What did you start your day off with today?
-
A handful of walnuts (keep a container at desk at work) and coffee (made at work)
-
Toast made with Dave's Killer Bread, kefir (plain) and a boiled egg.
-
Home made Chocolate chia seed pudding* and a serving of almonds (24).
(*Blend 3/4 c soy milk, 1/4 c frozen cherries, 1 tbsp. cocoa powder (unsweetened), 1 tbsp. maple syrup, & a pinch of salt. Add 2 tbsp. chia seeds. Stir, let sit 1 min, repeat stir/sit x2, refrigerate over night.)
-
1/2c Fruit loops with 1/2c skim milk.
-
A bagel I got for free a few days ago from Panera. They had a free bagel available to anyone with a MyPanera rewards card every day in January, so I took advantage.
-
Homemade banana muffins I made last weekend.
-
Every single day for the past ~9 years: 3 vegan tacos. Efficient, full of protein, and cost me less than 15 cents a taco.

It wasn't everybody- I think it was select people. I didn't get that, but one of my friends did.
-
I eat one sunny side up egg with a cup of green tea with chia seeds every morning. Only time I don't is if we go out to eat breakfast or on vacation.

I would also like to know! Please and thank you.

Do you put the chia seeds in the tea? How much chia?
-
One hardboiled egg. One cup coffee. Bowl of oatmeal made with 1/4 cup rolled oats, 1/2 cup milk, 1/4 cup walnuts. Everything purchased at Aldi.
-
Oatmeal, supplemented with all bran buds, protein powder, raisins and cinnamon. Double shot americano with cream.

I remember reading that the recommendation is 2-3 tablespoon of chia seeds a day. I put 1 tablespoon in my cup of green tea and 1 with my salad at lunch. Yes I make the tea, then put in 1 tablespoon of chia seeds. Stir well till the seeds are evenly dispersed and start to swell(about 30 secs). Wait 10 mins for the seeds to expand, then drink.
-
One Nature Valley protein bar. Around 50 cents.
-
Every workday morning I eat 3/4 cup oatmeal with ~1/8cup raisins, and 3 friend eggs, ~10oz orange juice.
It's a routine. I wake up and flip the switch on the kettle, turn around and turn the pan onto med/low heat. Go to bathroom. Come back, crack three eggs into the pan, turn around and pour hot water into bowl with oatmeal/raisins, cover bowl with small plate. Pour orange juice. Put together my lunch, (left overs from night before, orange, apple, banana, mixed nuts). Flip eggs like a pro. Set lunch box on counter. Open MMM forum. Slide eggs off pan onto plate covering oatmeal, carry bowl/plate and o.j. to table, eat while perusing MMM.
Clean bowl/plate/glass and set next to kettle, prepare oats/raisins for tomorrow, fill kettle to max and turn on (so wifey has hot water when she gets up), kiss wifey goodbye, and off to work!
-
Hashbrowns (1 potato) and 3 eggs over medium.
Usually I eat 4 eggs and 2 strips of bacon, but we were out of bacon and running low on eggs.
-
I prep cook my breakfast on Sunday using Muffin tin eggs! 1 egg per hole and season to taste and add whatever you want. Turkey sausage, veggies, cheese etc. In the over for 18 mins and IM good to go for a week. 1 of these eggs in the morning with salsa and coffee at work.
-
2 slices of honey wheat toast - bought a loaf at Aldi (actually 2 - froze one) for $.25! Not sure why they were marked down as they were still not close to the sell by date. It's really good!
-
AN english muffin, butter at 6am. Banana at 9am.
-
75% of the time I have steel cut oats, a spoon of natural peanut butter and a fruit. This morning however I had a wrap with a homemade Mediterranean chickpea paste, sliced tomatoes and an apple on the side.
-
This morning? A big cup of soup. Lentil soup to be exact. Weird choice ha?
-
Dave's Killer Bread, toasted, with butter and smoked salmon. Tomorrow I think I will do cream cheese rather than butter.
-
If you count it as a breakfast a coffee with quite a bit of whole milk in it.
As for actual food for lunch I had 1/2 cup(dry) long grain white rice with 3 oven baked eggs with runny yolks mixed/scrambled in along with a little soy sauce, mirin and rice seasong as toppings mixed in. Usually I just do the rice and eggs with some salt but I tried the toppings and it was a nice change from the usual.
-
Nearly every work day: banana when I first get to work, then around 10:30 I have thawed fruit (still going on cherries and raspberries picked over the summer - free!) with 1/4C quick oats, 3/4C plain (home made) yogurt and 1/3C Harvest Crunch on top (big box $6 at Costco lasts a long time). Sometimes I add a bit of applesauce to the mix. It all fits nicely in a 500ml container.

This with tomato slices and spinach salad is my go to lunch, though I never tried it with butter.

Every single day we both have a slice of homemade bread with peanut butter (along with multiple cups of coffee). Have been doing this for slightly longer than mm has been eating her tacos, though the bread was storebought until three years ago.
But I've had the flu and have let us run out of bread for the first time in several months, so I'm about to go scrounge. Luckily I have oats in my baking supplies, so I'll probably have oatmeal. He'll probably get a slice of the emergency half loaf of store bread I think I still have in the freezer for his toast - I can't stand it anymore because it tastes so sweet.
-
Most mornings I have 2 eggs, fried in coconut oil, with salt, pepper, and spinach tossed in. Heat the pan while starting the coffee, toss the oil, eggs, salt, pepper, and tore up spinach in, let cook on medium low while making my coffee (we have a bunn...yay quick coffee), flip eggs and turn off burner, feed dogs, throw eggs on plate to eat.
Simple, cheap(ish), and they keep my blood sugar stable...
Occasionally on Saturdays we will make something more elaborate. Also, husband eats oatmeal or pb toast most mornings.
-
2 whole eggs and two egg whites fried and served with salsa and guacamole.
My mornings pretty much always begin with eggs.
-
oatmeal w/ cinnamon, raisins, bananas, blackberries, flaxseed, and walnuts.
-
About every 6 or 8 weeks I mix up a batch of burritos and freeze them. When I wake up, I put one in the toaster oven (325F for 50 minutes) then go for my 3 mile walk. When I get home, I shower, pull out the clothes I will wear, make my sandwich for lunch, then eat the burrito just before leaving for work. Here’s how I make them:
• LOTS of beans (black and kidney). Put them in a colander to drain off as much liquid as possible.
• Plenty of Rotel. I like it spicy, so I prefer the hot Rotel. Again, drain liquid
• Chopped veggies (green pepper, onion, tomatoes, diced jalapenos)
• Low fat ground turkey
• Egg substitute (or use real eggs)
• After cooking the eggs and turkey (separately), mix everything together in a large container.
• Spoon mix into a tortilla, sprinkle with shredded cheese and freeze.
I use tin foil—perfect for toaster oven but if you’re going to microwave use something else.
I could eat them every day! (oh wait, I already do)
-
Poached egg on avocado toast
-
1 strip of bacon
2 eggs over medium
sweet potato hash browns
1/2 avocado
-
Poached egg on avocado toast
That looks SO good! My mouth instantly started watering...
-
Home made plain yogurt with home made granola, cup of drip coffee.
The granola was made from Kim Boyce's seeded granola recipe in "Good to the Grain", mentioned in this review:
http://www.thehungryengineer.com/cooking/good-to-the-grain/
I omitted the wheat germ as I couldn't find it in the bulk bins at Whole Foods, and used smoked paprika instead of cayenne. Next time, I might omit the black sesame seeds and poppy seeds as they were the most expensive by weight, and added almost $6 to the cost of the batch.
-
Porridge and jam.
-
Nearly every morning is an oatmeal/banana/cocoa powder smoothie. Followed by black coffee.
-
I eat more of a brunch on the weekend. Today it was a mushroom, jalapemo, sausage and blue cheese omelette and a side of sauteed beet greens.
-
Oatmeal here too! With cinnamon, protein powder, walnuts, chia seeds, and flaxseed. Plus a really big glass of water.
-
Breakfast "cookies" I made myself with oatmeal, soft bananas, peanut butter and other stuff I needed to use up like dried coconut and fruits. Brought them to work and everyone loves them.
-
I keep mine pretty simple, today was a cup of yogurt and berries. Other days it might be oatmeal and berries or an egg/avocado on toast with a banana.
-
Coffee w/ cream (no sugar) and sprouted bread toasted w/ full-fat cottage cheese on top. Have this most days for breakfast - switch up my cottage cheese toppings - my favorites are garlic powder and oregano, regular ol' salt n' pepper, and cinnamon.
-
For the folks who were asking for my "recipe" for breakfast tacos (I put in quotes because it's barely a recipe): I wrote a whole blog post about it, here. (https://www.ohmydollar.com/2017/02/08/breakfasttacos/)
-
Toast made with Dave's Killer Bread, kefir (plain) and a boiled egg.
I just had to Google Dave's Killer Bread. I appreciate fun packaging :D
For breakfast today, I had homecooked spiral pasta with fresh tomatoes. One of my staple meals. I hardly get tired of eating it.

Thank you! Can't wait to add this to my kitchen repertoire! :]
I usually have fruit and protein powder, or oatmeal with peanut butter and protein.
-
2 slices of peanut butter toast at 7am, banana at 9:30
-
Oldest son is making waffles for everyone! Sometimes I think I raised him right. :)
-
Usually I start my day with oatmeal and tea but today I had a toasted pita with PB, half an orange and a handful of raspberries. And tea in a travel mug for my drive to class. :)
-
Huevos Rancheros (well, just one huevo). An egg from the CSA box, fried in olive oil, on top of a corn tortilla, topped with homemade tomatillo salsa. Plus home roasted coffee.
-
Over medium egg on toasted homemade bread with a little bit of butter and jelly
-
I usually start with coffee, but I'm on day 3 of weening myself off this. Not too bad withdrawal...
Todays breakfast was homemade cereal with blueberries.
-
Sauteed some bell pepper, mushrooms and zuchinni, added leftover beans, rice and taco meat, put it all in a bowl with two eggs, salsa and guac on the side. No need to eat again until dinner time.
-
wheat toast with mashed avocado and hemp seeds. lots of coffee.
-
I wasn't hungry but I'm required to eat by my Dr. So I had a hard boiled egg and an orange.

Nothing!!*
I am on hour 38 of a fast. I don't know how long I'll go but I'll try to make it to tomorrow morning which would be about 60 hours.
Yesterday, during the fast I went snowboarding and then went for an hour long walk to burn through the glycogen stores. I woke up pretty early and couldn't go back to sleep because of the extra energy from the blood ketones. I measured the BHB at 0.8mmol which means I hit nutritional ketosis during the night and my body is burning fat and not muscle.
*Actually, I did have some Bulletproof coffee in the morning but this will not raise blood glucose or insulin values. It will also not kick your body out of autophagy and it eases you into the fast with almost no hunger or suffering. So maybe I am only getting 95% of the benefits of fasting but I am reducing the "suffering," which is really minimal anyway.
I might have burned some muscle during hours 24-36 as my body was going into ketosis and fat burning but I don't know when that would have happened. If I had an unlimited supply of blood ketone strips I might test every hour. However, at $4 each that will get expensive. Any money I am saving by not eating is getting burned up by testing blood glucose and blood ketones. Haha!
-
Nothing but coffee, a little milk, and 3-4 tablespoons of coconut oil. That carries me through to dinner. I tried eating breakfast but it just made me groggy and I gained weight. freeing myself of constant eating dependency has been liberating. You don't have to graze all day like a cow!

100 strips for $6.03 (although right now the amazon price for them is only like $8, so it isn't a huge savings.)
-
Alternate each morning for the most part, one morning will be a bowl of old fashioned oats with cinnamon, ginger and a banana added in with one cup of coffee, next morning will be 2 egg omelette with curry and cayenne pepper mixed in and what ever random veggies might be in the fridge (tomato, mushroom, spinach etc.) and 2 pieces of whole grain toast and jam with a banana and one cup of coffee.
-
A bagel - free - brought home all the leftover bagels from work a couple days ago. There's a lot of extra food where I work (medical practice) and I take a lot home. Not sure why no one else does but whatever. Still have 8 more bagels in my freezer. :)
-
"bulletproof" coffee with 2T MCT oil and 2T cream. I will have the same for lunch and then do my Body By Science workout completely fasted at 4 PM. Then my parents are taking us to Teds where I will have a big old steak and low carb vegies!
Doc Jim
Most badass way to lose weight? Combo of low carb and fasting!
-
Two cups of coffee with 1 Tbsp of Kerrygold butter (from grass fed cows) and a dash of cinnamon in each. I have been doing this for the past year or so. I used to have to eat breakfast first thing when I got up every morning. Now I'm good until early afternoon most days. Cutting down my food consumption to 2 meals a day has allowed me to lose weight and become fat-adapted, which comes in handy when I unexpectedly have to miss a meal. No more hangriness.
http://www.marksdailyapple.com/what-does-it-mean-to-be-fat-adapted/
Cutting out one third of your meals means you save money and/or can buy higher quality food.
-
homemade pepper jelly on toasted homemade bread with mint green tea.
-
Aldi's english muffin with peanut butter and a large banana. Maybe 25cents all in. add my coffee might be able to get up to 40 cents.
-
Steak and eggs. You know, for strength
-
Our first huge Instant Pot of honey greek yogurt finished, so I had a big bowl of it with granola and raspberries. Plus coffee. Yum!
-
-Cuban coffee with milk and sugar
-Wheat toast with cottage cheese and cracked black pepper (don't knock it till you try it!)

-
Wheat toast with peanut butter, two hard-boiled eggs, and a banana. With coffee.

What did you start your day off with today?
I'm shocked that nobody has yet taken note of the username of the OP.
Q: What did you eat for breakfast today?
A: Tasty Pinecones
-
3 eggs fried in coconut oil with some salsa and hot sauce. My go-to breakfast!
-
I have one piece of fruit, a handful of walnuts, and coffee with coconut milk. I'm following Christie Brinkley's vegan diet after seeing her in Sports Illustrated with her daughters. She looks fantastic!!
-
Chia seed pudding made with milk from a perfectly good, in-date and unopened jug of milk I found in a dumpster while it was still cold.
-
An apple, 5 homemade oat cakes with lots of butter and peanut butter (roughly this recipe: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3fEBEFpP9b0), an aeropress coffee with cream, and a glass of water.
-
Pancakes, left over from pancake day. With sugar and lemon, traditional style.
-
I sliced up a banana, diced a Royal Gala apple, and put them in a bowl. Then, I sprinkled them with a tablespoonful of sunflower seeds and poured half a cup of unsweetened almond milk over the top.
-
Huevos Rancheros.....soft boiled eggs over refried beans with chopped onion and beet greens, over corn tortilla
-
home made thin crust Mexican bar pizza (had brunch rather than breakfast)
-
Employer supplied bacon & eggs.
-
5 slices of bacon then 3 eggs from the chickens cooked in the grease plus Oolong tea.
-
Coffee & Oatmeal*
*whole groats in the crockpot for 6 hours, flax seeds, sunflower seeds, walnut pieces, sugar, cinnamon.
-
Nothing.
No way to meet retirement goals if spending money on food.
(sarcasm)
-
Two pieces of toast with peanut butter and jelly. A glass of orange juice. I make my coffee at work, and when I'm feeling fancy, I add some hot-chocolate powder instead of sugar for a delicious makeshift moccachino.
-
Giant smoothie: water, oats, strawberries and banana.
-
Earl Grey with a dash of milk + sprinkle of cinnamon/sugar, an orange, and an egg with scallions & colby jack on top of potatoes.
-
london fog (earl grey, milk, vanilla syrup), waffles with peanut butter, strawberries.
-
Bowl of porridge oats.
Cost = zero
I make it at work, company supplies milk.
Grocery store chain were running a health promotion for one day,
free bag of porridge oats with every purchase.
I went back 10 times, last few times in disguise.
-
Ran out of bread (because I didn't make any), so breakfast was cathead biscuits and grits with TVP "sausage" crumbles.
-
I'm like Buffet with his coca cola habit. Waffles with peanut butter and a london fog.
“I checked the actuarial tables, and the lowest death rate is among six-year-olds. So I decided to eat like a six-year-old. It’s the safest course I can take." - Warren Buffett
^my reason to eat waffles is not to mimic a child's eating habits. I just like waffles and the quote.
Nice stocking of the porridge oats force majeure.
-
Same as every weekday. A smoothie made with water, frozen fruit (orange, apple, pineapple, lemon) a low carb yogurt, and a handful of spinach.
-
I like how many people always eat the same things. I'm thinking... routine = savings, routine = efficiency, plus forums = neurotic people ;)
I ate the same as I do every day: 2 scrambled eggs, bacon bits (we make them ourselves ahead of time), fried up in ghee (was butter until recently, but I'm eliminating dairy), and topped with lots of Frank's hot sauce. With a cup of coffee.
-
French omelet today, which is my usual. Goat cheese and roasted red pepper filling this week. Probably gruyere next week since I expect to have some left over from the cheese night saturday.
-
Just like most mornings, protein shake with creatine, @ about 70 cents per serving (not counting what the tap water cost me.)
-
Poached egg and piece of wheat bread. About 8 cents.
-
Poached egg and piece of wheat bread. About 8 cents.
Wow, eggs go on sale for $0.16 here - usually $0.24!!
Had baked oatmeal this morning with my coffee. A treat!
-
24 cents for how many? A dozen eggs at my local Aldi is usually about 89 cents. Recently there was a sale for a dozen for 49 cents.
-
Coffee with MCT Powder, Coconut Oil and heavy cream
-
Quorn sausages fried with tomatoes and lentil and little bit of mayo on top :)
Yum yum....trying to return to eating protein in mornings as definitely reduces my snacking in day
-
The same thing I eat every weekday morning.
A piece of rye toast - bought from the bakery outlet, and (probably a double serving of) Aldi peanut butter.
There use to be 4-5 bakery outlets near me. Now I'm down to one and it's about a 20 minute drive, so I buy 2 loafs and freeze one (I live alone).
-
Oatmeal with dried apples and walnuts. Probably under a buck for two servings for myself and kiddo.
-

I also break my fast with about a tbsp of Aldi peanut butter but on a sandwich made with bread I bought at either Dollar Tree or Aldi - I try to stick with 100% whole wheat. I also add a packet of honey that is available for free (for tea) from our building's cafeteria.
Sometimes I'll add peanuts or walnuts (most likely also from Aldi) to make it a little more substantial. I eat this at ~ 7:30 and it ends up holding me over until lunch @ 11:45.
It costs me about this much for a typical breakfast (I also eat this for lunch some days):
~ Bread: ($1.00 / 16 slices) * 2 = $0.13 (This is for some fancy and wide 16 slice loaves I got from Dollar Tree)
~ Peanut Butter: ($2.99 / 70) = $0.09
~ Honey: free
~ Walnuts: $4.99 / 16 = $0.31 (peanuts are even cheaper, but I splurge sometimes)
A grand total of about $0.53 for breakfast. And, times it by two if I eat this for lunch as well. I also usually have some kind of fruit and other snacks on the side (chips and apple today). Total equals out to < $1.50 before getting to dinner.
-
Five scrambled eggs and some sauteed sliced mushrooms, cooked in butter and avocado oil and seasoned with salt, pepper, and paprika.
-
Ham and cheese omelet. I usually meal prep all my breakfast stuff, but I felt like cooking something fresh on a Monday morning!
-
Banana and English muffin with peanut butter. One of my more common go to breakfasts.
-
Hard-boiled quail eggs and orange juice (leftover from Cub Scout camping trip).
-
Green tea with honey, 3 eggs scrambled in butter with frozen green beans, cold baked potato (resistant starch) with olive oil on top, salt and pepper.
-
Boars Head Buffalo Chicken on wholewheat toast with a fried egg and kimchi...like a boss
-
It's Easter Sunday, so we had a nice big breakfast- homemade buttermilk pancakes topped with fresh sliced strawberries, real maple syrup (from Costco, so cheap!), scrambled eggs with spinach, turkey sausage patties-and veggie sausage patties for my almost 13 yr old who decided about a month ago she wants to be a vegetarian, which I'm happy to support! My other daughter and I are still carnivores, but really only eat meat 1-2x per week. After breakfast we all went on a nice 10 mile bike ride. It's a beautiful day, but strong crosswinds today, so felt like we were biking uphill the whole ride!
-
3/4 cup rolled oats
a generous serving of mixed stewed fruit (grapes, oranges, apples, and pears) - the fruit was a gift from my husband's coworker
1 Tbsp ground flaxseed
1 Tbsp sunflower seeds
1 Tbsp walnut pieces
a little unsweetened almond milk
Soo tasty and it gives me sustained energy.
-
Homemade granola with homemade cashew milk.
-
I had a Starbucks plain bagel with butter and a giant Starbucks coffee and it cost $$ and it was f--king great.
-
Bacon and eggs with an avocado.
-
I just made a latte today since we are going out for lunch with a gift card that we got for Christmas.
-
Leftover steel cut oats warmed with almond milk, hemp hearts, chia seeds and a little maple syrup.
-
I start my day with a cup of cofee)))
-
I had my usual homemade latte with a drizzle of homemade chocolate syrup, 2 soft boiled eggs and a slice of whole wheat toast with butter.
-
So far:
- Peanut butter & honey & peanuts sandwich on 100% whole wheat
- Someone's birthday at work today so 2 Panera Bagels w/ loads of cream cheese
-
Microwave scrambled eggs at work with also-microwaved steamed cauliflower (dueling microwaves during the slow time in the break room). Salt, pepper, and paprika. Also butter.
Good stuff.
-
tater tots smothered in gravy, side of sausage. #heartattack
-
three eggs scrambled in olive oil
-
Peanut butter toast because yesterday I finally baked us some more bread for the first time in nearly a week. We'd been scavenging leftovers for several days since there was no bread.
-
Ran out of peanut butter at work so had a banana and honey sandwich on 100% whole wheat.
-
In deference to another thread, avocado toast and a latte. Delicious! Cost me $19 for the avo toast and $4.50 for the coffee.
No wait, it was less than $1 'cos I made them myself.
-
Ginger & Almond granola. London Fog.
-
Scrambled eggs with olive oil, and grain-free sugar-free gingerbread breakfast cookies (Wheat Belly 30 Minute Cookbook), with Walmart hazelnut coffee & milk. Then BCAAs before a morning workout.
Cookies were so good I had a second one :)
-
Bullet coffee, followed by fried eggs and gluten free toast. Yum, I wish I could eat that everyday.
-
I had an egg muffin. I've been making them a lot lately: eggs plus egg whites, veggies, back bacon, spices... cooked in muffin tins. They're good reheated and work great for quick breakfast or lunch. So, so good!
-
New go to - oatmeal, PB, protein powder and some fruit.
-
Typical weekend breakfast, which usually isn't eaten until ~11, so more of a brunch:
4 homegrown eggs, scrambled with Monterrey jack cheese and homegrown/canned green chile, plus orange slices and coffee with heavy cream.
-
burnt toast and a rotten egg
-
A combination of whole grain dried cereals (my preference to eat dry), a handful of raw almonds, and coffee with a splash of whole milk and raw honey.
-

what a great idea. I've never heard of that before. I am totally going to add that to my breakfast rotation. Thank you!
-
During the work week: Ground turkey, egg, cheese, diced tomato breakfast burritos.
One pound of ground turkey browned with a can of diced tomatoes, scramble a dozen eggs. Store in tupperware until needed. Spoon out onto wheat tortilla and top with shredded cheese. Wrap in saran wrap, take to work, heat in microwave. Makes about 10 servings at about $1 each. Sometimes I'll put in more vegetables to stretch the protein.
-
Multigrain toast topped with congealed evoo, side string cheese and blueberries. Cup of java.
-
Roasted sweet potato with black beans, cut-up chicken sausage and an egg on top. All bought at ALDI. Also during the work week I usually have a smoothie with blueberries, strawberries, frozen banana, almond milk, and spinach and/or kale. I prep the sweet potato ahead of time so all I have to do is microwave the non-egg ingredients while the egg's cooking. But sometimes I just make oatmeal with a few egg whites cooked in and some kind of fruit/peanut butter for flavor, usually keeps me pretty full.
-
Mango, pineapple and coconut water. I am in Thailand :)
-
It's National Donut Day, so yes we're going out to get a free donut!

Well if you like ebelskivers, it's money well spent! Plus it's a flat pan so doesn't take up too much room. ;)

I had never read that, but thanks to you I shall! So thanks!

I had a toasted cheese sandwich with an egg in the middle.
I used whole wheat toast and cheddar cheese, I broke the egg into a small bowl,
popped it into the microwave for about 20 seconds, then scrambled the yoke up a bit,
then another 20 seconds. I slid the egg off onto the already cooking bread with
cheese on top, put the other piece of bread on and and then cooked it to darker state, so the toast is crisp.

Those look absolutely delicious.

Just grilled some chopped onion in butter, added some roasted red peppers (made those from scratch), added two scrambled eggs and topped with a small amount of shredded Mexican cheese blend.
-
I had some caramel and cheese popcorn.
This is the problem with going to the gym in the morning. No time to eat before work.

-
Veggie stuffed omelet and homemade cold brew coffee.
-
the usual: oatmeal with coconut oil, tons of butter, pumpkin seeds, chia seeds, coconut flakes, raisins, whole milk, and a little brown sugar. I love oatmeal for breakfast, but if I don't add some serious fat to my morning oats I am hungry in an hour!
-
oatmeal, one sandwich, milk, an egg and half a cup of coffee.
-
Spinach omelette and a banana smoothie.
My co-workers are stunned that I "find time" to make breakfast like that. It's five minutes - eggs go in the pan, add spinach, blitz smoothie while eggs cook, flip omelette, pour smoothie, slide omelette onto plate. They spend longer waiting for someone to make them $7 worth of toast.

Ah, now see, it's not $7 worth of toast - that implies it's actually worth that much. This is just toast for which they paid $7.

I actually had that thought myself after I posted it. :) I should have known someone here would appreciate the distinction.

Couple of slices of bread with strawberry jam.
Wait, wait, wait... bread or toast?
-
For the first time today, made oatmeal in my little CrockPot soup warmer. It worked perfectly in about an hour with regular rolled oats (not quick cooking). I can easily mix up the dry ingredients at home and then just dump in with liquid when I get to the office, then heat soup for lunch in the same appliance.

Some people mention the amount of dry ingredients made the batter too thick. So cautiously add your dry to wet. I used about 3/4 or 6/8 of the dry to wet. So delish. Enjoy!
Today: Homecooked sausage-egg burritos
-
Strawberries and heavy cream
-
Sweet potato and sage tacos with a fried egg on it. Also some radish.
-
Non-fat plain Greek yogurt, with added blackberries, about 1/2 tsp of honey, and a banana.
Also coffee.

Oatmeal with sauteed apples cooked with butter, cinnamon, and nutmeg. A little bit of maple syrup on top. Pour over coffee.
-
Coffee with cream, a banana and a couple teaspoons of coconut butter
-
Usually have porridge and blueberries but there was some of that designer yoghurt reduced for quick sale at the supermarket. Blueberry yoghurt with whole blueberries, sweetened with honey, hand churned or some such crap down from $8 for 900gm to $3. I would never pay $8 for it, but it's a lovely breakfast for $3! Got a few tubs. You've got at least 2 weeks after the best before on yoghurt, I find, a month or more on sour cream. I love reduced for quick sale.
-
Had peanut butter toast as usual today, but I'm getting low of bread and tonight my giveadamn is flat busted, so I'm not making more. Fortunately, I have both bananas and cottage cheese that need used up, so I'll have a banana sliced into cottage cheese with just a little honey tomorrow. This is a fabulous combination that almost makes me look forward to getting up early enough to be on campus by 0730. Almost.

Ooh! Do you ever eat pears and cottage cheese? That's my favorite but I haven't had it in a long time. Oh man, gonna have to fit that into my grocery list now, thanks for the reminder!
For breakfast I usually drink the tears of my enemies...and coffee of course.

I had pears and cottage cheese forced on me as a child and as a result I can't stand the idea, though I've not tried it in decades. But I can do the banana thing, buy cottage cheese just to make it possible, in fact.
-
Seeded toast with vegetarian pate.

Every single day for the past ~9 years: 3 vegan tacos. Efficient, full of protein, and cost me less than 15 cents a taco.
Recipe pls?

Seems recently, I only see this thread on days I make sweet breakfasts, lol!

90 calorie English muffin toasted with Peanut butter.

-
Egg, veggies, and cheese burritos with coffee.
-
Pumpkin pie currently in the oven which will be dessert tonight and just right with coffee tomorrow morning. ;)

Same thing I eat every morning, because I'm an incredibly boring person. A piece of toast with some cheese, spinach, and three eggs with some coffee. Net cost approximately $0.75. Does it make me even more boring that I know how much my breakfast costs?
-
I ate the same thing I almost always eat.
3 Eggs with two small tomatoes cut up with a quarter of an onion cooked in Butter.
-
Today, coffee plus two pieces of whole wheat toast with peanut butter and a sprinkle of maple sugar.
Yesterday, coffee plus cranberry rice. Don't know why I felt like eating rice for breakfast, but it hit the spot perfectly! Savoury and salty (onion and spices) with a little sweetness from dried cranberries. I love it when this particular caterer does an event at the church, because she always makes this and I always try to get some leftovers to stash in the freezer.
-
Millennial Special: avocado on toast, with my homemade preserved lemon.
-
Today was Community Service Day and I knew my posse would be doing some hard labor on the landscaping at the library, while I tooled around checking on other nearby projects. I made my version of healthy waffles. A few scoops of Krusteaz pancake mix, with two heaping scoops of whole wheat flour, a couple of tablespoons of ground golden flax and a pinch of baking soda. I forgot to add an egg, but no big deal. Add enough cold water to get the consistency right and that's it. Top with real butter and real syrup, and you're good to go for hours.
I have three thrifted waffle irons, but the newest one seems to be The One, so the other two are going to go away at my very next opportunity.
-
Pancakes with maple syrup, fake nutella (the "healthy" kind made without palm oil), lemon and sugar, coffee and OJ. This is our Sunday breakfast. Other days are usually cereal or oatmeal before we rush out the door.
-
A cup of tea and high fiber porridge with pumpkin pie spice and Splenda, topped with cream.
-
High fiber shredded wheat cereal with a little bit of maple syrup and almond milk. Green tea to drink.
-
Pumpkin Pie with whipped cream. & cinnamon. Pumpkin pie cafe latte.
-
Just started making my oatmeal like this: One-fourth cup Aldi's rolled oats. One-fourth cup nuts of the day--usually walnuts, sometimes almonds. One-half cup unsweetened almond milk, plain or vanilla. Dump in bowl and microwave for one minute, 30 seconds. I have this after my daily cup of coffee, while I'm checking the weather and headlines.
-
Made from scratch pumpkin cookies with green tea.
-
eggs, bagel and cup of home coffee.
-
One slice of Squirelly bread with natural crunchy peanut butter, tea.
-
Soy chorizo scramble with onion and bell peppers mixed in. Corn tortillas and some moka pot coffee.
-
Homemade bircher muesli (by DH, not by me). Rolled oats, grated green apple, homegrown strawberries sliced into smaller pieces, sliced banana, natural yoghurt and a bit of skim milk. YUM!
-
Handfull of knock-off girl scout cookies from Aldi.
-
Scramlette.
Husband started making scrambled eggs then decided we could have an omelette and left me to cook it.
It wasn't bad ... for a scramlette.
-
at 7am......2 slices of toast & 3 eggs, full to 12pm!
-
Haven't mustered my FIRE'd self out of this snuggly warm bed yet*, but when I do, it's going to be my Canadian favorite, Red River Cereal, with a touch of butter and maple syrup. I love this stuff, but have to order it on line. I was so surprised to see it's actually made in the US. Who knows the scoop on that?
*This is a lie. I get up at 4:45am, make DH's breakfast, pack his lunch, walk him to work, then come home and crawl back into bed at about 6:10 am, where I hibernate and sleep/read until MIL stirs. So glad she's not an early bird.
-
My usual- English Muffin with Peanut Butter and 3 cups of coffee
-
Hi, breakfast gang. Felt very healthy today with oatmeal and raisins (thick rolled organic oats, they have a taste), almonds, freshly chopped broccoli and carrots.
-
One piece of toast with fancy nut and seed butter. One cup of coffee in my to go cup.
-
One large papaya and two Butterfinger squares.
-
Oatmeal with 1/2 stick of butter, splash of heavy cream, whey protein powder, creatine, 1tsp honey, small handful of blueberries. Plus a big glass of milk, followed later by bulletproof coffee.
I eat a lot of fat...
-
One large papaya and two Butterfinger squares.
Ooh, orange and orange. Excellent.
I am thrilled that I made a double batch of Red River yesterday. That shit takes forever to cook and reheats beautifully. Yay for easy-button breakfasts.
-
I do time restricted eating, so I forgo breakfast every day.
-
A cup of steel cut oats (cooked with pumpkin pie spice) with a cup of puréed pumpkin. Had to add some sugar because I am weak.
Husband was given four very large pumpkins (66 lbs total!) by a customer the other day, so we have a lot of pumpkin purée to get through. This made a fairly good breakfast, so should be able to use some up this way over the winter, along with using in baking and soups.
-
Eggs with tons of veggies mixed in. Green tea to drink.
-
In true mustachian spirit - Nothing.
-
Weetbix and coffee. This alternates with oatmeal and coffee, smoothies and coffee, and coffee and coffee
-
My breakfast today was too good to not share:
Coffee, and bear tacos (leftover bear meat from a friend's dinner party earlier in the week, with homemade corn tortillas and slaw).
-
Coffee (two cups) plus sweetbread (with coconut and raisins) toasted with peanut butter.
-
A roast beef, cheese and pickle sandwich and a decaf Americano at an airport.
-
40g of ALDI brand All Bran, ALDI UHT skim milk (because it's cheap and convenient), dollop of Halal plain yoghurt (because it's even cheaper than ALDI yoghurt), half a sliced banana, some chopped up homegrown strawberries and a little bit of golden syrup. Yum! And very high fibre.
Plus a mug of coffee (instant coffee with low fat milk).
Oatmeal with 1/2 stick of butter, splash of heavy cream, whey protein powder, creatine, 1tsp honey, small handful of blueberries. Plus a big glass of milk, followed later by bulletproof coffee.
I eat a lot of fat...
How many grams is 1/2 a stick of butter? (I'm curious but don't know whether a stick of butter is equivalent to our 250g butter)
-
My breakfast today was too good to not share:
Coffee, and bear tacos (leftover bear meat from a friend's dinner party earlier in the week, with homemade corn tortillas and slaw).
Um. Actual meat from an actual bear?? Or is it like buffalo wings where it's a fried chicken recipe from Buffalo NY and not from an actual buffalo??
-
eggs, banana and coffee
-
Jasmine rice drenched in soy sauce.
Oatmeal with peanut butter mixed in used to be my default breakfast, though I changed my diet to treat my GERD without medication.

An actual bear, shot by a friend and kindly cooked by another friend. The joys of living in "northern" Ontario!
-
1st meal oatmeal, coffee
2nd meal pecans and a small bowl of pomegranate arils. (apparently anti-mustachian fruit, and pecans aren't inexpensive either)
-
3 eggs, cooked in butter. 2 cups of coffee. Time to make more bacon.
-
Oatmeal with mix ins and green tea.
-
Oatmeal with blueberries and maple sugar, plus coffee.
-
Hot water with lemon and ginger. Steel cut oatmeal with apple, soy nut butter (from work), turmeric, and cinnamon. Coffee with milk.

Scrambled eggs on sourdough toast with a banana smoothie.

o.O wow. I didn't even know their meat was edible. (but I guess maybe you'd have a similar reaction if I told you I ate kangaroo or crocodile meat?)

Well, I'm sort of cheating because I'm Australian, so no. But I was surprised about bear as well. Apparently it can be terrible meat if the bear has been living too close to humans, because its diet consists of trash. But in the wild they eat blueberries and other nice things, so that meat is good. I couldn't really tell if this was a trash-bear or a blueberry-bear as it was cooked in quite a heavy sauce. But it was good!
-
At home - espresso with a splash of milk, x2
At work - scrambled eggs, a slice of bacon, & a side salad made with romaine, dried cherries, poppy seeds & some sort of citrus dressing. (Meals are free at work, so no mustachian "soldiers" were killed in the consumption of this breakfast)
-
This morning.... two slices of thick granary toasted with 2 large eggs
-
For two years I ate one scrambled egg with some canned sliced beets.... I don't know why I just loved beets and ate them every day.
Then, about a year and a half ago, I just got over it and decided not to eat beets any more. My breakfast varies from day to day now. Today I had a chia pudding with some frozen fruit.
-
-Espresso with milk
-A few pieces of fruit off of one of the kid's plates
-Remnants of leftover salad from yesterday's lunch
-
Today I actually ate something different. A bowl of leftover pasta salad from last night. Put an end to that .
-
Out of bread and still haven't made more. Breakfast was banana slices in cottage cheese.
-
One kid was sick (noted only after making breakfast, as he was still in bed), so I had his planned meal, along with my standard espresso & milk.
-Egg
-6 kinds of fruit (banana, kiwi, melon, grapes, apple, pear). My husband has a major produce obsession.
-
Whole milk greek yogurt, topped with raspberries, blackberries and a sprinkle of nuts and sunflower seeds.
-
Salad Nicoisie--seared tuna, green beans, lettuce, olive, baby tomatoes, lemon vinaigrette.
-
I slept in (flew in late yesterday from Seoul), so my husband made me breakfast. Egg + veggies + ham breakfast sandwich + fruit. + lots of coffee with milk
-
Big German pancake, aka Dutch baby. It's our favorite weekend family breakfast.
-
4 eggs (3whites 1 yolk) and an english muffin
-
Swapped my breakfast out for a quicker version which still hits all of my bases.
Cook 2 eggs quickly in butter, which will be my protein and fat and mostly serve to fill you up.
For the main nutrients I'll take a large chunk of broccoli, a small bowl of frozen strawberries and 4 cups of milk and make a smoothie.
Totals at under 15 minutes with cleaning, and if your in a rush and skipping cleaning you can get it done in under 10 and take the smoothie to go.
-
Cheese, bell pepper and broccoli frittata in my garage sale purchased cast iron skillet, wheat toast with real butter and strawberry jam and a fancy latte made with my aeropress. Damn life is good......
-
My husband has taken pity on my jet lag again, and made me breakfast: Egg + veggies + ham breakfast sandwich + fruit. Also, espresso with milk.
-
3 eggs, scrambled. Eggs are now zero points on Weight Watchers. Woo-hoo!
-
Vegemite on sourdough toast. Bliss.
-
Pretty much home-made today:
- 1 bowl of home-made Finnish Vilii Joghurt with banana
- Home-made bread with Cranberry Paté
- 1 Pot of Coffee
-
Back in town, back to my usual - English Muffin w/Peanut Butter
-
Yogurt and granola.
-
cracked wheat sourdough toast and coffee.
-
Espresso with milk (home)
egg on 1/2 a mini bagel (work)
Grapefruit & banana (work)
-
2 corn tortillas
pinto beans
fried egg
salsa
I stocked up on the pinto beans recently on sale at 50 cents/can...I don't think I can make them any cheaper from dried beans.
-
3 eggs scrambled with mushrooms, onions, and thin sliced ham mixed in. Moka pot coffee to drink.
-
Coffee with cream, green soup and two hard boiled eggs.
Then I had buttermilk pancakes with homemade apple butter for dinner tonight, so I sorta had breakfast twice today.
-
GASP I actually changed up my breakfast for once. Instead of the egg *scramble* with frank's I usually do, today I did semi-soft boiled eggs in the instant pot with frank's. I might make this switch permanently, it was super easy, super easy to peel, and delicious.
-
I had an awesome homemade high fiber breakfast muffin made from whole wheat flour, oatmeal, raisin, chopped nuts and other delicious ingredients. All ingredients were bought on sale, and I am quite sure each muffin only costs a few cents to make. No preservative or artificial colors added either! :) I have made several batches and filled several freezer bags with these wonderful muffins. I just pull out a few muffins at a time and put one in my lunchbox each morning to eat on my way to work.
-
3/4 cup (dry) oatmeal, 3/4 cup almond milk. Heated. Add roasted pumpkin seeds, dried cranberries and 1/2 cup fresh blueberries.
-
Same as pretty much everyday.
Half a cup of egg whites and one egg (with yolk) scrambled, put on top of a dry slice of whole wheat toast. A liberal sprinkling of El Yucateco EXXXXTRA habanero hot sauce - just enough to set the mouth pleasantly afire. :)
And coffee....always coffee.
-
Espresso with milk
Scrambled egg with rice & a few small pieces of sausage
Banana
-
I almost always start with a smoothie that has Trader Joes power greens, frozen berries, black beans, banana, apple, flax, and soymilk. Keeps me full and loaded with nutrients till lunch.
-
Same as most mornings:
Poached egg on home baked garlic and cheese bread toasted. Topped off with Srirachi hot sauce (a lot for me, less for the wife) and sprinkled parmesan cheese.
And a home made latte.
-
A liberal sprinkling of El Yucateco EXXXXTRA habanero hot sauce - just enough to set the mouth pleasantly afire. :)
That stuff is awesome.
-
-Espresso with milk
-a homemade breakfast sandwich
-1/2 a pear

2 strips of bacon, sweet potato fried in the bacon grease, and 3 eggs sunnyside up.
-
Cheated a little this morning with the kids home from college I bought a box of day old donuts from grocery store ( think there fresh its more a bait and switch thing the way they have them placed. So had a big long john with Vanilla frosting and some blue sprinkles on it. No regrets. I work out 6-7 days a week! and of course a couple cups of coffee.
-
Breakfast tacos (bacon, egg, potatoes stuffed in a corn tortillas; lotsa hot sauce).

8 oz. skim milk with 1/2 scoop whey protein powder plus 1/2 cup of oatmeal with fresh strawberries, blueberries and a little maple syrup mixed in. And coffee with some fat free half and half.

-A few bites of fruit off of other child's plate
-
My own body fat!... and coffee made at home.
Intermittent fasting is a great way to save on groceries and it’s also supposed to be quite good for you.

Intermittent fasting is a great way to save on groceries and it’s also supposed to be quite good for you.
Isn't that supposed to be done rarely and when done for several days?
I'm not sure if fasting randomly for short times is still good for you.

My go to. English muffing with peanut butter and 2 cups of coffee

Eggs, bacon, potatoes, toast and coffee. and a cookie. ;)
-
Figgy pudding! And coffee.
-
Since today being Xmas my DW had a family sit down for us and the kids. Made like Sausage breakfast burritos with salsa, cheese and sour cream on the side, Hashbrowns with some kick/peppers in them and then a home made kringle danish thing shaped like a candy cane. Was very good! And Orange juice. Non of stuff I eat all year round
-
Started off with a peppermint mocha cookie leftover with FP coffee, then she made us some ebelskivers with some bourbon aged maple syrup. Mmmhmmm.
-
I have a lingering cold, so leftover soup from last night's dinner. Plus, coffee.
-
I tried something new;
scrambled egg with milk (more than I'd otherwise use), some sausage gravy and cooked brown rice.
Good - could probably use some spices, but I'm not sure which.
-
Omelette with spinach, mushrooms, shallots, and garlic. Toast and Moka Pot coffee.
-
Oatmeal with frozen mixed fruit, ground flax, chia seeds, almond milk and maple syrup
-
Scrambled eggs on sourdough.
Delicious, but I'm jealous of @soccerluvof4's hashbrowns!
-
Bob's Red Mill oat bran cooked in the nuker, then dolled up with a dash of maple syrup, milk, 1/2 a banana, a few blueberries and milk.
-
2 eggs overmedium and an avocado.
-
Oatmeal with frozen mixed fruit, ground flax, chia seeds, almond milk and maple syrup
That is almost exactly my oatmeal recipe, except I also add walnuts, a dash of vanilla, and a cinnamon stick. Then I sprinkle ground cinnamon on top.
However, I ran out of oats and made the same recipe with quinoa this week. I've never made quinoa for breakfast before. It's a nice addition to my breakfast repertoire!
-
Didn't eat breakfast yet but had a snack of a couple of sardines on crackers! So good! Oh and a ginger tea.
-
-Coffee w/milk
-a scrambled egg with finely diced sausage on 1/2 a piece of toast.
-
I continued with my breakfast experimentation this week.
Instead of using the spinach I have to eat alongside eggs and potatoes, I salvaged some arugula that was wilting and sauteed it with some green onions instead. It was a weird texture because of the wilting, but was acceptable enough to eat and I didn't throw it away. It was no longer good for salad.
The spinach is still doing OK and I will add it to my future eggs and potatoes breakfast.
-
I had coffee (free at work) and some oatmeal. :)
-
Sadly out of bacon and potatoes. So it just a breaky burrito with refried beans, egg, cheese and hot sauce. Couple mugs of coffee too.
-
Hotel food! - 2 like fried egg circles, 2 mini light yogurts, english muffin with peanut butter and one half dollar sized pork sausage
-
Made easy crepes for the first time, put some banana slices inside, fresh raspberries on top along with some powdered sugar and wee bit of maple syrup. FP coffee.
-
Scrambled eggs and a mug of instant coffee with skim millk
-
gluten free banana-berry muffins and coffee.
-
Sauteed greens, hot Italian sausage, and veggie fried rice. And coffee.
-
Bacon, spinach and blue cheese omelette. Plenty of coffee with heavy cream.
-
Apple chopped up and drizzled with a tablespoon of peanut butter, and a large mug of tea
-
-Sadly, not feeling well enough to have my typical coffee. It's always a bad sign when I can't have caffeine!
-1/2 a breakfast sandwich (homemade) on ciabatta bread. Sprinkled with leftover gouda.
-Diced fruit. Pineapple, banana, & melon.
-
Oatmeal, chia, flax, cashew milk frozen berries
-
For tomorrow:
2 slices of "Life Changing Bread" (high-fiber loaf made of seeds and rolled oats) + butter
Pear
Coffee
https://www.mynewroots.org/site/2013/02/the-life-changing-loaf-of-bread/
-
Breakfast #1: 2 cups of coffee.
Breakfast #2: vegan pumpkin spice pancakes, potato veggie casserole, fresh fruit, Russian salad, Assam tea, and apple juice spritzer.
We had an early morning hike followed by brunch. Nom nom.
-
-Coffee w/milk
-1/2 a breakfast sandwich with the last of smoked gouda
-diced fruit (melon, pineapple, banana)
-
Vegemite on sourdough.
Any other bread is giving me grief lately, so I'm sticking with the sourdough, and I find somewhere I can get it for <$3 a loaf (compared with $5.50) so I'm happy.

Where do you get your sourdough? I find it pretty hit and miss except for a couple of $$ local brands. (Not very sour bread tends to be too high GI for me to manage)

Aldi.
White, wholemeal and wholegrain bread have been causing me a lot of pain and bloating, so I switched to sourdough exclusively. I was eating Woolies sourdough for a while ($5.50 for unsliced, and hard to get as it sold out almost immediately).
Our only local bakery is your typical French hot bread shop - no sourdough in sight.
I always check the ingredients for sourdough - anything that contains yoghurt or another additive means it's not true sourdough and is likely to upset my system.
-
Yesterday was lazy, just had a bowl of honey crunch cereal
-
Rolled Oats soaked over night with a splash of chia seeds, and milk added in the morning. Heated for 20seconds in the microwave.
Same thing every day usually, aiming for it every single day this year! I might occasionally omit the Chia or milk or heating. But always the oats.
Today I took them in a container to work and added the milk and did the heating there. I walk to work, its a minor piece of fasting-excercise to help with my endurance. Also, it means I use work milk and microwave and not mine, BadASS!!!
-
Limited fridge options until I go shopping today, so:
-1 espresso w/milk (trying to cut from 2 to 1, reducing cost on the coffee beans & milk)
-2 bites of egg & banana from youngest son's plate
-a pear
-
Back to my usual..English Muffin with peanut butter
-
Nothing. I'm fasting today.
Well, I had some coffee, but that's it.
-
Leftover pancakes and Russian salad with black tea.
-
Oatmeal, chia, flax, cashew milk frozen berries
Don't think I didn't notice you switched out the almond milk for cashew milk...
I may try this with hemp milk I bulk purchased when it was on sale. Hemp milk seems to be a bit thinner than the almond milk I buy. However, when I make oatmeal with almond milk, I do tend to add some water to it to get it to the right consistency.
-
A variation on Bircher muesli, made the night before by DH. 1/2 grated apple, 20g rolled oats, 1 homegrown nectarine (chopped), 1/2 banana mixed together with a bit of skim milk and some natural yoghurt. Yum! He might have also added a bit of golden syrup, I forget now.
-
Some walnuts, tiny bit of PB, and 2 biscuit like cookies low on sugar, and subtle in taste. FP coffee.
-
-1 cup of espresso w/milk (down from my standard 2, in an attempt to cut costs & health it up in the new year)
-scrambled egg with roasted brussels sprouts, a sausage link & some arugula/green apple salad
-

Another variation this morning because we are drowning in homegrown nectarines: 20g rolled oats, 2 homegrown nectarines chopped, splash of skim milk (but no yoghurt because we'd run out). DH also has just informed me he adds a few drops of vanilla essence.
-
-Espresso w/milk
-Roasted carrots with a scrambled egg + sausage
-Arugula & apple salad
-
Steel-cut oats with chia, coconut, blackberries, milk, and agave syrup; coffee.

Both sound delish. I would love tobe drowning in nectarines. My fave when in season.

I was feeling nauseous this morning and from past experience, best if I don't eat my normal brekkie if I'm queasy, otherwise my brain associates my normal brekkie with feeling yuk.
So DH made me a smoothie/shake with an Aldi strawberry flavoured meal replacement packet with 400 ml skim milk, half a banana and a bit of live culture plain yoghurt, blitzed with a stick mixer. Yum! Lots of froth which is my favourite.

Protein bar. I'd left it in the truck, and it was frozen solid, which made the whole affair much more interesting.
-
Carb junkie: 1/2 bagel w/cream cheese followed by 2nd breakfast of 1/2 lemon-poppyseed muffin.

Hotel breakfast:

I was starving, as I bailed on dinner in favor of sleeping last night.
-
Today I had 3 buttermilk whole wheat pancakes, 2 eggs, with 3 T. blackstrap molasses, .1 cup of real maple syrup, and 1 cup of low-sodium V8. Thanks to that, I hit my iron and potassium goal for the day already. That was about 810 calories.

-
-Espresso w/milk
-1/2 breakfast sandwich
-2 clementines
-
Any body ever slather peanut butter on bread and freeze it? You could separate each slice with parchment paper or a sandwich bag. Does peanut butter freeze?
-
Well, yes, it doesn't take much time to slather PB on bread. However, if you want to used up a bunch of bread before it goes bad it would be a way to have quick snacks in the freezer or a quick brekkie, nuked in the microwave for 10-15 seconds. Or you could make peanut butter and jelly sammies ready to pop in the kids lunch bag.

2 eggs over medium, 2 slices sauteed prosciutto, heap of sauteed kale + onions with mixed greens and fresh raspberries.
My friend got me into sauteed prosciutto, crisps up like bacon but thinner and a pack from costco has ~50 slices in it and gets you 25-50 breakfasts depending on how indulgent you want to be! 2 bundles of organic kale is ~$3 and onions are cost effective as well. Giant box of salad from costco is like $6 and lasts for multiple meals a day for close to a week.
I keep a big container of sauteed kale + onions in the fridge, can top most breakfast/lunches with it. Eggs and prosciutto fry up consecutively in same pan in either coconut oil or EVOO.
Raspberries are a rare treat as they are ungodly expensive. Summertime get them off the bush in the backyard.

Wow, what a crazy thread. It's always a breakfast taco and/or banana. Always a stiff coffee. But holy crap people are elaborate about their breakfasts here. I usually only get there by dinner, if I don't skip that entirely most times. Lunch is my grounding meal of the day. Sometimes I work out too hard to have a decent dinner, but have a banana and taco for breakfast first before that. Sometimes I lounge and only need a banana for breakfast the next day. People's lives seem so complicated and indulgent on these little things. I honestly never really think about this, nor do I hope to ever indulge obscenely on breakfast in an attempt to waste the day on it being too overly important. It certainly should not control the rest the the day.
-
Oatmeal, one boiled egg, half glass of milk, and half a cup of coffee

To each their own? Why would you think it controls the rest of the day? That seems like a strange takeaway where people post what they eat.
Anyway.
-Espresso w/milk
-Egg w/kale & spinach

Judgmental much?
I eat peanut butter toast ever damn day except for days like today when I needed to be on the road at 0430; those days it's a protein bar in the car. But I don't think folks who cook a breakfast are letting it control the day. And if I did, I wouldn't say so as it's none of my business.

egg + Kielbasa + broccoli

1/2 cup blueberries, 12 oz Kirkland Greek yoghurt, splenda to taste.

LOL. When I indulge obscenely in breakfast, it's usually a late breakfast on the weekend, then we skip lunch and eat dinner. I would never let lunch ground and control me on the weekend! :)
Today was a quick breakfast burrito - 3 homegrown eggs, scrambled with homegrown green chile and some sharp cheddar and folded into a tortilla with some extra hot sauce for good measure.
-
Ha..I love my indulgent mornings :)
turmeric latte
raspberries, granola, seeds, coconut, flax & chia soaked in homebrewed chaga tea. Yum.
-
My "indulgent" morning consists of delicious espresso that is super complicated and takes me 5 whole minutes to make. Sometimes if I really want to slow my morning down, I'll add almond milk to it. But I don't always have time to open the fridge, that's a lot of effort!
I like to eat an apple and yogurt in the morning too, but I don't want breakfast to control my life, so I only allow myself to have it once a week!

I sense that your breakfast has truly started to control you, so I do think you might want to look into a different option. Just, chew the beans directly?
-
Already feeling dominated by my breakfast this morning. Ate leftovers off of kid plate. (not the espresso - I'm not that foolish)
-Espresso w/milk
-1/3 of a bagel with cream cheese
-Some sliced fruit
-
Slice of cold leftover dominos pizza and a large coffee.
-
String cheese and a granola bar. The sun was shining this am and we wanted to go exploring so didn't want to take time cooking.
-
1/2 omelet with lots of veggies
2 turkey sausage
green tea
-
Today I had a cup of coffee and the last of my homemade blueberry muffins. Now I just have to decide what kind of muffins I'm making for this week....
-
Full fat plain yogurt topped with berries and granola. Yum!

I made blueberry muffins this morning with buttermilk I froze a couple weeks ago. Also threw in lemon flavoring and chopped up a banana from the freezer. Had them with crispy bacon and ramen eggs (firm whites, runny yolks). So yum!

@horsepoor sounds delish! I too was just thinking about what kind of muffins to make for next week's meal prep. Maybe some strawberry-chocolate chip muffins.

Looks like cherry almond it is! Which is a favorite around here! I have just about 1 cup of frozen cherries in the freezer, rescued from my fridge this summer. This is the last of them.

Oatmeal (mixed berries, chia seeds, brown sugar, almond milk, cacao nibs). WW toast with PB. Green tea and coffee.
-
Today I had a cup of coffee and the last of my homemade blueberry muffins. Now I just have to decide what kind of muffins I'm making for this week....

@CutTheFat do you just deseed the cherries and send them straight into the freezer. I don't buy them often, but it has crossed my mind a few times to figure out how to freeze them for later use.
I made this strawberry-chocolate muffin (https://marshasbakingaddiction.com/strawberry-chocolate-chip-muffins/) recipe. Teaching DD's friends how to bake. They came out good. But I would like to add walnuts next time I think. I used Greek yogurt. Batter a bit thick because of it. Just adding Tbsp of almond milk to the batter did the trick. Muffins for week. Check, done.

Yes, that's exactly how I do it. I've used them in smoothies and muffins and they are great.

Yesterday we had bagels w/cream cheese & bananas on the way to skiing. My husband even violated his "no food in the car" rule so we didn't have to stop.
-
Ate rosemary white bean soup I made from scratch yesterday and a hard boiled egg. Plus, OJ.
-
Today:
-Espresso w/milk
-Banana
-1/2 a leftover PB&J from or ski trip
-
Yesterday, I made 5 grain hot cereal for breakfast with cranberries, raisins, almond milk, vanilla, cinnamon, Truvia, maple extract, and egg whites. Winco sells this cereal over in the bulk section and I highly recommend it. I think it might even be BRM, but I forget. Anyway, I had some leftover, so I took it to work for breakfast. Looks like I might have breakfast from the leftovers till Wednesday. Also, 12oz of coffee with unsweetened almond milk and Truvia.
-
Today:
-Espresso w/milk
-leftover peanut butter & jelly from ski trip
-
- Oatmeal (w/mixed berries, walnuts, PB and almond milk)
- Coffee
- Green tea
-
Dave’s Killer Bread with cream cheese and smoked salmon. Fresh pineapple on the side. Homemade vanilla coffee.

Am I'm somehow missing the badass part or is this a thread to increase people's post count?

Am I'm somehow missing the badass part or is this a thread to increase people's post count?
My post count is plenty high already. I post to get ideas from others and perhaps to give others some new ideas. I eat oatmeal plenty of mornings, but smoked salmon from Sam’s Club is nice, too.
-
I cannot stop laughing that such an innocuous thread has yielded two such answers on the same page. And, ditto @pbkmaine - I like to get ideas & see how others make inexpensive breakfasts at home.
-
Toasted sourdough bread with cream cheese and avocado, black coffee. Second breakfast in a few hours will be egg and cheese on a toasted English muffin. (I'm up and going by 4 am every day. I eat second breakfast at work around 9:00)
-
Peanut butter toast as usual, but today I have chickory in my coffee (an expensive treat, which is ironic as it started as a cheap coffee substitute). I'm going to have to start growing chickory.
-
Smoothie (red lettuce, frozen cherries, frozen banana, ground flax seed, shredded coconut & water)
-
-Espresso w/milk
-Breakfast sandwich w/out bun
-
leftover beans, rice and greens, with a completely delicious in-season orange.
-
Bacon, egg, and hash browns with sourdough toast. Black coffee
-
Migas with shredded chicken and salsa. Refried beans. Delicious!
Coffee

Coffee
Mmmmmmm. I would eat that any time of day. Yum.
-
Everything bagel with herb and garlic cream cheese and sliced cukes on top.
-
-Espresso w/milk
-Homemade banana muffin

Crepes! I can't remember the last time I made crepes, but I got a Bountiful Basket this week, which contained some out of season and unripe white nectarines. Cooked a few of them down with brown sugar to make a nice fruit filling, and improvised a crepe recipe to use a little of the coconut flour I'm trying to use up. I even happened to have powdered sugar (usually don't keep it around) and made a nice little snow over the top of them.

-
-Espresso w/milk
-Greek yogurt w/Kashi cereal
-Banana
-
ice cream
-
My go to is always 3 eggs, turkey bacon, peanut butter or avocado toast, and sometimes a bowl of raisin bran or cheerios. Cheap, but filling.
-
Pretty much the same as every other day. 2 eggs over easy with sauteed spinach and peppers with pan fried sweet potatoes on the side. 3 cups of coffee. Some days I add half an avocado.
-
Leftover salad with beet, apple, pecans, and goat cheese that I was afraid would go bad. It actually wasn't a bad breakfast...
-
Leftover asparagus and cherry tomatoes reheated with a diced, fried red potato and two homegrown eggs on top.
Looking forward to making something tomorrow morning with the fresh blueberries that came in this week's Bountiful Basket. Perhaps Berry Buckle (https://cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/1017644-summer-berry-buckle)?
-
Same thing every day: about 40 ounces of French Press coffee with half and half, sometimes cream. I drink about 24 ounces immediately and take the rest to work in a commuter mug. No food till 11am lunch.
When I travel for work this is the number one thing I miss-- that high octane coffee with real, full-fat dairy.
-
Coffee... scrambled eggs, turkey bacon... donut.
-
Two eggs over hard, hash browns, sourdough toast, black coffee made with the French press.
Edited to add: Second breakfast was buckwheat groats with cream and honey. More coffee.
-
-Espresso w/milk
-Bagel w/peanut butter & jelly on the way to our ill fated ski day
-
Yay for second breakfast @Trifele! :D
During the work week, the second breakfast part of my day is my fave.
-
-Espresso w/milk
-Bagel w/peanut butter & jelly on the way to our ill fated ski day
Too bad about the ill-fated ski day--bad snow?
B-fast was oatmeal, oat milk, 1/2 banana, cinnamon & nutmeg

Pass was closed. We have had a ton of snow, and their was an issue with a snowplow overturning + avalanche control. We could have waited, but it would have made an already long drive (4 hours) 6 hours each way. With two kids in the car, we just couldn't do it. Skiing in Tahoe is not for the faint of heart!

Mine too @Chippewa ! I often take a whisked egg to work in a pyrex dish, microwave it, then eat it on an English muffin with cheese. Mmm.
-
Ate breakfast before a run, so kept it light.
-Espresso w/milk
-1/3 of a clif bar

ah...yes. Never a good start to the day @MaybeBabyMustache ..good idea to turn around. I live in a ski area and the road closures can be trying for travellers/commuters, especially with kidlets!
And for breakfast today..
crepes with lemon juice & maple syrup as well as black coffee
-
Millet bowl with blueberries, raspberries, apple, pecans, cinnamon, a dollop of plain yogurt, drizzled with maple syrup + two small pieces of wheat toast with pb&j.

Everything bagel with pb.

Chinese fried rice made with leftover Spanish rice.

I made tortillas for the first time last Sunday, because we were low and I wanted to have soy chorizo for breakfast. My place that sells big tortillas is far away (Winco), so I figured out how to DIY them. Took me a few tries to know how much dough to use, so I had some small-ish ones to begin with, which I saved. I knew they wouldn't keep for long, so breafast today was quesadillas on homemade part-whole wheat tortillas. I still have two left, so maybe tomorrow as well?
-
I could really up my post count if I just remembered to come post "peanut butter toast" every day. Guess I could write a script, even.
Or I could just drink an extra cup of coffee and confess the chocolate pop-tarts I had for second breakfast (store brand, of course).
-
breakfast sandwich: fried egg, cheese, tomato, green pepper, mustard, and hot sauce on a toasted bagel. Yummy! (Note this was a custom order as the pre-made sandwiches are all bread + egg, cheese, and sausage or bacon)
coffee with almond milk.... then later chai with almond milk. Fits in my piscatarian-ish diet...
-
Go to: Plain oatmeal flavored with cinnamon and a 1/8c of raw walnuts.

Leftover sausage and egg casserole from yesterday and a bowl of plain yogurt with frozen raspberries and slivered almonds.

We were running out of the house before 7 for a soccer game, so the leftover piece of a bagel & cream cheese that another diner (child) didn't want, and a banana. It was very glamorous.
-
A cup of lentils that had garlic, onions, carrots, chicken broth, bell pepper slices, cayenne, lemon juice, lemon zest, little ham chunks and rosemary. I had cooked up a big pot full the other day and just rewarmed it.
-
First breakfast was sourdough toast with cheddar and ham, black coffee, and a banana. Second breakfast is going to be a baked sweet potato.

Black coffee, then a second coffee made from the grounds of the first. Worked, read, followed up on ebay stuff, did a 2hr call with a new hire, recorded video content, all fasted.
Just ate some slow cooked pork (crock pot + $2/lb pork loin + 2 cans of green enchilada sauce + can of pickled jalapenos all from grocery outlet) over a bed of organic baby greens <-- at 3:15pm.
Now drinking some high mountain taiwanese green oolong (that I got for free).
-
-Espresso w/milk
-A few bites of fruit off of a kid's plate
-Breakfast sandwich with muffin thrown away (soggy from freezer)d
-
a turkey bacon - egg white - white cheddar sandwich and jasmine citrus mint tea.
-
Yesterday we had some left over rice from Sunday night dinner, so I made fried rice. A little bit of bacon cut into small pieces for flavour, a half a dozen eggs and a few peas. We fry the bacon, put aside, then fry the beaten eggs in a wok, throw in the reheated rice, bacon and frozen peas. Stir until it looks well mixed and the frozen peas are thawed. Serve with pepper and/or soy sauce. We made enough for 3 adults to eat too much for breakfast, and then lunches for 4 people extra.
Today, was back to a poached egg on homemade garlic flavoured bread, with sriracha hot sauce and some cheese grated over the top.
Yum.
-
My son's homemade hot cross buns. Yum.
-
Veggie egg white omelette and turkey bacon
-
-Espresso w/milk
-Pancakes
-
Homemade Taquitos from left over tortillas from taco night, eggs and on sale 99 cent sausage links. A little cheese, salsa and sour cream and made a oven sheet pan full off them for the family
-
Have leftovers I need to eat for lunch before a trip, so my planned lunch was breakfast: a pear, an avocado, an ounce of cheddar cheese, and homemade bread dipped in olive oil,
-
Oat groats mixed with egg whites. The egg whites make a creamy sauce and it is really pretty good. I make a pot of oat groats for the week, flavored with sea salt, vanilla, and maple extract. I sweeten with Truvia and add almond milk at work.
-
cereal
-
Microwaved prepared Quaker oatmeal bought in bulk from Sam's with 2% milk, chopped banana, cinnamon, tablespoon of natural peanut butter all mixed together and a dark, strong french roast coffee via my aeropress. Pretty much my go to brekky every week day.
-
- Decaf coffee with honey and heavy whipping cream.
- Cooked oats with soft-boiled egg, avocado, and cheddar cheese. I like it better with quinoa, but thought I'd switch it up today.
-
First breakfast -- hash browns, sausage, sourdough toast with butter, 2 eggs, black coffee.
Second breakfast -- toasted English muffin with cheese, black coffee.

Back to peanut butter toast
-
deviled eggs topped with bacon. Super yummy!
-
3 egg omelette and a ghetto-ish bulletproof coffee!
-
Pretty much the same thing every day: smoothie made with almond milk, plain greek yogurt, frozen bananas, strawberries and/or raspberries, cinnamon, and hemp protein powder. Green tea with lemon. Water.
Sometimes I add cooked steel cut oats to the smoothie- when I do I'm not hungry until lunch.
-
deviled eggs topped with bacon. Super yummy!
Oh god, this sounds good. Yum!
I always get an array of stuff from the work cafe (free). Today it was eggs, an a bit of a spinach/quinoa/mushroom mix. Plus a banana.
-
Sour dough waffles my wife made, and 100% natural maple syrup from her parent's farm.
Also ate a peanutbutter & honey sandwitch with a glass of whole milk before work.
Free coffee at work. Good stuff too!
-
First breakfast: Overnight groats from the crockpot. Water.
Second breakfast: Black coffee, green drink
-
First: Hash browns, egg, sausage, toast with goat cheese, black coffee.
Second: Sourdough toast with cream cheese and avocado, black coffee.
-
Mashed up some chickpeas, added mayo and hot sauce. Added chopped onion. Put it on whole wheat bread with 2 slices of bacon. Kinda reminded me of an egg salad Sammy in texture. Was pretty good! Have lots leftover too!
-
Velvety scrambled eggs on farmhouse seed bread, toasted with a layer of melted butter.
A french press full of Colombian coffee also :)
-
2 slices of whole grain toast + crunchy PB and no sugar added preserves.
Washed down with 16oz of hand ground french pressed coffee.
-
Toast with pb&j and a latte.
-
This may sound weird, but my morning smoothie generally consists of:
- White Cabbage
- Banana
- Beetroot (raw)
- Peanut Butter
- Honey
I went with cabbage + beetroot over the more traditional spinach + berries to both reduce cost and minimize plastic packaging waste.
-
Homemade popcorn with olive oil and salt, plus GT's Trilogy kombucha.
-
Oatmeal with craisins, walnuts, chia seed, apple, milk, and a bit of cinnamon. Just mix together and let sit overnight - ready to go.
-
Sliced pineapple, strawberries drizzled with juice from a couple lime wedges leftover in the fridge, homemade applesauce, plain yogurt (also homemade), all topped with homemade granola. Heaven.
-
Overnight groats with flax seeds and raisins and sugar
$11 bottle of beet juice called Warrior
-
Toast and tea. We have moved into my Dad's for a few months for a number of reasons and have limited cooking equipment. But it was nice to make our own breakfast rather than rely on my Dad and his wife.
-
Most of the time it's a small portion of dinner for breakfast, plus a cup of decaf. I like savory things for the morning meal - cereal etc seems too sweet. Pretty much the opposite of how I grew up!
-
First breakfast -- hash browns, sausage, one egg, sourdough toast with butter. Black coffee from the French press. Heaven!
-
-Espresso w/milk
-cream of wheat with a little brown sugar & raisins
-
homemade scones and scrambled eggs, coffee
-
Savory oatmeal: rolled oats cooked in water on the stovetop, mixed with butter, sharp cheddar cheese, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic, leftover shredded chicken, and steamed broccoli.
I’ve never been a huge fan of sweet hot cereal, but I could happily eat today’s breakfast everyday.

I love breakfast!
Today was a simple chocolate protein shake with peanut butter an a black coffee. I probably spend too much on good coffee...

-
Tea with milk. 2 pieces of toast. A banana.
-
Oatmeal with cranberries, chia seed and lemon juice, followed by a banana, a pear, two apples, and an orange.
-
Scrambled egg with grilled onion and sharp cheddar, side of buttered toast (high fiber/low carb bread). Free trade coffee, medium roast.
Heading out for a pretty intensive workout later so may grab a few slices of frozen banana on the way out. Also, frozen banana slices on cereal is the BOMB. Figured out to slice the very ripe banana first, spread out on cookie sheet covered in wax paper, freeze for ~2 hours, then pop off the paper and into a freezer bag. Easy simple snack/cereal topper. Also, stick blend frozen slices with a touch of milk and you have an amazing smoothie/shake.
-
I'm not much of a cereal eater, but go into the office before the cafe was open. Cereal + banana + milk.
-
@GuitarStv lemon juice on oatmeal peaks my interest. Will give that a try.
Oatmeal with walnuts and almond milk. out of berries this morning.

Works great as long as you use water rather than milk to make the oats (alternatively you can throw in some coconut milk if you want creamier). Otherwise the milk curdles and is not so awesome.

I'm not one to waste perfectly good curdled milk and porridge. :P

Peanut butter toast made from homemade bread.

lexde how do you like the protein bars? Are they filling?
-

Turned leftover kid eggs into a wrap w/sriracha & feta (salvaged from a salad kit). Also ate leftover kid fruit.
-
A large cheese and poppyseed scone, lightly buttered, and a mug of coffee.
-
Dave's Killer Bread, toasted, with butter and smoked salmon. Tomorrow I think I will do cream cheese rather than butter.
$33 for four loaves from Wal-Mart ad today, not a very mustachian bread. We have a bakery outlet store where fresh made overruns are $.50 a loaf, includes rye, 14 grain, bagels, whatever they goofed on and made to0 much.
-
Weird. I pay $4 per loaf at our local Wal-Mart. It’s one of a very few breads that do not raise my husband’s blood sugar.
-
Oatmeal and sourdough toast with jam
-
-Espresso w/milk
-Some sort of Afghani bread (that's what the label says) that our local produce stand was selling. Had a small piece topped with leftover guacamole + an egg. It was delish.
-

-Espresso w/milk
-1/2 bagel w/cream cheese & an egg
-
Avocado sourdough toast topped with sweet paprika and hemp seeds. Green tea with lemon and ginseng.

Just finished a bowl of plain greek yogurt, honey, strawberries, and GF granola. One of my favorite summer breakfasts! (The other being fresh zucchini from the garden, sauteed, and topped with a couple of fresh over medium eggs.)
-
A small lobster tail left over from last night.
-
I feel so boring. Fried egg with Worcestershire sauce, toast with butter, orange juice and coffee with milk.
-
A dark chocolate cupcake with cream cheese frosting (test sample for a cake that I baked for a party).

My lovely husband made me breakfast this morning. Super tired/jet lagged after returning from a work trip in Tokyo.

-diced fruit, including a few strawberries I picked when I got home. We have a little backyard container garden
-
Two fried eggs
A homemade corn tortilla topped with a bit of homemade guacamole
A quarter of a honeydew melon
Black coffee
I’m trying to incorporate more fruits/vegetables into all meals (previously, I might have had just the eggs and tortilla). The melon and the avocados and tomato used in the guacamole were from this weekend’s Hungry Harvest box, which so far seems like it’s going to be a big help in this regard.
-
Chick-Fil-A egg white grill (25g protein) & black coffee
Tomorrow morning will be Scott's porridge oats with fresh-ground flax meal, walnut halves, sugar, plus more coffee
-
Some parmesan and a yellow pear (both bought on sale, obviously), and a cup of coffee (locally roasted fancy beans, bought in bulk and shared with friends).
-
In a mad rush to get out of the house, so:
-Espresso w/milk
-1/2 a bagel with peanut butter
-A nectarine
-
Blended some very ripe strawberries (garden), raspberries (garden), half a banana, whey (leftover) and a handfull of rolled oats.
Other half of the banana ended up on my peanutbutter sandwich.
-
4 eggs ( 2 yolks) over easy and and english muffin.
-
Cinnamon raisin bagel from the day-old bread store, plus 2 cups of coffee with creamer.
-
Cold breakfast: greens with homemade caesar dressing and kalamata olives, macadamia nuts, a hunk of pecorino, and some sliced sopressata. Washed down with an americano black
-
Breakfast burritos made with eggs from my sister's chickens. I wish she lived closer!
-
Dicey, how do you make your breakfast burrito's? That sounds good!
-
Two-egg omelet filled with sharp cheddar and leftover steamed broccoli and spaghetti squash. Cheap, tasty, and only 350 calories (trying to lose a few pounds of winter weight) but should keep me going for several hours.
-
- 300 g of Kale
- 1/2 medium pineapple
- 3 large strawberries
- 1/2 medium banana
- 1 Kiwi (unpeeled)
- 1 Granny Smith apple

Blended together in my trusty 1970s wood panelled Osterizer. Looked like ass, tasted and smelled pretty good.
-
Coming off of the flu, so just something plain/bland
-Mini bagel with a little cream cheese
-
I ate an apple. Exciting, I know.
-
Plain greek yogurt, love crunch chocolate strawberry granola, and strawberries. I used to add honey to this concoction... doesn't need it though.

Couldn't sleep so I got up around midnight and threw lots of stuff that was about to go bad in the slow cooker... turnip, carrots, mushrooms, sweet potato, onion, broccoli stems, cauliflower, chicken hearts, and back bacon. Didn't even bother to chop it all up. Sounds bad but then I added a bottle of red wine and cloves. Yep, had it for breakfast, delicious! (
