Title: Selling property in Europe and assessing revenue
Post by: put me in coach on November 08, 2018, 02:25:13 PM
Hello,

I'm selling property for about 40k USD in Europe that was inhereited about 9 years ago. Since then, i honestly don't think the value has increased, but it's an eastern European country, and i don't think we have record of the value of the property when i inherited it. Anyone know my options to figure out whether i will owe taxes, how to assess its value from 2009, or how to calculate them once the sale is made?

Thank you in advance!

Ask a local real estate person for an estimate based on comparables from 9 years ago. Or check whatever local taxation assessment value then vs now.
