Quorn sausages fried with tomatoes and lentil and little bit of mayo on top :)

Yum yum....trying to return to eating protein in mornings as definitely reduces my snacking in day

The same thing I eat every weekday morning.
A piece of rye toast - bought from the bakery outlet, and (probably a double serving of) Aldi peanut butter.

There use to be 4-5 bakery outlets near me.  Now I'm down to one and it's about a 20 minute drive, so I buy 2 loafs and freeze one (I live alone).

Oatmeal with dried apples and walnuts.  Probably under a buck for two servings for myself and kiddo.

I also break my fast with about a tbsp of Aldi peanut butter but on a sandwich made with bread I bought at either Dollar Tree or Aldi - I try to stick with 100% whole wheat.  I also add a packet of honey that is available for free (for tea) from our building's cafeteria.

Sometimes I'll add peanuts or walnuts (most likely also from Aldi) to make it a little more substantial.  I eat this at ~ 7:30 and it ends up holding me over until lunch @ 11:45.

It costs me about this much for a typical breakfast (I also eat this for lunch some days):
~ Bread: ($1.00 / 16 slices) * 2 = $0.13    (This is for some fancy and wide 16 slice loaves I got from Dollar Tree)
~ Peanut Butter: ($2.99 / 70) = $0.09
~ Honey: free
~ Walnuts: $4.99 / 16 = $0.31 (peanuts are even cheaper, but I splurge sometimes)

A grand total of about $0.53 for breakfast.  And, times it by two if I eat this for lunch as well.  I also usually have some kind of fruit and other snacks on the side (chips and apple today).  Total equals out to < $1.50 before getting to dinner.

It's Easter Sunday, so we had a nice big breakfast- homemade buttermilk pancakes topped with fresh sliced strawberries, real  maple syrup (from Costco, so cheap!), scrambled eggs with spinach, turkey sausage patties-and veggie sausage patties for my almost 13 yr old who decided about a month ago she wants to be a vegetarian, which I'm happy to support! My other daughter and I are still carnivores, but really  only eat meat 1-2x per week.   After breakfast we all went on a nice 10 mile bike ride. It's a beautiful day, but strong crosswinds today, so felt like we were biking uphill the whole ride!

3/4 cup rolled oats

a generous serving of mixed stewed fruit (grapes, oranges, apples, and pears) - the fruit was a gift from my husband's coworker

1 Tbsp ground flaxseed

1 Tbsp sunflower seeds

1 Tbsp walnut pieces

a little unsweetened almond milk

Soo tasty and it gives me sustained energy.

Microwave scrambled eggs at work with also-microwaved steamed cauliflower (dueling microwaves during the slow time in the break room).  Salt, pepper, and paprika.  Also butter.

Good stuff.

Peanut butter toast because yesterday I finally baked us some more bread for the first time in nearly a week. We'd been scavenging leftovers for several days since there was no bread.

In deference to another thread, avocado toast and a latte.  Delicious!  Cost me $19 for the avo toast and $4.50 for the coffee.

No wait, it was less than $1 'cos I made them myself.

Scrambled eggs with olive oil, and grain-free sugar-free gingerbread breakfast cookies (Wheat Belly 30 Minute Cookbook), with Walmart hazelnut coffee & milk. Then BCAAs before a morning workout.

Cookies were so good I had a second one :)

This week's breakfasts have all been a homemade bagel - I made a batch on Sunday and split them with my BF, which gave us each enough for breakfast every day this week.  I need to remember how awesome they are and make them more often.  So much better start to the day than cereal, but without getting me out the door any later!

I had an egg muffin. I've been making them a lot lately: eggs plus egg whites, veggies, back bacon, spices... cooked in muffin tins. They're good reheated and work great for quick breakfast or lunch. So, so good!

Typical weekend breakfast, which usually isn't eaten until ~11, so more of a brunch:

4 homegrown eggs, scrambled with Monterrey jack cheese and homegrown/canned green chile, plus orange slices and coffee with heavy cream.

During the work week: Ground turkey, egg, cheese, diced tomato breakfast burritos.

One pound of ground turkey browned with a can of diced tomatoes, scramble a dozen eggs. Store in tupperware until needed. Spoon out onto wheat tortilla and top with shredded cheese.  Wrap in saran wrap, take to work, heat in microwave.  Makes about 10 servings at about $1 each. Sometimes I'll put in more vegetables to stretch the protein.

Roasted sweet potato with black beans, cut-up chicken sausage and an egg on top. All bought at ALDI. Also during the work week I usually have a smoothie with blueberries, strawberries, frozen banana, almond milk, and spinach and/or kale. I prep the sweet potato ahead of time so all I have to do is microwave the non-egg ingredients while the egg's cooking. But sometimes I just make oatmeal with a few egg whites cooked in and some kind of fruit/peanut butter for flavor, usually keeps me pretty full.
