I made a smoothie with watermelon today for the first time. I wasn't sure how it would turn out, but it's delicious (good thing, since I bought a ~20-pound watermelon and am freezing a lot of it!)

Am grateful for the landing pad of my home and life.
We were away for two weeks and then fell ill upon getting home and it feels so nice to be in our own space for recovery..

@nessness blended watermelon is delicious
@Serendip something about being in your own space helps with being ill

My happiness is not having any time pressure while I start my teeth anxiety control plan. Also I have a friend date lined up for tomorrow morning.

Found the source of the funky smell!

Die, funky smell, haha.

I guess the happiness is a nice-smelling house.

Yeah...it was a forgotten dirty sock under the bed, yikes! Easy to fix and now home is harmonious again.

Today's happiness was a neighbor bringing over mis-delivered mail. Glad to meet another nice person in the vicinity.

Read about how anticipation can be an important ingredient for happiness..not living in the future, but allowing yourself to look forward to things and relish that..

so I'm recovering from covid but planning an upcoming hiking/kayaking trip with an old friend who I haven't seen in many years. It's fun to allow myself the fun of anticipating health and good times :)

That's awesome, I'm sure the trip planning will help you recover.

My happiness for today was getting rid of a bit of clutter, and making this place feel more like my own. (Just moved in a month ago.) And a nice long visit with my Dad. It's amazing the stuff he remembers from his youth.

Yesterday's happiness was seeing friends, being outdoors and getting a burst of energy that I think will last for a bit.

Yoga this morning, it always calms my brain. And I missed a call from the Sewing Machine Guy yesterday (yes, that's the shop name) but I hope that means my machine is fixed and ready for pick-up.

Yay. I keep thinking about swimming again. My shoulder is mended enough that I could probably manage an acceptable front crawl again... Hmm, thanks, @oneday I might look into that!

Really nice walk, chat & swim with a friend this afternoon. When I got home, my SO had picked up some special dinner ingredients for tonight and he is just cooking it up now.

Enjoyed bookclub last night and nice connections.
The sun is out. The garden is happy.
Simple pleasures are blooming into a great start to summer.

Yay kids books!

Found a local source for an ingredient that has been both an expensive, mail-order item and also a driver of eating out, since cannot always make the thing at home. Hooray!

Biked to a friend's compound today for a pool party. It was a 45-minute bike ride and saved us ~$4 taxi fee, plus the route took us along a beautiful multi-use recreational trail by a river/canal. The kids had a blast.

I brought homemade fresh-baked soft pretzels to share, and my friend said it tasted exactly like Auntie Anne's Pretzels. She and another friend both wanted all of the leftover pretzels.

Got some mail from the credit union where I just opened an account. It included a pamphlet called "Owner's Manual" lol. Mostly it was marketing, trying to push all their products. But the name is amusing.

I'm doing some fairly involved maintenance on our "good car". Turned the corner on the project. Everything that needs to come apart is apart, everything is cleaned, everything that needed purchasing is purchased and laying on my project table. I've started reassembly.

Last night everything I did to this project and a couple of other small garage tasks just went so smoothly I didn't know what to do!

Followed that up with some time sitting on the dark front porch enjoying the night sky while our family pooch patrolled the yard for interesting smells and sounds. Evening was mild so it was a nice treat.
