One Song Wonder : Late September
« on: September 19, 2018, 10:23:34 AM »
One song: one improvement
The brain child of @joonifloofeefloo
Thread Sept 19-30

After a short time, we lock the thread and start a new one so people aren't receiving notifications for the rest of their lives.

The idea: You know those tasks that are quick and really improve your day, but you avoid like the plague? This thread supports us to set press play on the song of our choice and move on that task for the duration of the song. Extra Challenge: Whenever we see this thread because someone has bumped it up with a new "go", whoever is on it stops what they're doing, and joins in.

Stuff one might improve, depending on personal circumstances:

*improve minimalism: scan stuff
*improve personal security: shred stuff
*improve environment: put dry dishes away
*improve mood: write a thank you note
*improve body: do pushups
*improve blood sugar: eat some protein
*improve ambience: put the thing back into the storage room
*improve foot happiness: vacuum one room
*improve stress load: wash one unmentionable
*improve floor smoothness: wash one section of floor

I miss this thread (was away for most of the last 2 weeks!), so am here to revive it and see if any others would like to join.

Off-topic: I just burst out laughing because I am HAVING SO MUCH FUN at work! I was off sick for 36 hours and woke this morning aware that I was good to go again. Some of my One Song focus today will need to be "chilling" so I don't overdo things.

Well, this is a very positive update! Enjoy your surge of energy and then also the subsequent chill-out :)

I did a house clean up today which started out with my earlier post (we were having 5 guests show up, which turned into 7 guests...so people will be sleeping on the couch!)
They are on an outing, so now I relax before they all get back to the house for dinner

omg, so glad I did that!! It's like I'm recovering from a concussion. I used a second pot for rice, though.

ha, I was thinking it's never too late...then realized the thread is "late Sept" while now is October :)   I guess technically you're too late, but can participate anyway!

Very cool!  If I get enough gumption, I may even start the early Oct thread.

During Black Sabbath's Paranoid (a very short song), I emailed Mr. X our leases from 2009-2004.  He has to provide rental history to a prospective landlord.  Not sure this is valuable to the landlord since it's so old, but it gets Mr. X off my back :)

I'd like to join if I can:
Capital cities - Safe and Sound
Need to write three emails and do some quick accounting for DS2's soccer team where I am treasurer.

Because this song starts with "I could lift you up. I could show you what you want to see. And take you where you want to be." It always gets me in a positive upbeat mood.

First low-sleep night in a good while. How did I live like this every day until very recently? Anyway, it's 6am and I might as well be productive, so:
