@geostache CONGRATS on breaking through that plateau!! I know how frustrating it was for you.
As for me, I'm back from a week's vacation in Orlando. After a few days of being reasonable about food intake, I went nuts and ate everything in sight. Of course, it didn't help that we splurged on Disney's Deluxe Dining Plan (just for 3 days thankfully) and made it through an insane amount of food. I've weighed myself for the past 2 mornings now and I'm up 2.2 lbs. Not too bad, I suppose.
It really helped that I walked a LOT. I averaged 25,000 steps/day during my 3 days at Universal and on my one Disney day, hit 35,000 steps! So I burned over 1000 calories a day easily. On my last day, I was feeling guilty so I upped my activity levels - played an hour of tennis, an hour on a spin bike, and a half hour of kayaking. Considering I haven't worked out much in a while, I felt surprisingly good after all that exertion. If there had been more time, I would have done even more. I have to start training for an 8 hour adventure race (hiking, biking, canoeing) in June, so this was a good start.
I surprised myself by getting excited about coming home to eat my cooking again (definitely NOT normal!). DH is on a super restrictive diet for health reasons and had trouble finding decent food on vacation, even with Disney's super helpful chefs. He ate a lot of plain fish (and some steak and treats that are not in his diet plans). The one time we pushed harder for a specially prepared meal, the chef got us all excited - but then brought out a plate of different plain veggie sides. It had asparagus, carrots, broccoli, etc. It was good (thank goodness he likes veggies!) - but surely not exciting. Last night, I made up for it all and made him a plate of spiralized zucchini and carrots with zucchini "meat"balls in a homemade marinara sauce. So far I have had no issues jumping right back into my diet plans again (only one day back so far though). I even cut back to just a 1000 calories yesterday to make up for some of the vacation overindulgence.
