This is a huge issue for me and I am completely on board for the challenge. I can always seem to justify purchases for clothing, shoes and outerwear, for both me and the kids. I need to cut out the shopping for all of us and it will save me a tonne. I wish I had tracked my clothing spending last year, but I am new to this stuff and have spent the last 15 years just spending whatever was in my bank account with very little thought. My only caveat is if by some miracle, I lose enough of my fluff through all the bike riding I am going to do in the coming year to go down a clothing size, then I will try to find second hand clothing, or maybe arrange a swap with friends or something. I am ashamed to admit that I have never bought any clothing second hand, but I have donated 1000s in barely worn clothing, often new with tags. I also agree that underwear and socks don't count. I just can't abide having dodgy old underwear and my drawer is looking pretty sad. Thankfully I have a few gift cards that I can use to get me started!
