I swear I was on this thread, but maybe that was last year and I have a bad memory.  My goal for the year is 26 books, not 50.  One more than last year.  I might make it?

Many of my books come from the little free library.  One was considered a literary triumph, which means it was a slog to get through and took me 4-6 weeks.  So now I'm behind.
* is non-fiction.

1. The End of Poverty by Jeffrey D. Sachs *
2. Blue Shoes and Happiness by Alexander McCall Smith
3. Always in My Heart by Pam Weaver
4. The Outcast by Sadie Jones
5. The Big Necessity: The Unmentionable World of Human Waste and Why it Matters by Rose George *
6. The Story Hour by Thrity Umrigar
7.  The Good Husband of Zebra Drive by Alexander McCall Smith
8.  What I Eat: Around the World in 80 Diets by Peter Menzel and Faith D'Aluisio * (This is a coffee table book that I've owned for years and have read multiple times.)
9.  Still Life with Bread Crumbs by Anna Quindlen (good!)
10. The Miracle at Speedy Motors by Alexander McCall Smith
11. The Help by Kathryn Stockett (this was excellent)
12. A River in Darkness by Masaji Ishikawa * (about life and escape from N. Korea.  Sigh.)
13.  Why Zebras Don't Get Ulcers by Robert M. Sapolsky * (very good, informative, if a bit text-booky)
14.  Thru-Hiking will Break Your Heart by Carrot Quinn * (You really feel like you are there!)
15.  Angry Housewives Eating Bon Bons by Lorna Landvik
16.  Nickle and Dimed by Barbara Ehrenreich * Still relevant, almost 20 years later.
17.  After the War is Over by Jennifer Robson
18.  Promise Canyon by Robyn Carr
19. The Lay of The Land by Richard Ford.  This was ok.  It was a slog.  Put me way behind on my reading.  4 weeks?  6 weeks?  Funny but very verbose.  Lot of run on sentences.
20. Literacy and Longing in LA by Jennifer Kaufman and Karen Mack.  Light-hearted fun read, even though I didn't get the literary references.
21. The Colors of All the Cattle by Alexander McCall Smith (gotta pick some quick reads to get back on track!)
22.  Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Saenz.  This was sponsored by our public library. Young adult novel. It was so sweet.

Currently reading Miracle Cure by Harlan Coben, funny I see @tnrunner read that too.  Another Little free library - I think I've read most of his already, these are older books that came out before I started reading his work.

Also reading The Indian in the Cupboard to my 7 year old, and yes I think that totally counts.  I'll add it when finished.
I hit my goal of 26!  Will probably finish #27 too.

23.  Miracle Cure by Harlan Coben (a reprint from the early 1990s)
24. Death in Rough Water by Francine Mathews. Good mystery.
25. The Weekenders by Mary Kay Andrews.  Beach Lit.  I liked it.
26. The Indian in the Cupboard by Lynne Reid Banks (read to my 7 yo)
27. X by Sue Grafton

That's it for the year. Won't finish the current one before Weds.
