Hey all,

Thought Id be able to figure this out on my own, but couldn’t. so hoping for some general guidance:

1) My primary residence for the past few years has been in VA, and 100% remote

2) planning to take some trips this year in several other states and continuing to work remotely in all of them. Every time I am working from another location I have to notify my employer (government) and change my work address, so I can exactly just play it off as a vacation where I logged into my laptop

Should I plan to file in every single state, or does primary residence take precedence over temp work locations?

And how does one even go about tracking income earned in each location accurately? I was thinking about multiplying my total EOY income, by the percentage of days of the year I spend in each state.

Thanks
