Received 1095-C from employer, but already filed taxes
« on: April 04, 2016, 03:20:44 PM »
Hi Folks,

I just received 1095-C form from employer but I already filed taxes and got accepted. Any consequences? Did I miss any possible extra refunds or do I owe anything? Looking at TaxAct now, I don't even see 1095-C related schedule. Numbers: Jan 1H (was on self-ins), then all 1Es with $32.52 each month
Thanks!

I don't want to read through all of what the 1095-C entails, but it seems like what it's doing is just certifying that you had health insurance last year right?

Had you received the 1095-C before you filed, would it change anything on your tax return? I don't just mean the final taxes or refund owed, I mean anything on your return. If yes, you should file an amendment to your taxes with Form 1040X.
If no, just file away 1095-C for your records and carry on.

Correct. It's a confirmation of my insurance throughout the year. If I had it (and I did) - all is proper, if I didn't have it - different story. Reading extra info that came with this form from employer (didn't find it when I posted), it says - "you do not need to include the actual form with your 2015 Fed Form 1040, but you might need the info to assist you...".

Question dropped. Can be closed. Thanks!!
