $49,461 (+3,166)
9/1/2020: $51,488 (+2,027)

11/1/2020: $53,942 (+1,189)
12/1/2020: $56,152 (+2,210)
1/8/2021: $63,512 (+7,360)
2/5/2021: $67,571 (+4,059)
3/3/2021: $70,618 (+3,047)
4/2/2021: $74,861 (+4,243)
5/5/2021: $80,447 (+5,586)
6/7/2021: $84,957 (+4,510)

If things keep going the same I should graduate this thread in October. $28,808 added to our retirement accounts since 1/1/2021. Mind blowing, considering that's 1/3 of our gross income.  These are just our retirement/brokerage accounts, i don't include our house equity in this amount. We just refinanced and our house has increased substantially since last year when we refinanced. I'm not sure how much weight to give that though, the market seems so inflated where we are (California) So for my own records ive kept a conservative number for the house. Feels safer I suppose.

Hi guys,

My N/W grew by £2,069.06 to a new total of £42,771.24

Markets did most of the heavy lifting.  My investments were at -24% (compared to what I'd invested) 10 months ago, compared to over +30% today.  That's crazy, right?  :')

Still getting paid less with this current lockdown.  Still saving for my wedding.  Once things get back to normal and I'm married I really think my progress should skyrocket.

Hope you're all keeping well and staying safe....

I've been rubbish at posting since my last update in January!

I've been keeping on top of my money and my N/W today is £50,142.  So I'm halfway there now.

I just crossed € 70k this month. 70,500€.

I am in awe! Payment scheme was increased at my job and my portfolio is on a run! That is 33k more than last year, when my SO at the time and I split up after a really long time, I moved into another city and when I thought the world was upside down.

Noice.

The industry I work in reopened in April, so I was incredibly busy with work from mid-Feb onwards.   I've been trying to maximise my spare time away from my desk!

I hope you're doing well?  It was a shame about the Netherlands result yesterday - I was hoping for an Ned v Eng semi final! :')

I hope you're doing well?  It was a shame about the Netherlands result yesterday - I was hoping for an Ned v Eng semi final! :')

I know what you're talking about, my work has been incredibly busy lately. I also try to stay away from devices in my spare time as much as I can.

Before the tournament started the whole country was convinced it was hopeless, one good match against North Macedonia and suddenly half of the country seriously thought we were going to win. We've got some pretty decent players in our team, but it's been a while since we got anywhere in a tournament.

So I was honestly not that surprised about last night, although of course there's always a little bit of hope that we may not embarrass ourselves this year. But by the time we heard our favourite player (Donny van de Beek! Although not your team if I remember correctly ;-) ) was injured and had to drop out we were pretty much convinced they were going to fail.

I was wondering where you went!!! But congratulations on reaching 50k! I'm sure the next 50k will be easier than the first.

I'm more of a Nathan Ake kind of man!  ;)

Ah well, if it cheers you up, you can watch Germany beat us on penalties this evening.

Tracking investments, emergency fund and additional pension investments (all to be used to retire together with SO!)
(not tracking company pension investments, house value and current accounts / special project savings)

15 May 2020: EUR 17,034 (started tracking)
15 December 2020: EUR 23,325

31 January 2021: EUR 24,040
28 February 2021: EUR 25,103
31 March 2021: EUR 26,263
30 April 2021: EUR 27,109
31 May 2021: EUR 30,039
30 June 2021: EUR 30,721
(2021 goal: EUR 35K)

Only a small increase this month. We directed our insurance refund to the mortgage and to our special project savings. So the increase is just regular savings (and a bit of market increase). Whenever the special project savings are at their required balance, we should be able to direct more to the retirement savings.

I'm learning to drive and it costs a fortune where I live. I've spent €2000 so far on my theory test, my first 21 lessons (average person needs 39) and some associated costs. I'm expecting to spend another €1500 at least in a couple of months for the rest of my lessons + my medical exam + the actual license card and getting my picture taken. The card itself is €41 already. And they wonder why so many young people don't drive....

NW went up and down this past month, flirting with crossing the halfway mark. At one point it was over $50/51k and then dropped back down.
I'm anticipating July to be a bigger paycheck month, so the NW should go up. I'm trying to strike a balance between enjoying my social life again as Covid restrictions ease, while still saving.

That's nice steady progress @lifeandlimb!  Keep it up!  You've got this.

Its been one year since I began tracking. Total gains of $43,797 since July of 2020. Now that things are slowing down with Covid restrictions we will begin to funnel some of our money towards vacations and travel again. So I anticipate our savings rate to slow a little. Still hoping to get to 100k by October. Great job everybody.

Been a heck of a start of this month so far. We have officially moved into our new house. Now it is time to get the old one prepared to sell. Hopefully going to see my networth take off here over the next couple of months.

Oct 2019- $1000
Nov 2019- $2340
Dec 2019- $2779
Jan 2020- $5658
Feb 2020- $5539
Mar 2020- $5024
Apr 2020- $5444
May 2020- $8302  (wherein I finally got some of unemployment)
June 2020- $20864 (wherein I got more unemployment plus the EIDL)
mid July 2020- $31724 (got the rest of the backpay, woohoo!)
7/31/20- $33340
9/2/20- $36366
9/17/20 - $42978
10/2/20- $43800
10/31/20- $47854
11/11/20- $53709
12/23/20- $64158
1/8/21- $69542
3/23/21- $81890
4/10/21- $88405
5/2/21- $94414
7/21/21- $93777.25

Oooook so a lil lower than before, BUT
-I spent $5000 in the last months for our wedding (most of the expenses are done)
-Spent $2400 on our honeymoon, 17 days roadtrip around Colorado which we took already.  Highly recommend doing honeymoon before the wedding!  LOL.  My fiance said he's going to contribute but I was doing a few credit card bonuses so I paid them.
-Any future wedding spending is coming from his parents' contribution which is in his bank account currently.

Basically spent a lot, would've hit $100k already, which is BANANAs, I make like $40-50k/year, I saved all this in less than 2 years (good investing helped too- I've averaged 30% return yearly).  My income has taken a jump since I got back 2 weeks ago since I now work 5 days a week instead of 3 at one job, and also we started taking private and insurance patients which pay more.

ALSO!  music is coming back.  I have gigs every weekend in September and October (including some weddings and polka which pay more).  Had 2 gigs last week and 2 more this week, and another 2 next week.  We have some November hits too with guarantees which is usually a drier month for us.  The main guy on my instrument who gets first preference is a band that's been on national TV, they have another thing coming up, so I am getting work usually he would have taken.  Yay for all of us getting $$ and gigz!!
