Backdoor Roth together with Mega Backdoor Roth - overall limit still $53K?

Hello,

1. Can I still do Backdoor IRA->Roth IRA re-characterization for the year of 2016?

2. I have Mega Backdoor Roth option available at work. It is subject to $53000 overall contribution limit across retirement accounts. Can I still do a regular $5500 Backdoor IRA->Roth IRA in addition to $53000 limit?

1) Yes.
2) Yes. The limit for IRAs is completely separate for the limits for 401(k).
