Dear Friends,
I have fallen off the wagon! My husband and I used to go to MMM/FI meet ups in California and Colorado. Almost 3 years ago we basically moved to Mexico (we maintain a US address and go back and forth visiting) and we fell off the wagon! But - I'm back! I've mustered my strength and I'm not only back on here but hoping to get our finances working out again.

We have been working remotely. We have a 4 year old so I have been working part time, except for this 2 month stint with a Mexican school.
The school already took Mexican taxes (like 25%) out of my paycheck. My husband has his own consulting company. All his clients are American (hence all his income is in USD). I have part time (USD) income from Spanish tutoring students. (If you'd like to learn Spanish, let me know!)

Bottom line, I am worried about this can of worms that I opened. I worked for a Mexican company for 2 months, 4 days. We have not paid Mexican taxes as of yet. Our permanent residence / family is in Colorado.

Do I need to file Mexican taxes? How the heck do I do that? Can I do it online, or go to SAT in person? I have already experienced a torturous amount of bureaucracy with SAT and even with opening a bank account.

I've filed our American taxes (including business expenses etc.) myself, with the great help of tax software. However, this time I think we need an accountant, and an international one! I looked on FB and could not find one... does anyone know of a good international accountant in Mexico City?

With our smaller income, we are used to getting a sizable tax return so I'm concerned about what we will need to pay this year...

I welcome any and all tips! Thank you so much!!  <3

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
