@RedmondStash, @Frugal Lizard, @Elaine AMJ, and @RuntoFIRE, you are all correct that this is a long term journey. A day, a week, or even a month of not-being-perfectly-on-plan isn't the end of the world, as long as you keep going! If going all-in isn't working for you, try to pick one thing a week on which to focus your attention. One week, focus on your exercise/activity goals. The next week, keep that activity goal and add in a focus on changing one eating habit.
@RuntoFIRE, focus on other areas of progress. You mentioned that your abs are feeling tighter. How are your clothes fitting?
@Elaine AMJ, you stayed within your calorie limit with your exercise, so that's a win!
@Frugal Lizard, that sounds like a terrible day! Fresh greens from the garden are exciting though!
@RedmondStash, sorry to hear about your digestive issues. Sometimes the body wants what it wants, and it tells us.
@alsoknownasDean, welcome to the thread! It's never too late. The gauntlet is to lose weight in 2016, and last time I checked, it's still 2016! See if you can lighten up your comfort food recipes. If not, have them, but try to stick to a single serving, and only have it once a week.
A friend of mine gave me parenting advice that I think fits all of our situations, and MMM in general: You can have anything you want, but you can't have everything you want.
