6/14/2020  $50,099
7/1/2020    $51,768
8/1/2020    $56,146
9/5/2020    $59,010
10/2/2020  $62,038
10/30/2020 $61,623
12/3/2020  $70,606.90
1/1/2021    $72,663
2/6/2021    $110,058

Well, the goal has been achieved much quicker than expected after losing my job.  Turns out the pension that was offered at the previous employer cashes you out if you haven't vested, so we were able to roll $30K into our IRA.  Not the way I expected to achieve the goal, but nice to have reached this milestone.  6 years ago when DW and I agreed to get out of debt and start saving didn't think we would ever get to this point.

Good job to everyone who is keeping on their path and I'll see you all in the next thread.

Nov 29, 2019: $73,138 (+2.27%, +$1,621)
Jan 01, 2020: $74,276 (+1.56%, +$1,138)
Feb 06, 2020: $73,621 (-0.88%, -$655)
March 05, 2020: $74,517 (+1.22%, +$896)
No data for April, I lost my interest seeing the losses :)
May 05, 2020: $68,620 (-8.59%, -$5,897)
June 04, 2020: $70,345 (+2.51%, +$1,725)
July 02, 2020: $72,483 (+3.04%, +$2,138)
August 05, 2020: $74,655 (+3.00%, +$2,172)

Jan 04, 2021: $83,207 (+2.38%, +$1,931 <- same as in Nov :) )
Feb 05, 2021: $82,000 (-1.45%, -$1,207)

January is the most expensive month in the year, because this is when I send half of the yearly utility fees to my wife (who then pays utilities in each month to the service provider). Moreover, this is the time of the year when we transfer a small amount to our little daughter's investment account. And, I usually put the yearly total of my monthly child tax credit (~$400/year) into my child's envelope, which we use for buying stuff for her. And, my investments performed quite bad (-4%) in January.

On the bright side, since I had quite a lot of cash laying around after selling an ETF in December, I could buy more ETFs at this "cheap" price :)
In addition, this was my best month as a domainer, I sold 4 domains for a total of $1500. I'm reinvesting the profit to further improve my business. This was an exceptional month, and I do not expect anything similar this year.

I hope my ETFs go up this month, and hopefully I'll receive my long-awaited overtime payment ($120) and employee referral ($800) from my workplace. I also expect a strong SR (>65%), so I'm aiming $85,000 this month.

My stash has reached $79,000 (assuming a 20% loss on whatever gets pulled out of my 401k), which is larger than my remaining mortgage and student loan balances combined. Feels good.

Congrats @Kazyan  - a milestone like that is a true game-changer!

I do not include my savings to buy expensive "fun items" like new cellphone, electronics etc. as it is not very big. My checking account is also not included as it has money I will likely spend this month. Goal for 2021 is to make it to $100K. - Aiming for June

Roughly 1,3k of that gain were savings. It was already at almost 48k, but then BTC came back down again. I started last summer with less than 5 % in crypto, now it's up to almost 30 % without any additional investments into crypto. It's crazy, but all additional investments still go into ETFs.

Jan 2021$57,339.00$89,777.45
Feb 2021$64,586.53$97,514.01

Back to a more normal month, spending wise. These numbers were looking better until a dip late in the month. Oh well, time to keep chugging along. Savings rate for the month was 65%.

As an aside, I think I'll stay in this group until my invested amount is $100k, as that was my original intention. But for further races, I might consider using total net worth instead. That's because in February, my wife found out that she landed her dream job in the Bay Area... so we'll have to move out there. As a consequence, we're considering whether we should start aggressively saving for a down payment (or increase emergency fund) in cash. But that's for when we get past $100k invested... hopefully soon.

Tracking investments, emergency fund and additional pension investments (all to be used to retire together with SO!)
(not tracking company pension investments, house value and current accounts / special project savings)

15 May 2020: EUR 17,034 (started tracking)
15 December 2020: EUR 23,325

31 January 2021: EUR 24,040
28 February 2021: EUR 25,103
(2021 goal: EUR 35K)

YES!!!! Crossed the EUR 25K mark. And having the first two digits change upward every month is very motivating! I just hope I can keep up and have this change every month, so I will reach my 2021 goal.

2/5/2021: $67,571 (+4,059)
3/3/2021: $70,618 (+3,047)

Almost the entire amount added this month was due to contributions. Cash flowed our roof replacement but replaced the money in savings with our tax refund. Going to keep it there as a small emergency fund. With just our contributions we could get to 100k by December. Im hoping with the markets help to reach it by October.  +24,323 added since ive been tracking. +14,466 this year.

Bikes are always a worthy investment along the way to FIRE.

(I say this as I look at increasing the number of bikes I own, hah!)

Way to go @mgardner88

I'm in a similar situation, being very close to $100k, and I am reminding myself that markets will do what they do,
and no matter what my persistence will keep pushing the needle higher.

Keep it up

I had a 77% SR in February, and I even had two domain sales totaling $653, but I had a bad month again investment-wise (-4%). No problem, it was a great opportunity again to buy cheap ETFs :) I expect an $800 referral payment from my company, and maybe we'll get the yearly bonus (~$1600-1700) with our next salary, so I hope my SR will be even better than this month.

Thanks @mgardner88 .  The biggest surprise in this process I think has been seeing just how much it starts to add up.
Not too long ago I was on the "Racing to 10k" thread just trying together there.  Now I'm starting to fantasize about multiple SIX FIGURES, which is on its way.

3/23/21- $81890

Really thought I had stalled out, no, I guess I haven't!
I finally am getting my unemployment unlocked after a couple months, it's super goofed up now (they input wrong numbers) but at least I will get part of it.  Income should have a little boost again- some increased $, regular work opportunities.  Hopefully some gigs actually will happen for music this year too.

Getting ready to have a wedding this year (yay!!!!) which will be an expense (we are TRYING to keep it under $5k but still nice- ~125 guests in a metro area?  right....). Luckily our parents want to help.  We don't need it but dang, will appreciate it.

GOAL - $100K by Dec 2021

$  4,588 June 2017
$ 10,117 Dec 2017

$ 10,715 Jan 2018
$ 31,034 Dec 2018

$ 31,094 Jan 2019
$ 50,000 Dec 2019

$ 53,000 Jan 2020
$ 85,000 Dec 2020

$ 86,863 Jan 2021
$ 92,800 Feb 2021
$ 95,200 Mar 2021

PROJECTED April $ 97,500 - I expect to reach $100K by mid May.

2021 has been such smooth sailing it is a bit unnerving.

I will not move on to another thread since this $100K serves primarily as a cash cushion so I can sleep at night. I will be shifting to investments starting in June, perhaps look into other possibilities for monthly investments.
This 100K will remain liquid at all times, it is meant to be an untouchable cash cushion in the event SHTF or we need cash while Mr. R. transitions into retirement.
I intend to spend a bit more monthly in the future for indulgencies, but I will continue to earmark a percentage for investments of some sort, probably just Vanguard but I might play a bit as well, we'll see.

Together we have met our FI goals a while ago and Mr. R. is on track for retirement in April of 2023.
No fat fire here, but comfortable retirement - we consider ourselves fortunate, we are situated well with decent health to boot.

Thanks for all the encouragement along the way, y'all helped me find my way and stay on course.
Thank you everyone for the enlightenment, inspiration but most of all for opening my eyes for what is possible, even if you are low income.
I'll report back once more when I'm past $100K. Cheerio!:)
