Younger Next Year
« on: March 01, 2017, 01:42:00 PM »
Just read a great book, Younger Next Year.  Targeting 45 minutes of ~140 bpm exercise per day.  Anyone wanna join the challenge?

Here's a post I wrote about it.

I saw your other post to attract traffic to your blog, and since you can't "find" the forum rules, even though it's clearly indicated in the FAQ; Here they are.

Oops...please forgive this unpleasant and rude newbie.

Ain't feeling the love, but I deserved that one.  Wasn't trying to self promote, but Tsk-Tsk earned, and taken.

Had to respond as I do love this book, but my preference is the Younger Next Year for Women book.  I do not always manage to exercise 6 days a week and my strength training is definitely lacking but bit by bit I am getting better. The book prompted me to get a fitness tracker, work to get 10,000 steps a day and over 2 years I lost over 40 pounds. I am always looking for some way to work an activity that will increase my heart rate into my daily activities.  I think the message of the book really does work with the mustachian mindset.
Unfortunately Dr. Harry Lodge passed away just the other day.  Link to his obituary  https://www.nytimes.com/2017/03/14/books/henry-lodge-dead-co-author-younger-next-year.html?_r=0

and link to Chris's (co-author) comments on their friendship http://youngernextyear.com/blog/

Harry's rules:
Exercise six days a week.
Do serious aerobic exercise four days a week.
Do serious strength training with weights, two days a week.
Spend less than you make.
Quit eating garbage.
Care.
Connect and commit.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
