Jan 2017 - 9,926
Feb 2017 - 15,869
March 2017 - 21,618
April 2017 - 22,738
May 2017 - 29,255
June 2017 - 30,880

Little less growth than I would have liked this month, mainly due to 2 different trips that I took in May.  Already had cash saved up for those trips though, so overall not terrible!

Great job to everyone who graduated! It helps put it all in perspective for those of us just starting out.

My growth is on the right track, but a little less than I wanted for the month. I have a bunch of outstanding work reimbursements that should hit next week, all of which will go into savings.

2/1/2017 - ($6,832)
3/1/2017 -   $66
4/1/2017 - $ 6,298
5/1/2017 - $12,179
6/1/2017 - $17,418

Woohoo, I am #1 on the spreadsheet (temporarily, of course. let me bask in my glory for a few moments. LOL). I updated spreadsheet so you can enter your 5/31/17 NW # - see post #1 for link to doc)

Whoo for the (temporary) #1 spot! :) And thanks for the reminder...I just added myself to the spreadsheet.

I'll throw down.

June 1, 2017 - $51,115 [$83.8k in investments and $32.7k in 0% liabilities (loan from wife & monthly credit card balance)]

I expect it will be a crawl for the next few months due to having a 4 month old and my wife being a stay at home mom (by choice) for the foreseeable future.

May Update

Dec 2017 - 45,241
Jan 2017 - 55,143
Feb 2017 - 58,239
Mar 2017 - 69,145
Apr 2017 - 74,332
May 2017 - 77,876

Pretty standard month for me. No major amount of overtime. A little electrical work done, but no other unusual expenses. Company shares did well, but eventually would like to switch over to etfs as they account for over half of my net worth right now.
Congrats to all the recent graduates 👍

Thanks Eporedia :)
My increases have been driven by massive amounts of overtime and a nice tax return this year. Monthly gains should slow down over the summer months. Goal is to hit 100k by the end of the year, with a stretch goal of 110k.

Good month in the markets and continued my usual savings despite the 2 week vacation I just took. Yay to YNAB for planning and smoothing sporadic spending.

I only really track my 401k balance (at end of month) and only for the last couple years.

In my 20s I put something like 10% in and thought I was doing great (better than average), we also tackled 1 student loan, 2 car loans, credit card debt, and bought our 1st home (now a rental).  For the last several years I have only been putting 6% (plus a company match) into the 401k, while we saved for a wedding, down payment on a house, started a family, went to 1 steady income and 1 self employed income, and are continuing the last student loan.  We are still working on paying off my last student loan and building the self employed income but I am really hoping to hit $100k in the 401k sometime in 2018, if the self employed income starts taking off and we can contribute more to an IRA I will add that into the calculations too.

I did do a quick back of the envelope net worth calculation that included debt, primary and rental home value, and vehicle value and that put net worth around $150k, but since I don't regularly track that stuff I don't want to join the next group until the retirement accounts are above $100k.

My goal is $90k by the end of year, I am starting to think I might actually hit that goal.

Little less progress than I had hoped this month considering I had a large tax return coming in. Months ago I foolishly invested in a fairly volatile ETF that took a hard hit this month. Oops.

Hello Mustachians,  This is my first post. I discovered Mr. Money Mustache in Jan 2017 and the blog slapped some common sense into me. Here are my numbers, I started keeping records in January. Only tracking 401k and cash, no properties yet. Congrats to everyone who is here and those who recently graduated.

Jan  2017     $45K
Feb  2017     $62k (sold one car, paid 5k CC debt).
March  17     $69k
April 2017     $77k
May  2017     $83k

That is great, MVal!!!  As a mustachian it is hard to know how to celebrate such things, ha ha.  At the very least you can post it here and know that your fellow mustachians are celebrating with you.

Thanks!! I graduated at the very end of last month! Here's a little start to the celebration and maybe an anthem for those still "tryin' to get 100"...!

Not starting under $10k... But hopefully I can join anyways.  My wife and I are 32 and 34 respectively, and are expecting our first child in October!

Not counting home equity($100k-ish):

My Personal RRSP: $9800(All in XAW)
My Work RRSP: 7500(Misc Sun Life Canadian Equity Index Funds)
Wife RRSP: $9900(currently in cash, in the process of transferring banks)
Chequing: $8900
Credit Card: -$3600(big credit card month partly due to eventual baby, it's paid off monthly)
Total: $36,100
Not counted: Expected tax return due to RRSP Contributions thus far: $4400

My wife will be on Mat Leave for a year starting in October, so the trek to $100k might be a slow one. During her year off, we can only save about $1k per month.  Will be able to save around $3000/month once she's back to work.

I'm going to set our $100k goal for the end of 2019.

June Update

Dec 2016 :  45,241
Jan 2017 :  55,143
Feb 2017 :  58,239
Mar 2017 :  69,145
Apr 2017 :  74,332
May 2017:  77,876
Jun 2017 : 82,442

An increase of 4,566 for the month of June, another solid month 😄. This increase was once again driven by a good amount of overtime, and I am actually hoping it will slow down a bit over the summer months. Besides that, expenses were on the high side but pretty standard for the month.
Investments were up a bit, due to my company shares doing well. I hate having one company as a large percentage of my investment portfolio, so I just have to determine the best way to get them into etfs, in registered accounts. I'm thinking the only way is to sell, eat the capital gains, then rebuy VCN, XAW in my registered accounts. Any thoughts or input on this idea would be greatly appreciated.
Keep up the good work everyone, looks like we are all moving in the right direction 📈

4/28/17 $82,123.14 start of competition
5/31/17 $83,416.85 an increase of $1,293.71
6/30/17 $88,646.63 an increase of $5,229.78!

Holy smokes, what a great month June was! I got a bonus check of about $1,400 this month and an extra $200 in deposits from my renters.  But outside of that $1,600 I would attribute the rest to my typical savings rate of about $1,200 and market increase.  July will be another big month because of my company's 401k contribution but outside of that I don't expect to see anymore large bumps like this until my December bonus.

Jan 2017 - 9,926
Feb 2017 - 15,869
March 2017 - 21,618
April 2017 - 22,738
May 2017 - 29,255
June 2017 - 30,880
July 2017 - 40,255

Had a great month.  Upped my 401k by a couple percentage points, paid down a couple grand in student loans and the company I work for gave out some nice equity to the employees.  Going to keep chugging along, hopefully I can keep these gains up!

2016-10-01    $51,413
2016-11-01   -$25,621 (bought a condo, not included in net worth calculation)
2016-12-01   -$25,405
2017-01-01   -$25,189
2017-02-01   -$24,977

2017-04-01   -$15,838 [Quit Job - Started Consulting]
2017-05-01    $7,477
2017-06-01    $16,623
2017-07-01    $27,638

A great progress month ($11,015), lots of overtime accounts for going way above my expected savings.

Riding my bike everywhere now (if I don't walk). Cutting spending wherever I can. Still a slow strategy/ mind-shift.

Taking profits out of the business weekly instead of bi-weekly to increase time in market (accounting for GST / Taxes / Vacation accrual)

Switching to RRSP savings in July (from TFSA weekly) to lower tax burden in good year.

Far off Future:

Smith Manoeuvre once TFSA/RRSP are full.

June 7, 17     $86K (aiming for 90K @ the end of the month)

June was a frugal month and I took advantage of the '3-paychecks month'. June 30 stash was ~$93k. July will be a slow month.
