How did you find your tax pro?
« on: February 10, 2019, 07:31:24 PM »
The wife and I are coming off what is probably our most complicated accounting year ever. (Opened two businesses and shut one of them, sold a house, bought a house, lots of 1099's, three different W-2's...etc) We need to make sure we're being smart about our taxes not just in how we file this year but for the future too. We just moved to a new area and are in search of an accountant/financial advisor.

What we seem to find are pros in one of three arenas:
1. "I'll do your taxes and hope you come back next year"
2. "You want to retire early? Sounds great. Good luck."
3. "You're stressing way too much about saving. You're already over a 15% savings rate and you have a positive net worth in your 30's. Live it up a little."

My question is, how did you go about finding your tax pro? (If you know of anyone good in Northeast Ohio, that'd be even more incredible.)

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
