April 2019: €10094.35
May 2019: €11629.87
June 2019: €12728.63
July 2019: €13021,33
August 2019: €10363,95
September 2019: €10338.28
October: €11128.59

Goals for 2019:
Savings: €5000
Investments: €10000

Going in the right direction again, just not as much as I had hoped, but I had some unexpected costs (again). September-December is always the most expensive part of the year for me.

5/1/2017     $34125.20
5/1/2018     $51663.60

5/1/2019     $64340.45
6/3/2019     $64940.28

10/1/2019   $78067.76
11/1/2019   $81247.16

Not a bad month.  Crossed the $90k asset threshold, so if I can just knock those liabilities down I'll be doing good.

Hello everyone! It is my first time posting in this thread, I just made by way over from the race to $10k thread which I just surpassed.

Here is a basic breakdown of the numbers as of the end of the day today:

Total Cash/Cash Equivalents: $31,642
Total Liabilities: $20,131

Net Worth: $11,511

Virtually all of my liabilities are student loans. I also have some minor balances on my credit cards, which I pay off monthly. I've been aggressively attacking the student loans (see my participation in the student loan challenge if curious) and have made steady progress.

As for asset composition,  20% are in checking accounts, 13% is in my HSA and 67% is in my 401k.

9/29/17 - $11,511 (First post in thread)
6/30/18 - $36,000
7/31/18 - $38,676
8/31/18 - $40,277
9/30/18 - $50,572
10/31/18 - $46,085
11/30/18 - $48,956
12/31/18 - $46,003
1/31/19 - $53,028
2/28/19 - $58,276
3/31/2019 - $67,340
4/30/2019 - $70,674
5/31/2019 - $69,853
6/30/2019 - $75,757
7/31/2019 - $78,206
8/31/2019 - $83,589
9/30/2019 - $83,292
10/31/2019 - $87,539

October Notes

Trucking right along, though still have a lot of room for improvement on the expense front.

July 12, 2019: $66,565
Aug 1, 2019: $68,207 (+2,47%)
Aug 29, 2019: $69,931 (+2,53%)
Sept 29, 2019: $71,138 (+1.73%)
Oct 31, 2019: $71,517 (+0,53%)

Investments performed quite bad, and there were some unexpected costs (e.g. new glasses for $250, buying some of the Christmas gifts for $100, buying a sandwich maker for $20, quarterly bank charges, excessive drinking (two times in October instead of one, LOL), incredible Belgian beer sale :) etc.).

SR was around a shameful 33%, good news is that my workplace will support my glass purchase with $100 (in theory), that would bring my SR to a less shameful 40%.

I expect that November will be better investment-wise, income-wise ($110 overtime payment) and spending-wise (I'm not planning to buy any expensive stuff this month), so my minimum target is 65% SR, normal target is 70% and maximum target is 75%.

I managed to sell one domain to an enduser, after the fees I'm expecting $900 in 6 monthly instalments. I hope this side business (or rather a hobby) can significantly help me reach my mid term goal, $100k by the end of 2021.

11/2019: $30,000.00

Living on one low income while paying for husband's schooling and supporting his family...with baby #2 on the way.
I'm hoping to double it by the time my husband's done with school in 4 years.
That might be a little ambitious (unrealistic). But hey, it's good to have a goal!

I've been using Personal Capital to track our net work for a few months, this will be a fun place to keep track and more importantly keep ourselves on the saving path!  I've only used the site to factor investment/retirement accounts against mortgage and car loan balance, I have cash set aside for home improvements\emergency so I didn't want that money to show a inflated NW, also have not used homes value to factor into the calculation.

September 1, 2018 - $16,853
October 1, 2018 - $20,234
April 2, 2019 - $64,781 (forgot about updating this, but was pretty exciting to see!)

November 6, 2019 - $89,158...the grind is paying off

Great attitude @Luz!  With that kind of focus you will be there before you know it.  Even little things really do add up.

@M5 and @jasert39 -- you are neck and neck, nearing the finish line.  The first 100k is the hardest.  Great job!

20 Dec 18 - 37,800
Mid March 2019 - 45,815
20 June 2019 - 50,890
Mid September 2019 - 57,608
15 October 2019 - 58,927
1 November 2019 - 62,103
15 November 2019 - 64,594

Another nice jump, thanks to a market rally and good ol discipline! I shortened the list to show quarterly progress.
Almost two thirds of the way, I can hardly believe it.
It all works! Keen to continue and see if I can start 2020 over 70k.

I'm going to join this race and only include invested money. My net worth is larger, even with the current liabilities. I have a couple previous data points, so I'll include those while I'm at it.

12-1-2018   9518
4-1-2019    10960

I look forward to seeing my progress!

I was like boooo when I saw the recent market drops, but also have to realize that while being at $36500 right now instead of 37-38,000 which is where i was anticipating, i'm still averaging over 2000 a month since I broke the 10k mark. Progress!

A few short months later I'm going to be at >$44,000 after the end of the month and rent is paid and suddenly it seems crazy that I was just at 36500 just 3 months ago.

July 12, 2019: $66,565
Aug 1, 2019: $68,207 (+2.47%, +$1,642)
Aug 29, 2019: $69,931 (+2.53%, +$1,724)
Sept 29, 2019: $71,138 (+1.73%, +$1,207)
Oct 31, 2019: $71,517 (+0.53%, +$379)
Nov 29, 2019: $73,138 (+2.27%, +$621)

This month was great spending-wise, as my SR will be around ~80%. Investments grew slowly but steadily. I've sold a domain with $180 profit, and received the first instalment out of 6 after a domain sale in October ($150). Received a $100 and a $200 offer for other domains, these are pending. December spending will be higher than November's, but I'll try to reach $75k by the end of the year.

Hello,

Jan 17, 2017:  € 12,138
Feb 06, 2017:  € 16,720
Apr 04, 2017:  € 23,400
Oct 23, 2017:  € 27,680

Jan 07, 2019:  € 36,415
Jun 17, 2019:  € 46,385
 Aug 8, 2019:  € 48,526
Aug 18, 2019: € 50,236
Oct 07, 2019:  € 54,012
Oct 27, 2019:  € 55,619
Nov 29, 2019:  € 58,468

My initial goal for this year was to have a 50K net worth and the stretch goal was an increase of 20K or a NW of 56.5K. I reached both of these goals so I’m really proud of myself. We have a kitchen remodel coming in and we want to change the windows so that could reduce the EOY NW. For 2020, I’m thinking of removing the emergency fund and sinking fund accounts from the NW calculations. This is money I save to spend as needed. It also inflates my saving rates while the money I invest is not increasing so it’s not helpful. It’s decided: as of Jan 2020, I’ll count just real estate and investments accounts in the NW.

So there, broke the 100K mark. Found MMM on sep/oct 2017, I was saving before as well but not with any goal and was also spending a lot. Started tracking in Dec 2017, so happy to reach the 100K mark in two years. Shows what a little bit of intention and direction can achieve. Though I had some nice bonus at work to help me along.  Thanks to all of you for support.

Hope to see you all soon on the next thread. I'll be still watching this one with interest.

My speculative fun-money made me some hundreds more this month, and markets acted in my favor. I am up by over 2.2k for November:

Investments and liquidity:                                                             €21,096
Illiquid positions (car, pension plan...):                                           €3,187
Total debt (CC on full pay, student loan, bank loan, all low interest): €6,040

Networth:                                                                                    €18,234

Goal for December: Prepay the last €965 of student loans, even if it is only at 0.7% interest. Don't want to include it in my 2020 bookkeeping. At this balance, it doesn't matter any longer. Be gone from my life, student debt :-)

20k is very doable if stocks don't tank before Christmas.

Best to you all!

April 2019: €10094.35
May 2019: €11629.87
June 2019: €12728.63
July 2019: €13021,33
August 2019: €10363,95
September 2019: €10338.28
October: €11128.59
November: €11227,46

Goals for 2019:
Savings: €5000
Investments: €10000

Same story as the last couple of months: lots of costs, some expected, some unexpected. Hopefully December will be a little bit better. I'll be off for 2 weeks over Christmas so not commuting will save a lot of money. When I'm off work I hardly spend anything except on food, and even with all the holiday food that's not going to break the bank - maybe €25-50 extra, depending on how many guests we'll have on how many days. I'm a fairly decent cook and I love to bake so I make everything from scratch.

November 2018 - $20,523
December 2018 - $20,923
January 2019 - $21,742
February 2019 - $23,933
March 2019 - $25,416
April 2019 - $26,812
May 2019 - $26,575
June 2019 - $27,758

August 2019 - $29,884
September 2019 - $30,602
October 2019 - $31,770

November 2019 - $33,081

Same footnote as before.  I neither added to nor deducted from my cash savings, so that was all 401K/market gains.  Honestly, it's a little scary at this point.

Hello everyone! It is my first time posting in this thread, I just made by way over from the race to $10k thread which I just surpassed.

Here is a basic breakdown of the numbers as of the end of the day today:

Total Cash/Cash Equivalents: $31,642
Total Liabilities: $20,131

Net Worth: $11,511

Virtually all of my liabilities are student loans. I also have some minor balances on my credit cards, which I pay off monthly. I've been aggressively attacking the student loans (see my participation in the student loan challenge if curious) and have made steady progress.

As for asset composition,  20% are in checking accounts, 13% is in my HSA and 67% is in my 401k.

9/29/17 - $11,511 (First post in thread)
6/30/18 - $36,000
7/31/18 - $38,676
8/31/18 - $40,277
9/30/18 - $50,572
10/31/18 - $46,085
11/30/18 - $48,956
12/31/18 - $46,003
1/31/19 - $53,028
2/28/19 - $58,276
3/31/2019 - $67,340
4/30/2019 - $70,674
5/31/2019 - $69,853
6/30/2019 - $75,757
7/31/2019 - $78,206
8/31/2019 - $83,589
9/30/2019 - $83,292
10/31/2019 - $87,539
11/30/2019 - $98,502

November Notes

Another dual paycheck month, which means December will be paycheck-less. It also brings me tantalizingly close to the $100K mark, which I will probably cross on January 1st (barring market setbacks of course) when I receive my next paycheck. Wowza.

Big jump as my partner and I decided to retroactively restructure the way we share car expenses, inflating my savings rate to 61% for the month. Now I'm set to blow the "double my NW in 2019" goal out of the water - or to surpass it by $400, at least.

Congrats to at least four people so far this month who are graduating!

Thanks @Imma! Double paycheck month + travel reimbursement helped a lot, wish every month was this good! You're doing a great job yourself as well keeping the upward trend even though you have big expenses. You've come so far compared to last year!

@Tass, congrats on your almost sure realization of doubling your NW again! Great jump also :)

And ofcourse congrats to all our graduations of this month. Meet you guys in the next thread.

Just contacted my former pension plan. Commuted value is difficult to calculate and I'll get a figure in six months. But I was assured I will get at least my contributions + interest, so: $6,826.01

So my current net worth:
$65,536.55 + $7,678.96 + $6,826.01 = ‬ $80,041.52‬  Woot!

December 1st update: $86,963.15

I received no pay over the summer, but travelled to England and Italy. I also treated myself to a new MacBook for work/pleasure.

With the threat of layoffs/strikes due to our new anti-education government, I will be slowing down my spending drastically. I know I'd be a lot closer to my $100,000 goal if I hadn't spent money on my trip/new technology, but you got to live a little.

I figure I will reach $100,000 by the end of February if my job remains stable.
