Title: 2018 - Fill up your Roth IRA Challenge

Throw down the gauntlet...Roth IRA edition.

Rules of this thread:

Rule #1: No posting of any kind until you have put $5500 into your Roth IRA for the 2018 year.
Rule #2: See Rule #1 
Fun Option...not required:
  1.  State what company you invested it with (I plan to use Vanguard)
  2.  State how you have invested the funds (My plan is VTSAX)

I will follow the rules and not post again until I've done so...My goal is to be posting by Monday or Tuesday!

Cheers to another good year, and get in this thread ASAP:)

Maxed my Roth IRA this morning.  Invested with Betterment, using their recommended portforlio and allocation.

Great start to the new year!

Maxed Roth IRA a moment ago.  Invested with Vanguard (VTSAX).  The transaction should be debited to my account in 2 days. 

Next up, brush teeth and breakfast!

Done. VFINX at Vanguard. I'll have to figure out how to convert to admiral shares too.

Maxed my IRA out yesterday, and just maxed out my partner's a moment ago.

11K closer to FIRE, not a bad way to start the new year.

Just transferred 11k to our trad IRAs and will do the conversion as soon as they hit.

Put my max of $6500 in today.  I buy individual stocks (I'm crazy that way) and already bought some.  Would have done it yesterday but I was busy at work.

Finally can post here! Finished contributing to 2018 Roth IRAs for DH and myself - both in VTSAX @ Vanguard (Took a bit longer as had to finish up Maxing 2017 Roth IRAs before getting to these).

Did this in the first week of January. Also, I'm stoked about the increased limits for 403's and 457's, and increased my deductions for those.

Well it looks like I'm running late, but today I topped it off! I saw this thread at the beginning of the year and I have waited until now to finally contribute. To be fair, I was filling up my 2017 Roth until March, so 2018 only took 4 months.

Grad student income ftw.

I didn't even understand Roths and 403B's, etc till I was 32, so you beat me by at least 7 years:)  Well done!
