Goal Weight: 150 lbs

1-1-2019: 183.4 lbs
1-7-2019: 180.2 lbs
1-14-2019: 175.6 lbs
1/21/2019: 174.0 lbs
1/28/2019: 173.6 lbs

2/11/2019: 171.8 lbs
2/18/2019: 172.6 lbs

2/25/2019: 169.8 lbs

Down into the 160s! first time in a while for that. need to lose another couple of pounds this week to win my diet bets ending next Monday. Have to have a good finishing push.

@Slow&Steady I am in the same boat. My shirts were getting really tight when I first started and now that are fitting rather well!!

@elaine amj that is amazing progress so far. Looks like you will beat that bet easy if you keep that same pace.

That IS amazing! Such a fantastic feeling!!

@bcbaseballman Thanks! Some days it feels like the progress is so slow but then it's exciting when a pound or two disappears in a whoosh.

I was on a seesaw of emotions over the weekend. Sometimes feeling great that I was losing and sometimes feeling frustrated and dealing with some diet fatigue.

Last night I felt fat and made the mistake of trying on cruise clothes. Oh well, I was able to choose pretty much all my clothes. Just annoying to try on dresses that looked awful.

The scale looked pretty good this morning! Been a tiny bit frustrated that my weight hasn't budged much over the last couple of weeks. I know better since it was that time of the month, but still it's not mentally easy to see the same numbers (or higher!) day after day. This week, I dropped 2 lbs, so I really am right on schedule. Today I weighed in at 141.8. 12.2lbs lost in the past 8.5 weeks.

So there is a good chance I could reach my stretch goal of 140lbs before my cruise in 1.5 weeks!!!

Did you try them with shapewear? I am objectively not as "skinny" as I was back in the day, but I sometimes choose fitted dresses that I would NEVER have worn back then with a little help from Spanx. Spanx + confidence = a powerful combination.

I started the year at 157 and I got down to 151 at the beginning of the month, but then I went on vacation for 2.5 weeks and now I'm back up to 158. And my goal was to hit my goal weight of 140 by the end of March! Ha!  Maybe by April, possibly. More likely by October or November since I can't seem to lose more than 2 lbs a month on average.

Started Keto the day after the superbowl (Feb 4).  I usually crash and burn on diets within 2 weeks... I'm 3.5 weeks in and show no sign of stopping keto!

5'10. Male. 28.

Starting weight: 193.5
Goal weight: 175
Holy shit I'm stunned goal weight: 165

2/4/2019: 193.5
2/11/2019: 189.4
2/18/2019: 186.7
2/25/2019: 186.1

Total: 7.4 pounds (2.47 pounds per week on average).

I did touch 184 for a day... I'm trying to only focus on what I weigh on Monday (I dunno, for consistencies sake).  Trying to focus on the mental health side of dieting and working out.... I'm optimistic this is going to stick long term and be a lifestyle, not a diet!

I'm down to 229 (from 233 at the beginning of the year). I had the mother of all stalls. Wonder if the holidays had anything to do with it.

My goal is to hit 199 before June 15.

I went missing in action... First I was sick in flu and tonsillitis, which turned into sinusitis, which still keeps me company. Feeling so much better but can still not exercise properly.
Then I have men in my garden... and an excavator. A water leak was discovered last Thursday and they are digging around my house. It is only outdoor and water is now shut off, but there was a threat of it turning much worse. DH and kids were gone a few days so I had to deal with it and I have been stress eating in the evenings to cope.

I have now gone up to 147.3 (66.8 kg). I was at 145.3 at lowest so not total disaster. But I need to break the spiral.
DH is back now and I have a couple of days off with the kids (holiday week) so we will go to the indoor pool (to get clean, no water since Tuesday) and to move around a bit. We will probably also walk a lot, and go to one of all the free museums.

I am actually still below my planned curve, since I lost a lot when I was sick, so there is still hope.

It's interesting how you go through phases in fat loss where you can't really see much visible change for a while then suddenly one day you can. I feel like I'm in one of those in between areas. Have to keep going.

Agree to that. I had one of those moments a couple of weeks ago, when I could see that I had lost around the belly, and I could comfortably wear an old pair of pants. But now, I can _see_ that the 2 lbs I gained back placed themselves comfortably around my mid... Not a lot of weight but I sure see it.

I am wearing a MEDIUM size shirt today and it is not tight!

That's great!

February weigh-in:

11/26/2017     253.4
12/31/2017     242.6
01/31/2018     234.8
02/28/2018     224.8
03/31/2018     220.0
04/29/2018     214.4
05/31/2018     209.4
06/30/2018     206.2
07/28/2018     201.6      27.4% BF
08/31/2018     193.8      25.7% BF
09/29/2018     191.2      25.1% BF
10/31/2018     187.6      24.3% BF
11/30/2018     186.0      24.0% BF
12/31/2018     186.6      24.0% BF
01/31/2019     181.2      23.0% BF
02/28/2019     181.6.     23.1% BF
Goal                175.0      20.0% BF

I've been dieting pretty much continuously since late 2017 and I think I need a break from it. I'm only about 7 pounds from my ultimate goal but I don't think I'm prepared to do what it will take to get there right now so I'm going to try to maintain around 182 with a "normal" calorie intake (around 2400 calories) while continuing my exercise routine. I'll still post here to track my maintenance and maybe get back to dieting in a few months.

Ugh...those stalls are frustrating. Especially when you are in active weight loss mode, working hard and not seeing results. I have a minor hump every month over the two weeks surrounding my period and i have to keep reminding myself to stick to the plan. Eventually it always works.

My mother is big into intermittent fasting. I am sorta doing it right now mostly because I am not taking the time to eat breakfast before my morning swim. So mostly no eating from bedtime until 1/2pm. She tried suggesting my successful weightloss is due to IF. But I am losing at the exact same rate I did the last time I counted calories. I will say it makes it a little easier to fit in junky snacks and chocolate when I am skipping a 250/300 calorie breakfast every day.

My goal for the end of the year is somewhere between maintaining my weight and losing 20-25(ish) lbs.  Google tells me the top end of a healthy weight for my height is 140 lbs, even when I was in the best shape of my life (played very competitive soccer and volleyball in high school, with weight lifting) I was pretty steadily in the 145 range.

Historical weights
7/2017: 200 lbs (6 weeks pregnant)
03/23/18: 215 lbs (40 weeks pregnant)
04/03/18: 192.8 lbs
05/06/18: 181.2 lbs
06/14/18: 172.8 lbs
08/06/18: 168.8 lbs
09/21/18: 165.4 lbs
10/07/18: 162.2 lbs
12/07/18: 157 lbs

Weekly log in
01/09/19: 161.6 lbs
01/17/19: 160.8 lbs
01/28/19: 160.4 lbs

02/01/19: 160.0 lbs
02/10/19: 159.6 lbs
02/12/19: 158.8 lbs
02/21/19: 157.6 lbs
02/28/19: 157.4 lbs

I am curious to see how the next few weeks go, I think that there is something significant with this weight range and my body.  This is just about were I was at in Dec before I put on a few extra pounds and I believe this is a similar weight to where I was at about 5-6 years ago when I lost a bunch of weight, before I started shooting back up again. It is like there is a big, long speed bump (plateau, maybe) in the 160-155 lbs range for my body, I think if I can get over it that I will continue to move towards a healthy weight but if I get stuck I am afraid I will start climbing again.

Thank you to everyone that noticed my medium sized shirt post, it does feel awesome!

I am sorry there are so many of us that seems to have hit some kind of bump/wall/plateau lately.  Hopefully all of us will be able to have a big drop in our next updates.

Yeah, I just need a break from it. I haven't really tried true IF but I was trying to at least limit my eating to between 7 am and 7 pm, though I'm not sure how much that was helping. Maybe I'll give IF a try eventually. In the meantime, enjoying the mental and physical break from dieting.

1/11/18 - 96kg
1/12/18 - 94kg
1/01/19 - 92kg
1/02/19 - 90.1kg
1/03/19 - 89.0kg

I worked really hard these last 2 weeks after a loss of focus in the first 2. And not much happened for about 10 days, I was on one of those plateaus my bod likes to dish up under weight loss conditions. I finally lost the kilo in the last few days.

I'm a bit miffed I didn't meet my goal of 2 kg but a loss is a loss.

Over the past few years, my weight was slowly but steadily rising. In August 2018, I heard about Diet Bet and decided to give it a try. Since then, I’ve lost nearly 40 lbs. I have another 54 lbs to lose to be in a healthy BMI. I’d love to get there in 2019, although I know that it will be a stretch for me.

I’ve lost the weight so far by doing intermittent fasting on a 16:8 schedule (it’s my natural eating pattern so it works for me), tracking calories, and increasing my daily movement.

August 2018: 236.8
December 31: 198.8
January 31: 191.8 (I was hoping to be a bit further along, but my weight went up and plateaued for a while before I managed to drop weight this month. Then again, progress is progress and I’ll take what I can get.)
Goal for February: 184

February 28th: 189.2

I’m really disappointed with the weight loss this month. I just kept gaining and losing the same five pounds. As soon as the weight would drop, it would jump up again with no rhyme or reason for it. My theory is that I may have hit one of my body’s set points and it wanted to stay there. In the past, I’ve often giving up when I got into the 190s so maybe my body was just used to being there.

No matter the reason, I’m pushing through it. My goal for March is 181.8 (this would mark 55 pounds lost).

@Goinganon One thing I have been told is that when you have less weight to lose is that weight loss slows down. Also when you are lighter, you burn less calories in daily living (because it takes less energy to move your body). On top of that, if you are in a regular exercise program, you get more efficient at it, burning less calories. So often you have to drop your calories or move more. Or work with a slower loss (which is better for skin elasticity).

Total weight lost: 13.4 lbs
Goal weight: 129 lbs
*Have to reach goal weight by July 7 2019 to get $1080 in prize money from HealthyWager OR I lose $600*
Currently 53.53% towards my goal with 29.8% time elapsed

Woot!!! SOOO excited to SEE 140!!! Dropped THREE pounds this week. After a 2 week stall (due to that time of the month), I lost my expected 2 lbs in 2 weeks. It turned out to be 3 lbs because this week I reduced my caloric intake further. I am stepping it up to 2 lbs loss a week to lose a little extra before my cruise in just one more week. Hope to see 139 next week :)

It is REALLY interesting how my weight loss has been about exactly on target (over time of course) according to MFP.

If you hit the goal early do you need to keep it off until July 7th or is just hitting it once sufficient?

I would need to keep it off. I can weigh in up to two weeks before.

End.  At the end of the challenge, you may have your weight verified beginning two weeks prior to the end of the challenge up to and including the final day. Final weights verified outside of this window will not be accepted.  If you submit a second verified weigh-out during the weigh-out window, you must delete your first submission.

I need to restart logging my food. That worked - not logging does not work. I just have to accept that I do eat less and better when I log everything. And I don't think it is to much work either, so I'm restarting today.

One thing for me is that it does not have to be perfect with number of calories, it is more if I log, I automatically am more mindful.

Breakfast and snacks logged so far (oatmeal and fruit).

Looks like I am going to hang out in this weight range for a while, week 3 of 157._ and counting.  The scale did do a LOT of bouncing around this morning before landing on this number so maybe next week will see a change.

My brother has a scale so I'm able to weigh myself even though I'm still on vacation until Monday. The bad news is that I put a few pounds back on, and since I'm still on vacation I'll probably add a little more by the time I get back...

@LinneaH logging is what does it for me too. I am just going to have to accept it and log.

@slow&steady if u feel like u are following your plan, its not unusual to hang on to weight for 3 weeks and for it to disappear in a whoosh.

@turketron Vacations wreck havoc on the scale. A bunch of it is sodium induced water weight though and will drop off quickly.

Currently 59.2% towards my goal with 33.7% time elapsed

Vacation starts tomorrow!!!! Sooooo thrilled I lost the extra pound I wanted before the trip. I had been starting to worry if I would hit 140 by the trip and now I am at 139.

I am going on a cruise so plan to eat with abandon. And be active at least 2-3 hrs daily. And take the stairs as often as possible. I see a LOT of dance classes in the schedule and I plan to hit up most of them and hang out in the dance clubs at night. On two days we will be at beaches so I will swim for 2-3 hours instead.

Just weighed myself for the week and I lost another pound, which means I have lost 12 lbs since New Year's Day. I've also become noticably more muscular across my shoulders and back.

I am very glad I purchased the Les Mills Combat DVD set, because the workouts are making a real difference in my physical fitness. The workouts are very intense -- like crossfit -- but I am saving a ton of money over going to a gym, plus I get to pick my own workout schedule. I really couldn't be more pleased with the results so far.

Forgot to update this last week but I have really stalled out and put a couple lbs back on. Needing to really get going  again. My plan is to stop watching tv in the evening during the week. this seems like it is a snacking time for me. Also going to cut back my calories like I was doing at the beginning of the year. Spring is right around the corner and I am excited to be able to get outside and workout some more.

This is so me, I actually started wonder if I had written this, especially the part:

Because this is what I have been doing A LOT lately. I am so longing for this winter to end, but we got more snow yesterday and this morning. It didn't stay though, just turned into slush and made being outdoors even less interesting.

Back at it after my vacation! I should be able to do well in the next couple weeks- I'm off work still and I find when I'm at home I don't tend to eat as much, for a couple different reasons- one, I sleep in a couple hours later so I tend not to have a separate breakfast and lunch, but rather just a late morning brunch that holds me over until dinner time. Also, I tend to snack a lot at work because it gets me up from my desk and there are tons of snacks just stocked in the office that I can mindlessly grab and eat. At home, we don't tend to keep snack foods on hand, so if I'm hungry I have to actually think about what I want to eat and then cook it.

My goal for the end of the year is somewhere between maintaining my weight and losing 20-25(ish) lbs.  Google tells me the top end of a healthy weight for my height is 140 lbs, even when I was in the best shape of my life (played very competitive soccer and volleyball in high school, with weight lifting) I was pretty steadily in the 145 range.

Historical weights
7/2017: 200 lbs (6 weeks pregnant)
03/23/18: 215 lbs (40 weeks pregnant)
04/03/18: 192.8 lbs
05/06/18: 181.2 lbs
06/14/18: 172.8 lbs
08/06/18: 168.8 lbs
09/21/18: 165.4 lbs
10/07/18: 162.2 lbs
12/07/18: 157.? lbs

Weekly log in
01/09/19: 161.6 lbs
01/28/19: 160.4 lbs

02/01/19: 160.0 lbs
02/28/19: 157.4 lbs

03/07/19: 157.3 lbs
03/13/19: 155.8 lbs
03/14/19: 159.4 lbs

I got on the scale this morning to make sure that yesterday's weight wasn't a fluke and holy batman, can we say massive daily fluctuations.  I also feel like crap today so I think I might be holding a lot of fluids, guess we will just wait and see what happens.

I think this will be my third or fourth year joining this thread.

I basically lost 10 pounds my first year and have struggled with the last five pounds for the last couple of years. I got within 2.8 pounds last summer.

I'll give it one more year :)

Jan 1: 147 pounds

Goal: 140

Checkin in- I have been otherwise focused for several months so . . . Here I go again.
March 15: 148 pounds

I gave up booze for Lent so that might help? On the other hand, I'm having significant sugar and carb cravings during the times I'd usually have a drink, so maybe not?

My hubs is taking me out in a month for a nice night out - I'd like to set a mini goal of 145 for that weekend.

I'll be joining this thread sometime in the spring. I'm currently 6 months pregnant but I do plan on working out and not gaining a ton of weight. So far I'm right within range. I'm hoping after delivery I'll only have 15 or so pounds to lose.

I got about a month left to go! I've so far gained 25 lbs. I assume I'll gain another 5lbs or so and then quickly lose roughly 15 lbs from delivery. Really looking forward to getting back to my pre-pregnancy size and maybe a few lbs less.

Looks like neither of the weights from last week were probably correct.  I have now been in the 157.x range for four weeks.  I have lost all of this weight with just diet changes (due to food sensitivities for the baby), it looks like I have gotten to the point that I might not lose any more without increased exercise.  It does appear that winter might finally be over so maybe I can start taking a walk or something during lunch.

I weighed myself this morning and I have lost 14 lbs so far on my fitness plan this year. (That also happens to be 41 lbs lighter than my historical heaviest from a while back.)

I like to think about the weight loss in terms of bags of flour. So far, on this fitness plan, I have disposed of fat equal to nearly three 5 lb bags of flour. I can go look at those at the grocery store and feel pretty good about it. That's a lot of fat.

I have been over-eating so much (and not just food, it has been candy, crisps, wine, cake, buns etc) during the last few days. I know this is due to having to do the final week at work, I am so stress out from this. But I also know that I only have five days and then I am free. I will have lots of time to move (walk, bike, swim) and also time and energy to eat better. I will not track anything the coming week. Back at it again on April 1st.

Currently 48% towards my goal with 45.3% time elapsed

Well, as I anticipated, the cruise set me back quite a bit. I have lost 2 lbs in the past week since I returned and looks like I will have to work hard to shed the remaining 3 lbs to get me back to where I was 3 weeks ago. So I probably lost about a month of progress (since I went on a 2 week vacation and it is taking about 2 weeks to shed the vacation weight)

My vacation was worth it though :) And I had anticipated this when I signed up for HealthyWager and made sure that I had enough time to meet my goals even with the effects of the cruise.

I haven't yet gotten back into logging post-vacation and that is likely what is currently slowing down my progress. Have a big family meal tomorrow and then back to my normal food for the next week.

On the good side, I ate a ton during my two week vacation, but was able to stick to my goal of 2+ hours of physical activity nearly every day. On the cruise I went for two to four 30 min dance classes each day. Plus hitting the ship's clubs at night. And on our two beach days, I swam for 2-3 hrs straight. Post cruise I biked a lot nearly every day.

3/30 203 lbs. Goal: 200 by end of June so doing well. Plan is to keep eating less but  healthier foods and exercising via cardio. Doing intermittent fasting occasionally too. Peaked at 265 lbs in May 2018. Ultimately, my goal is to be in a healthy bmi weight of 194 or less and stay there for a 6 2 man. May want to start lifting too for better body composition.

Am enjoying learning about fitness and nutrition, and especially trying new foods. Loved having hummus with celery sticks two nights ago.

Glad to see everyone else making progress and sticking with it.

Been a whirlwind past month with moving and haven't weighed in or been on track at all with diet. So I'm actually happy to see I'm still at 190. Back on track now for another push towards 180.

Hit 221.1 one day but promptly bumped back up. This morning was 222.6 so slowly but surely making progress.

I am traveling for work this week so it will be tough for me to keep it up but it can obviously be done. Running a 5k in the Florida heat on Thursday will help keep me on track.
