(Australia) ING rebate classed as taxable income??
« on: March 12, 2016, 07:48:13 PM »
I'm waiting to hear back from my accountant so I can finalise our 2014/15 tax, but it has been a month now since I asked, and I'm wondering: what have others found when preparing their tax?  Are the percentage rebates offered by places like ING and ME Bank on paypass/paywave transactions under $100 classed as income?

Credit card rebates are not taxable income. Income is earned, you have not earned the rebate, it's a gift.

Solar rebates are similarly not taxable income.
