I really like your metric, @comicguy.
I have adopted it for myself, as well - the first goals I have hit last year, I am now working on 500 quid/quarter (but not yet consistently there).

hey comicguy are there any particular dividend bearing stocks/funds that you like?

I have always toyed with the idea of having a massive position in a dividend growth fund that will act like a pension when I retire, but I am not sure where to park my cash

The only advice I can give is invest in companies/funds that you know/understand in order to be able to make appropriate choices!

I reached goal #3 on average but not still not equally enough distributed across the months. So, will keep working on this by adding some more distro funds into this year's asset allocation.

It is difficult for me to track my monthly dividend as some of my accounts do not post the dividends received until the end of the year.


2021: $1,204 (Dividends/Interest)
2022: $2,536 (Dividends/Interest)
2023: $3,696 (Dividends/Interest)

Solid progress again this year. I am hoping to reach the 5k mark in 2024 with a stretch goal of 5.5k. As always, it is great to see everyone's progress here!

I started tracking Dividends in 2021 and I've made some pretty massive progress in that time. I don't plan to update regularly, but wouldn't mind updating this thread yearly to track my overall progress! Here's where I'm at over the last three years:

2021: $411.02
2022: $1,103.17
2023: $2,011.63

My overall goal with dividends is to get them to $5,400/year and a stretch of $6,700/year. If I can keep up the pattern of doubling dividend payouts every year...well that would be amazing (unlikely though, haha). A lot of my dividend paying stocks lowered their payouts this year, so hoping there is a bit of a bump as the economy picks up in 2024. But who knows!
