I blew some cash.
I bought a big external HD to backup everything. I have a NAS, but didn't have an actual backup of anything. I figured it was a smart thing to do. I would have hated to lose a ton of pictures, music, and video. Admittedly, the HD is not much of a fun purchase... although the sale was decent.
I also bought a pricey small EDC flashlight ($30) and some odds and ends (short tubes, batteries, cheap bike mounts etc.). Totally un-necessary stuff, but I enjoy playing around with them and do a reasonable amount of night riding.
Lastly, I bought a new (home) subwoofer. My old one (only 8 years old) died and I really did try to fix it...bought some thru hole electronic components, soldered them in, but...nope still issues. No replacement amps or substitute ones were available to buy either. I did salvage what I could and will see if I can craigslist or ebay those parts. The replacement sub was pretty cheap and possibly a price mistake. It has shipped from Amazon, and is to arrive tomorrow. After I bought it, the posted price went up 4X. Yes, four fold. Weird. Used versions cost 25% - 100% more on ebay than what I paid. I hope it sounds as good as the deal I think I scored.
On a cash positive note, I sold a few things on craigslist that had been sitting around which made my money blowing a little less egregious.
