My update is as follows:

1/1/2016   $70,395.59
2/1/2016   $74,587.69
3/1/2016   $77,683.18
4/1/2016   $81,670.69
5/1/2016 $85,587.91

6/1/2016   $88,367.43
3 paycheques fall into next months update, but so does property tax! Plugging along and on target to 'graduate' pretty soon.

Well, I have been away for quite a while, and I didn't track all of my accounts for a few of the months. Things were pretty rough what with my dad's death, my wife and I leaving the Mormon church, my ADD diagnosis, and some health problems induced by my frequent travel to Mexico for work.

Good news though, $124,966.64! Quite a bit of that is due to timing the market with the purchase of my house, because it increased in price by almost $32k since I bought it in November (based on Zillow, which has been pretty accurate for my area).

I think I would like to start this challenge again, but with investments only this time. Turns out I have just as much money in investments now ($29k) as my net worth when I started the challenge ($20k) two years ago. $100k in two years for someone with a single income supporting my wife, 3.5. year old, and 2 year old on a salary of about $60k (before taxes). It is possible!

Dude that's rough. Losing your Father and your Religion are tough things. Awesome job on pushing forward even with the changes. Feel free to message me if you need an anonymous person to write to.

Wow, getting so close, congrats!! I anticipate being where you were in March by the end of this year. It feels so slow, but on the bright side I am over $13K ahead of where I was at the beginning of the year. We're all killin' it, though!!

4th January 2016 : 55k.
29th March 2016: 58k.
28th June 2016: 77k.

It's not bad considering the markets haven't been that good. I'm hopefully in the next 3 months that we get past 100k.

Great progress! Congratulations grads.

I'm quietly chuffed that mine has doubled over the 16 months since I started tracking. I wouldn't have predicted that at all.

Well the streak of raising my net worth for 9 consecutive month's came to end sadly. Moved into a new place and needed to buy a few small appliances as well as some other one time expenses that hit me hard this past month. July is a 3 pay check month and I am excited to get back on that increasing my net worth train. Now I have extra motivation to beat that 9 month Streak!

Somehow i just now saw this thread...and it is one i can actually not feel out of place :)

(2010-2013 amounts are my best guess. Didn't start tracking until 2014)

End of Year: Amount
2010: -$7,500
2011: $7,500
2012: $8,500 (bought a car - hence the relatively flat NW)
2013: $24,000
2014: $36,285 (Found MMM in October)
2015: $40,655 (Peaked at $48k, but then I liquidated some savings to buy a house)
Today: $48,000

There is a very slim chance i could hit 100k by the end of 2017...should get there in 2018 for sure.

2010: -$7,500
2011: $7,500
2012: $8,500 (bought a car - hence the relatively flat NW)
2013: $24,000
2014: $36,285 (Found MMM in October)
2015: $40,655 (Peaked at $48k, but then I liquidated some savings to buy a house)
2016 January1: $40,579
2016 July1: $53,694

shooting for 60-65k by the end of the year. 2017 goals will be 85-100k.

Just making my way over to the forum, been reading MMM off and on for the past 2 months (made my way through most of the archives at this point). I'm taking the longer road to FI - competitive ballroom and latin dance is my outside of work passion project and it's near-impossible to do well in without pretty large spending. Til the end of the year, won't be saving much except for Roth IRA and 401(k) - maxing out both including catching up for not contributing at a max-out rate the first 6 months of the year. On track to hit $100k w/o the car around 06/01/2017, assuming 0% return on investments (obviously, I'm hoping for a positive return, which would just make me hit $100k sooner). Looking forward to tracking my progress!

7/1/2016: $83,089.96 / $78,807.96 (w/ vs. w/o car - 2007 Mazda3)

Not sure how I managed to break forty, but I'll take it! (I also had to subtract the $1100 I have as a grant for school)

Decided to jump in the group if you all don't mind. I just merged all my stuff into "One Sheet to rule them all v3" so my data is a bit limited right now.

4/1/2016   $45,447.95
5/1/2016   $47,415.17
6/1/2016   $52,780.32

7/5/2016 $60,467.76

Mostly attributed to a reduction of debt, adding of an HSA and the stock market rebounded nicely.

Nov-15   $13,419.84
Dec-15   $19,983.09

Mar-16   $33,831.34
Apr-16   $38,873.65
May-16    $38453.77
Jun-16    $43398.36

Updated the house value in Mint so it was kind of a big jump, idk if it really reflects reality, but long term trends is all that actually matters so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

Finishing my basement so I can rent it out.  So I look forward to that big drop, though it means that my accrual rate will go way up!  I'll be getting 2.2% per month return on that and my mortgage and the fix up loans will be fully covered by rents, so I'm excite.

Hi. I haven't posted in here in a long time. I was participating in the challenge in 2014-2015 and found it pretty motivating, I am not sure why I stopped posting. I just did my calculations and my NW at present is about 48K, which is less than what it was when I was last following this thread in 2015. :(

I will take the facepunch and any motivation I can to get back on track! I'm close to 50K, so let's call that the interim goal.

Three paychecks this month plus a stock market bump and it's looking like I'll hit the $100k mark in August. I'll post more thoughts/stats next month, but I'm feeling very happy.

You're almost half way there (assuming continuous compounding and continuous contribution...$30k in this case)!

Going to go backwards hard this month and next with the purchase of a home. September will make most of that back up, though.

Hit the 20k mark yesterday. It feels great. I was at 0 in November coming out of school. Sometimes it feels like progress is so slow, but really it's significant. :)

I'd like to join in. I have had my big girl job outside of school since last May. Including the value of my car, I just recently became positive. $14,000 student loans and about $6k in my 401k.

Right now I'm at 30k. Started the year at 10k. Hoping to hit 45k by the end of the year! (Planned vacation will cut in the savings rate).

I did it! I finally graduated to the next thread! I've been MIA for the past few months due to life getting busy. I started a business, didn't enjoy it ended up selling it for about what i put in. I found a new job in a new industry, and now I've finally crossed the finish line! 101,705! All of which is liquid assets.

It happens quicker than you think, now i just wish Denver was still an affordable city, so I can start growing some home equity.

Wow, six figures liquid! Are you planning on doing any Vanguard index investing with some of that?

Closing costs for the house we're buying next week will set us back about $7k, down to $54k. $100k grad date looks like Dec 2017.

I have about 91,000 in investments, and the rest in cash. My plan from here is to save up for a down payment on a place, while still maxing out my retirement accounts, wish me luck!
