I've been working on this the past few months. A coworker and I have been challenging ourselves, first to get rid of 7 items a day for a month. I got going fast on that one and inspired myself to get rid of 500 items in total. Gave away all of my old jewelry from when I was a kid to a friend's daughter, bags of stuff to goodwill, trashed old makeup, chapstick, toothpaste samples, sunscreen, medicine, went through my paper piles, clothes, etc. I'm at 465 now, just need some motivation to finish it out. After we lost steam on the items per day we set ourselves a 6 week declutter challenge, which ends this week setting personal goals of areas of our apartments to declutter. I'm in the lead so it's looking like my coworker owes me a drink. :)
