For reference 403b is basically the same thing as a 401k for non-profits. As far as I know the limit applies regardless. So if you worked 6 months for a for profit company that had a 401k and contributed $8750 and then the next 6 months for a non-profit that had a 403b you could only contribute $8750 for a total of $17500, not an additional $17500 to the 403b on top of the 401k. If there is an expert out there who thinks I am wrong please link the correct documentation but I am pretty sure that is how it works.

Congrats!

I make a little under $13 an hour and work thirty a week. I'm hoping my last year of working I'll be contributing around 75% for the whole year, leaving enough to pay my insurance and fica.

When I changed my 403B contribution from 15% to 30% last year HR contacted me to make sure I hadn't made a mistake.
