Oh, got it.  Nicely done!

Not having a sweet tooth is a major advantage that I can't claim.  I do find though, that I miss crunchy, salty snacks on the low carb diet.  I tried making spiced roasted almonds at home once and that did help.

Another good snacky item:  Tiger nuts.   They're very chewy little tubers with a ton of fiber, and they taste a bit like coconut.  I get the raw unpeeled kind, on subscribe and save from Amazon.   You have to soak them for a day before eating.

Back to under 220 today which I am happy with following 4 days with at least one unhealthy meal. Hoping to hit 215 before my work trip on March 10th.

Work trip got cancelled due to virus, I hit 215.6 as of this morning. Last few weekends have been terrible as far as eating habits so perhaps this virus situation can actually help us stick more to healthy habits. Overall still pleased though.

Bit of a stall this week.  I made some rice and treated myself to more generous portions than last time.   I think maybe that's crossed my carb tolerance line, because otherwise I was pretty strict.  On the plus side, my size 10 pants are getting loose enough that I'm thinking I might need a size 8 - which is the size I used to be in my 30s.  Hoorah!  When I started, my size 12 patients were getting tight around the waist.

8/1/2019 - 161 lbs.  Started keto diet.
1/1/2020 - 138 lbs.  Started adding "safe starches" (potatoes and brown rice) in mid-January
2/2/2020 - 137.4
2/9/2020 - 136.6
2/16/2020 - 136.0
2/23/2020 - 136.0
2/28/2020 - 134.8
3/8/2020 - 134.4
3/14/2020 - 134.4

The next 1-2 months should be a good opportunity to stick to the diet:  no business or personal travel, no restaurants, not much venturing out, and possibly mandated working from home (we find out more tonight).

Week 4 check-in, missed Week 3

2/17 - Started at 153.6
2/23 - 152.9
2/29 - 151.4
3/7 - 151.9
3/14 - 149.5

I've been much better this last week about keeping my calories right around 2000/day, and it seems like it's working.  Keeping my carbs low(er) and having gum on hand is helping a lot with my snacking.

I do have to cut back on the exercise I've been doing - I just got a mole on my thigh with some mildly abnormal pathology removed, on the recommendation of the pathologist, so I'm not supposed to be putting much tension on the stitches for a while.  Probably no squatting for a week or two, or biking.  Good thing my gym is in my garage, though, so I can just bench for a while and not feel like people are judging me for skipping leg day :)

I'm a little bit stuck, at 142.  But considering the state of the world, the race cancellations, and being stuck at home with kids in the RAIN I'll take it.

I'm glad to finally see some movement in the right direction. I've been lifting weights, walking 3-5 miles a day, still watching my alcohol intake, just being mindful of what I am eating. Not counting calories at time but may if my weight loss stalls.

I'm 41. Currently trying to get back to 110-112 lbs because I'm just barely 5 feet tall and that's a healthy, comfortable weight for my frame.

After a major emotional shock+stress eating last spring and all the winter holiday food, I was at 125 lbs at the New Year and am at 121 lbs now. Most of that 4-lb loss was from cutting waaaaay back on alcohol (from two drinks per night to maybe three per week) and almost entirely cutting out simple carbs.

One month later, no weight lost. Holding at 122 with some PMS water gain (can feel the bloating). Still, February was an incredibly stressful month and I am fighting seasonal depression. I will count avoiding weight gain from emotional eating as a win.

Yesterday’s weigh-in: 120.5 lbs.

Apparently I’m not stress-eating as much as I expected. I’ve noticed the thought pattern, “Do you really need to eat that? You can’t just go to the store and buy more” creeping in when I eat, and I think it’s helped with portion control. Like, I bought potato chips yesterday but since I know they have to last for a while, I only ate a small handful.

January Start: 156
Feb Start: 154

March 8: 152.6

So slow! Averaging about about a third of a pound per week.

March 27: 153

Am frankly thrilled that I am not gaining at this point. I feel myself wanting to stress eat more, and definitely between 10-Midnight when I'm doing catch up work and when I am doing school work with my kiddos!

I'm holding steady, which is really all I can ask for given the current environment. Goal is to work out every day of "shelter in place". I've been having wine more regularly, and baking. So, calories are up. Overall steps are down, despite working out daily

Weighed in for the first time in Thursday and was surprised to see I actually lost a bit. Down to 215 now, lowest weight in years and looking like my goal of 208 is getting closer and attainable.

I’m at pretty much an all time low as an adult. I find it easy to control my food intake at home much more than in the office. Although I haven’t been lifting weights for a month so part of this is muscle loss. I’m doing a lot of cardio waking and running outside and videos online but have no weights here. I started using a water jug but it’s awkward. I also stopped drinking during the week for the sake of my mental health.

Count me in on the weight loss during quarantine crowd
Apr 4     241.6
Apr 25   236.2

Now I'm going to get more serious. Going to try to lose a pound or two per week for my health . . . at least get down under 200, although 185 is probably my healthiest weight.

-7.6 since Jan 6.

Quarantine is helping me stick to my diet (no restaurant temptations). While I get less regular activity working from home compared to the office, I am trying to offset with more home workouts.

Such great progress everybody!

I stalled during the lockdown, but I'm glad I checked the last record I left on this thread:

8/1/2019 - 161 lbs.  Started keto diet.
1/1/2020 - 138 lbs
2/2/2020 - 137.4
2/9/2020 - 136.6
2/16/2020 - 136.0
2/23/2020 - 136.0
2/28/2020 - 134.8
3/8/2020 - 134.4
3/14/2020 - 134.4
5/10/2020 - 132.0

I've been indulging in a little glass of wine at the end of the day, but otherwise staying low carb.  My biggest problem now is that I don't have any pants that fit!  Just sweat pants and a pair of jeans that I got a tailor to take in at the waist.  I hope the lockdown doesn't end before I have a chance to break out the sewing machine and figure out how to do my own tailoring.

Was killing it on the weight loss this year until the coronavirus lockdown began.

Started the weight loss December 12, 2019 at 232.8

dropped 22.6 lbs in 83 days to get to 210.2 on March 9th, 2020 in preparation for a Mexico beach vacation.  The vacation got cancelled the day we were about to leave and i didn't step back on a scale until May 4th.

A combo of social isolating at home and fastfood/ordering in over 2 months and in 56 days i put 15 lbs back on.

Anyways starting over again, the goal is back under 200.

5/16/2020 - 225.8

I have been trying to loose since January, goal was 120 from 134, mostly fasting and trying to cut out junk food. I am down to 125 last 2 weeks. I feel practice helps, and a two day fast 2 to 3 times a month and some 18 hour fasting days as well. I feel it took months to work up to the long fast.  Good luck everyone

Congrats @BikeFanatic I am on a similar journey but took a different route. I was 138 a few years ago and got down to 129 then last year to 125 and now this year to 121. Want to lose a pound or two more. I did MyFitnessPal. Last push involved cutting down on wine.

I'm late to the party, but I'll join.

After someone linked Diet Doctor in another thread I've been motivated to try keto this summer. I don't eat meat that often but all the other foods in the plan I really like. This week I'm doing a "soft start", using up perishable non-keto foods and sticking to the diet plan apart from that. I can give up pasta, bread & co no problem. My biggest hurdle is staying away from sugar, especially in the form of chocolate. Maybe some accountability in this thread will help.

My aim is losing 2-3 kilos per month and 15 kilos until the end of the year.

08.06. - 80.1
12.06. - 79.5
15.06. - 80.2
20.06. - 78.4

Bit worried about the fluctuation, but overall I am moving in the right direction.

29.4. - 68.0
17.5. - 66.7
31.5. - 65.6
14.6. - 65.2
28.6. - 65.4

hm. stagnation?
gorged myself on bbq and cuba libre at a friends birthday celebration the day before, admittedly ;P

I lost 5kg since february. I also hit a plateau and solved it by adding 15 min of intense cardio per day, while drinking a bit less beer. My cardio was climbing stairs quickly (5 floors) and walking down kinda slowly, but it can be sprinting or a hiit youtube routine.

Joining this thread to hopefully add some more accountability.  I'm not sure what I was at the beginning of the year, but before quarantine I was 189.  In the first month of that, I went up to 202.  However, at the same time I started exercising more and actually lost 3 inches off my waist.  Since May I've been working to loose weight and keep exercising.  I've been tracking calories and working on not stress snacking.  I'm down to 192 today, and have lost another inch off my waist, taking my waist-to-hip ratio below 0.8 (I'm female).  I'm only 5'4", so I have a long way to go per BMI, but I'm encouraged that I'm moving in the right direction.

3/2020 - 189
4/2020 - 202
7/1/20 - 192

-11 pounds since Jan 6. Bit of a plateau for me the last couple months. Current plan is to drop another 2.5 lbs, then take a 2 week "diet break" of not tracking food intake.

I need to rejoin this.  On vacation, my challenge is just to try to be 0.1 pound down when I get back.  Will need to be active to get it done.

Apr 4     241.6
Apr 25   236.2
Jul 28    231.4

The past week has been really stressful, and I literally just had a chocolate croissant AND a brownie for breakfast. With milk. The milk has calcium, right? I'm calling this a win.

Ok, I didn't hit that goal.  But I am committed now to dropping weight.

Starting weight (Aug. 1) -- 209.1
Goal (by Dec. 31) -- 195

My goal is to drop one pound a week, which should get me there with a little bit of cushion.  If I hit the goal early, then I'll just maintain through year end.  If I don't, then I'll keep pressing.  I'd like to enjoy holiday treats, so it would be good to knock out a big push in the next few months and then ease off in the last five weeks of the year.

I'm starting by weighing every day and staying active each day.  I may start logging food again, which is time consuming but is what got me to really drop my weight before.  I'll check in here every week, even if just to report weight with no comments.

Aug. 8 -- 206.1

So I think when I did my weigh in last week I was bloated that morning, so this first week's drop looks larger than I am sure it was in reality.  So I'll need to keep that in mind in future weeks if I have a smaller drop or stagnate.

Anyways, I'm proud of myself for starting this off well and that I was able to make progress without needing to laboriously track all my food.  I'll track if I need to, but it's a PITA so if I can make progress without it, all the better.

My success this week was purposefully going on some long walks and also portion control, esp. deserts, snacks and alcohol.

3/2020 - 189
4/2020 - 202
7/1/20 - 192
8/11/20-194

Not happy about that.  Not stress snacking has been harder.  I'm just starting to exercise more again, so hopefully that will help, since it has in the past.  I need to start tracking my food again.

Hello Group.. I am glad  I found this thread. I had joined the "Losing Weight in 2019" towards the end of last year but did not post regularly and did not manage to lose as much as I wanted. This year has been different though and would like to share my progress with all of you.

Some background : My highest weight was 254 Lbs around 2015. Since then I had managed to get it down to low 190 Lbs. Then it creeped back to high 190 Lbs last year. This year with the pandemic and with all the social distancing, I managed to control  and change my eating habits. This was pleasantly surprising and fairly easy. I think cooking at home and removing all the eating out helped a lot. I also added half hour of pushups, planks and other core strengthening exercise and made a point of taking at least 5000 steps everyday. My wife has been very supportive and willing participant in the walks and proper diet. She provided a huge boost in my effort. Started March with 204 Lbs and went down to 172 Lbs and again creeped up to 182 Lbs. There are momentary lapses but it just provides an additional motivation to do better since I have seen the weight go down.

I measure myself everyday in the morning to see my progress. My goal is to reach at least 154 Lbs and then I will decide if to reduce more or not. I will post here weekly. It is going to be fun.

August 16 : 176 Lbs

3/2020 - 189
4/2020 - 202
7/1/20 - 192
8/11/20-194
8/22/20-188

I'm below my pre-pandemic weight!  So happy about this.  I started exercising again and was doing much better about snacking.  I'm so glad that setback was just minor and not an upward trend.  Now I just need to keep on this path.
