"Congress may Roth-ify the 401k"

Question about this article: http://www.barrons.com/articles/congress-may-roth-ify-the-401-k-1492798479

They make it sound quite possible that Congress will remove the tax deferral on 401k plans. Does this sound likely to anyone? If so I'll need to do some planning for next year's investing and see how that affects my FIRE date. My assumption had always been people would throw such a hissy fit that hacking away at tax benefits like this would be viewed as a political death sentence.

See Any subscribers to the WSJ who can find out how tax reform will affect 401ks? for previous thread on this.

Ah thanks, good to see this doesn't look to be something seriously considered right now.
