Anyone know where in FreeTaxUSA to enter excess HSA contributions from the previous tax year? This should be on Form 5329, Line 42, but I can't make FreeTaxUSA show Form 5329 for this case. Thanks.

Here's what I got from FreeTaxUSA support which I do not think is right:

The 2015 HSA contribution is included on your 2015 return. It is not something that need to include on your 2016 return.

Please review your 2015 return and you can see that the excess $150 was reported on Form 1040, Line 21 as "Other Income". The additional tax calculated on Form 5329 is listed on Form 1040, Line 59.

MY 2015 excess HSA contribution was $150. For 2016 I was $50 short of the HSA maximum. Pretty sure I need to report the remaining $100 in excess contributions for 2016 on form 5329. Thoughts?

Did this ever get resolved? I have a similar concern but with excess Roth contributions from a previous year.
